1954 BMW 500cc DOHC Rennsport Grand Prix Racer Very rare and desirable 1954 BMW 500cc Rennsport boxer twin racer sporting duel overhead cams per cylinder head, Hubacher cylinders, race cams and five speed transmission. This racer sports four shoe front brake drum, Ceriani telescopic front forks, Dell 'Orto carburetors, aluminum fuel tank and remanufactured frame. There were only twenty-four Rennsports produced by the factory and were world champions in sidecar racing. This motor has number 004 stamped on the case and a new set of piston rings and valve springs were recently installed. These motorcycles are very rare and are a real crowd pleaser. NOTE! This motorcycle is selling on a "BILL OF SALE ONLY!" Race bikes of this vintage never had titles issued! I reserve the right to end this auction early as this motorcycle is being offered elsewhere.
