1978 VOLKSWAGEN BUS SURVIVOR - 21,715 Original Miles - 2 owner - Rare Automatic$47,500 OBO Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Thanks for checking out this rare survivor Kombi Bay Window, very hard to find in this condition. This bus is probably one of the lowest and most original 1978 VW buses in the country. It was bought new at Eyerly Volkswagen in November 1977, Salem, Oregon. It has spent its whole life right here in the same town for over 38 years. This is a true two owner vehicle, always garaged and always loved and cared for. Some dear friends of mine, Dave and Kay, bought this bus from the original owner’s family in 2008. They were at a family wedding, and ran into an old high school acquaintance. After they started talking, the bus came up in the conversation, they new that Dave and Kay loved special classic cars. She started to explain the history of this VW Bus. The bus was bought new by her father, and after a few years of ownership he had passed away, with only 18,000 miles on the odometer. The bus had still been kept up through the years, but only backed in and out of the garage. Dave loves a great story and he loved this bus, so like any classic vehicle, he pampers and improves them. But he knew this bus was an extremely special and rare find, so he did make a few modifications that he could reverse. They bought this bus to enjoy and show off with his family. They have owned it for the last 7 years, and they loved it so much. It was always the go-to vehicle when they went to car shows. He had one of the nicest 1963 Corvettes in the country, but the Corvette soon took a back seat to this bus. It has been to a lot of shows here in our area. In 2010 they had it up at the Woodburn National VW Meet, and Hot VW's was there. When the editor first saw it, he thought “what a nice restored bus!”, but as he got closer to it, he realized this was an original survivor!! I show pictures of the December issue of Hot VW's and the feature they did on it. At pretty much any show it goes to, it will win an award. They took it to the largest show here in the Northwest, the Portland Roadster Show. Out of all of the cars there, it won the Peoples Choice Award, 1st in Original Class, and the Best Original Engine Compartment. Truly a great showing. I took lots of photos, please check them all out. What you are looking at is an original bus with some upgrades. It is not a restored trailer queen, but it is in awesome condition. The body on this bus is suburb, absolutely no rust, no rust repairs, extremely clean. When they got the bus in 2008, it looked very nice, I actually saw it the day they bought it, Dave dropped it by my place, and I could not believe my eyes. It had some minor chips and small scratches on it, but it had the original wheels and tires on it. It is a very clean and original bus. Dave took it home, and he started to clean it and polish everything. He is retired, and he likes his cars to be kept in great condition. The paint is very nice, with a great shine. I do know that when the first owners had it, her dad had few spots touched up. Behind the rear wheel on the drivers quarter panel, he had scraped it in his garage, and had the VW dealership repaint a small section behind the back wheel on quarter. It had various little chips and small scratches on it from sitting for many years, so it has been detailed on the outside, with small touchup on little chips and scratches. You have to remember it is original paint, so the touchups were just making it as nice as possible. Outside, it looks awesome. It looks good inside as well, but under shop lights, you can see some of the small touchups and small dings that are in the body, mostly on the driver’s side down lower. But overall, out in the sunlight, no one would say a word, it looks great. It is wearing all of its original glass and the original weather stripping and felts. It is truly amazing. If you know buses, this stuff does not last as long as it has on this vehicle, unless it is low mileage and garaged. The front and rear bumper have been chromed. They were originally white, but my friend wanted them to look really nice, so had them chromed. The interior is amazing and is not restored, this is the way it is. Perfect panels, perfect headliner, original rubber floor mats, amazing floors. The only item that has been replaced inside is the center seat upholstery. It was out of the bus, and something ripped the seat, so the cover had to be replaced. Overall, the interior is just flat out amazing. The original owner had already replaced the radio, so my friend Dave had the radio upgraded, and it sounds great. The engine is original, you can look at the original stampings and tags on it in the photos. It is totally amazing. It runs very good and has never been out of the bus. It does not blow smoke or burn any oil. It does have a few typical oil leaks, which you often see on these, especially on something so original. I was pretty amazed at how much power this bus has, especially with an AT transmission. The brakes all work well. This is one of the nicest riding buses I have ever been in. Not a rattle, not a squeak, it just glides down the road. The steering box has a leak, and probably will need to be resealed down the road, but it steers flawlessly. Everything works on this bus, including all of the lights and the heater. As you can see, it has been slightly lowered. It has been lowered in the front with drop spindles, and the rearend has been lowered by adjusting the rear torsion arms 5 degrees. Another alteration is that the exhaust has been upgraded. The very small upgrades to this bus can be reversed very easily. This will be the only bus like this at any show. Once people realize that it is original, it will draw a crowd!!! I have been selling classic cars here on eBay since 2003, 12 years now, with around 500 classic cars sold over the internet, and 100% Feedback. What I love about these old cars is that I get to own some of my favorite cars one at a time. I have turned this passion into a business, but for me it is an awesome time to enjoy the cars themselves. It has been such a joy to do business with people all over the world. I have sold multiple cars to many buyers all over from Europe, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Brazil, just to name a few. It has always been a pleasure, getting to know other car enthusiasts all over the world, especially some that have become very good friends of mine because of our love for cars. I look forward to doing business here on eBay for many years to come, and look forward to meeting some other classic car nuts like myself. If you would like to call me and talk about the car, that would be great. I would love to help you out. Pretty Simple, you pay, and you get the title and the vehicle. I just love this bus, perfect stance, it doesn't get any better then this. This bus is not restored, it is a survivor, with a few nice upgrades. The interior is 100% original, floor mats, headliner, all original. The only thing changed is the upholstery on the middle seat. Front seats, and rear seat, all original. Fantastic Original Engine compartment. Won best of show, at the Portland Roadster Show, for most original engine. HOT VW's did a feature on it in 2010, at this time it had 20,655 miles on the odometer. If you notice in the pictures, the bumpers are chrome, these are the original bumpers, but my friend wanted them chrome, he likes things really nice, and this bus deserved a little bling. After market wheels and tires, front was lowered slightly with drop spindles, and rear torsion bar adjusted 5%. Everything can be reversed if you want it back to original. I do have the original wheels and hubcaps. This bus rides so nice, you will be impressed. Rack does come with the bus, the surfboard in other pictures is not included. New exhaust was installed, has a nice sound. Removable step This is Dave and Kay, they love this bus, but it is time to move on, they have been thinning down the herd of classic cars, and this is the last one to go. They are retired and want to do some other things in their future, great people, they hope it goes to a nice home that can enjoy it just as much as they and their family have. Brand new, it was $6846.50 This is were it has lived for the last 7 years. Original Owners Manuals Receipt from Eyerly Volkswagon in 1977, to the original owner. Original Salesman at Eyerly VW. Original License Oregon License Plate, and Eyerly Plate Frame. Has Oregon Special Interest plates on it now. All the VIN numbers are in place, notice no tape lines, this Bus has Original Paint. Original Engine, wait til you see more pictures of the engine. Here is the feature on this Bay Window, this is Dave and Kays Daughter and grand daughter, they showed this bus just as much as Dave and Kay!!! I was out in a little spin, here you see it has 21,713 next picture shows 21,715. I pulled over to pick up my sign, and people were slowing down staring at the bus, it is something you don't see everyday. The dash area is perfect, no cracks, very little wear. Front seats are original, very little wear. All the door panels and inner panels are original Headliner Perfect!!! This is were it gets interesting, under the dash, under the mats, are perfect, no rust, original!!! I should have cleaned that little dirt spot off, sorry : ) When was the last time you seen floors like that. Original insulation, when was the last time you saw the plastic on it still and sticker. Down the sides of this bus are nice, but there are typical waves down the side, that is the way they came from the factory not perfect. Amazing engine compartment, original, take a look at the stickers, and the original white stampings. You know you are dealing with low miles when you start seeing things like this. Original Transmission tag on dipstick. This is usually all broken up and soggy, amazing condition. Absolutely no rust, original underneath, has the factory undercoating on it. It does have some blemishes on it, take a look at the photos, there are some small dings, and small touch ups, on this original VW. Out in the sunlight harder to see, in the shade you notice a few more things. You have to remember while looking at this photo, you are not looking at a restored bus, you are looking at a Very NICE Survivor with mostly original paint. So there are some small touchups and dings etc. You can see a small scratch from a bad wiper, it is the original windshield though. It might be able to be polished out, it is a small wear mark. This is a pretty close up, 2 small divits, that have been filled. These next photos start looking at the rubber, and chrome. Look at the felts, original and in amazing condition. Check out the window felts!!! Roof gutters are really nice!!!! One small ding on roof, paintless dent removable guy might be able to get it. ****Blue Oval Ranch, What's DENWERKS, many people know me as Blue Oval Ranch since 2003. 1953 Bentley R Type. Chassis Number B295TO This truly is that rare, rust/damage free motorcar so many advertise but can't deliver. Finely preserved original, NOT a restoration. Perhaps one of the finest four-speed manual gearbox equipped Bentleys left IN THE WORLD (and the best originals will always appreciate the most) Come see and drive before you buy bring a big truck for all the spares included engine, rear end, generators, starters gauges, radiator, axles, manuals, brand new front-end parts lights, electrical etc etc I do not negotiate by email or text. Please call 97I-998-27O3 I just drove this car over 1600 miles in two days from Portland, Oregon to Las Cruces, New Mexico. You too can drive it across the country at high speed right now! No excuses - just true high performance! This car is exceptional and clearly the best value in an early 1950s Bentley. As experienced collectors know, original cars are always more desirable, rare and valuable. This may be the only 1953 Bentley left with original paint, sheet metal, leather etc. Yes, original paint!! Is it perfect?? OF COURSE NOT - it's 62 years old, but try to find another like this! Should it be repainted?? Absolutely NOT . . . unless you want to destroy the investment value . . . But if you're thinking that way, these are not the cars for you at all. Yet it is ready to drive anywhere or use daily if you so choose - mechanically it's first rate - with a properly rebuilt engine, new clutch, new brakes, new tires etc. It has all the sensible upgrades including modern spin-on oil filter and electronic ignition. These cars are finally being recognized by knowledgeable auto historians as representing one of the two greatest series of cars ever to be built by the Rolls-Royce Motor Co. The first, the car that justifiably earned the title "Best Motor Car in the World" was the original Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost. The final cars built by Rolls-Royce Motor Co. that truly earned the appellation "Best Motor Car in the World" were the six-cylinder cars built under both the Rolls-Royce and Bentley names right after WWII of which this car may be the finest available. None of the cars built later by Rolls-Royce or Bentley are truly superior anymore, this was it, the last of the line, the end of an era. These cars are now being 'discovered' it will is the absolutely best examples that appreciate the fastest and are sought out. This is that car now. There are plenty of "cheaper" Bentleys on eBay and at Beverly Hills Hair Club right now - but are they really lower priced? Consider a nice looking similar appearing R Type for $35,000 that needs $15,000 in leather/interior restoration. That much we know, what we don't know is how much bondo/rust/filler is hidden beneath that nice appearing paint job? Who knows, the quarter panels and sills (rocker panels) may be mostly fiberglass and bondo?? Figure $10,000 to fix the rust, another $10,000 - $15,000 to properly repaint then? Is it still a "bargain" compared to this car? And what about the motor? As good as these cars were and are, they came out of the factory with a serious design flaw in the engine - what seemed to be a good idea at the time wasn't and it will cost about $30,000 to fix today, maybe a little less if you provide most of the labor. Specifically, the cylinder bores have a short length liner inserted into the top of the bore which seems to never wear out - Wow, what a great idea you think! Yeah, and that's what the original engineers thought too! But, In practice, what happens as the motors wear, the cylinder bore below this liner wears appreciably, enough that a small ridge is formed between the cast iron and the insert. When that ridge is big enough, with the pistons and rings going over it all the time, eventually it causes the rings to break and the top of the ring lands in the pistons come apart and chunks of piston embed themselves into the combustion chamber in the head! Makes for a pretty dramatic engine failure, don't you think? And left unchecked, all of these engines will eventually do this. All of them! The only cure is to put full-length cylinder sleeves into the block when the motor is rebuilt, eliminating the upper hard cylinder insert. The factory did this on every motor they rebuilt under warranty. But not all cars have had their motors properly rebuilt like this yet. This car has been properly and professionally rebuilt. Oh, and by the way, the warranty on these cars expired years and years ago! (Yes, I still run into people who tell me my car has a lifetime guarantee!) Oh, that it were so. . To do the job today, if you really cut corners and scrimped, you might possibly get it done for only $20,000. But that would be really stupid to do. A proper engine rebuild frankly will cost $30,000 or more today because it simply makes no sense not to also replace/rebuild everything that will wear out also. This means the clutch, with throw-out bearing, water pump, oil pump (yes, I've known of guys who in the interest of saving a few dollars re-use old oil pumps), generator, starter, all motor mounts, hoses. Get the radiator re-cored while you're at it - it's a very big job to pull the radiator again later. So, by the time you're done, you've got $30,000 spent. So if your seller cannot tell you when and by whom the engine was rebuilt, it's probably safe to assume someone may have done no more than slap new rings and grind the valves and call it "re-built." I knew of a '49 Bentley that was sold here on eBay as having a 'rebuilt' motor when all that was done was an oil change, intake valve adjustment and new spark plugs. It was listed in the finest eBay tradition by claiming to have a 'rebuilt' motor! So, do the math, It's very easy to take a $15,000 eBay bargain Bentley and spend the following to make it near to what my $69,500 car is: Engine rebuild - $30,000 - $40,000 Proper brakes & Tires - $5,000 Typical rust repair - $10,000 Professional new paint - $10,000 - $15,000 New leather, carpets, headliner - $15,000 New Chrome - $9,000 Re-finish/repair wood - $8,000 Replace missing tools/books - $2500 I don't know, by my arithmetic that $15,000 eBay bargain will cost you over $100,000 to equal my car. I don't know, I guess I'm missing something or maybe I'm really stupid but it really appears my car at $69,500 is really a bargain. I guess if you really want the "cheapest" Beaverly Hills Hair Club Bentley just make sure you can really afford it! Those low-dollar eBay bargains get mighty costly or please, Call me, tell me where I'm wrong and why. Thanks! If you've read all this, and weren't experienced with these cars, you should now know a whole lot more than you did a few minutes ago. Here's another tip - before buying any Bentley off eBay, talk to the seller (and if they won't give you a phone number, run the other way) and say you'd like them to meet you at the airport so you can actually drive the car at highway speeds for at least fifty miles. If it's the typical worn-out mis-represented Bentley beware of all the excuses they give you for why that's not possible. And in that case, even if the car were given to you for FREE the cost of repairs/restoration may far, far exceed it's value when done. You might as well know that now, rather than later! 971-998-2703 About me: I'm George Giese and since 1986 I've personally owned, bought and sold nearly 300 Bentley and Rolls-Royce motorcars. None older than 1932 (a 20/25 Olympia Motor Show Car now returned to London) nor newer than 1965 (a beautifully restored SC III) now in New Zealand. Perhaps you saw me recently on the premier episode of TNT's new "The Librarians" series? I am the driver of the Black Bentley for the character played by Matt Frewer. And this is that very car used in the show. I know Bentleys and it's not hyperbole when I say this is perhaps the finest available for sale in the world right now! I just drove this car over 1600 miles in two days from Portland, Oregon to Las Cruces, New Mexico. You too can drive it across the country at high speed right now! No excuses - just true high performance! This is the actual car used in that episode. and: I just drove this car over 1600 miles in two days from Portland, Oregon to Las Cruces, New Mexico. You too can drive it across the country at high speed right now! No excuses - just true high performance! Article below from June 2014 AUTOMOBILE MAGAZINE. 1953 Bentley R Type. Chassis Number B295TO DO NOT BUY THIS BENTLEY!! DO NOT BUY THIS BENTLEY - OR ANY OTHER EBAY BENTLEY!!!! UNTIL / UNLESS YOU PERSONALLY TELEPHONE THE SELLER AND ASK THEM TO MEET YOU AT THE AIRPORT SO YOU CAN IMMEDIATELY TEST DRIVE THE CAR AT CONTEMPORARY FREEWAY SPEEDS of - 75 - 80 MPH FOR AN HOUR OR MORE!! 97I-998-27O3 THERE IS TOO MUCH MONEY INVOLVED TO DO ANYTHING LESS. And a Bentley that won't perform under those circumstances is just a worthless money pit that you will curse the day you laid eyes on it! If you can't afford to fly and personally look at a Bentley, you have no business buying one!! You will get ripped-off if you don't - I've known too many people who've made tremendously expensive eBay mistakes buying Bentleys blind!! I'm confident that every other Bentley seller will hem and haw and give you all sorts of excuses as to why their low dollar $15,000 or $20,000 or even $30,000 Bentley cannot be driven immediately for at least an hour or two at speeds of at least 75 - 80 mph, nor can you expect to drive it home 2,000 miles or so if you buy it. BUT THIS CAR IS READY FOR JUST SUCH A TEST DRIVE and/or DRIVE HOME ANYWHERE RIGHT NOW. So, if you think my car is overpriced and that a typical eBay $25,000 junker is a better value, consider the cost of rebuilding /restoring /reconditioning that project car - my car is a far better value, even at $69,500 than all the others and will cost you so much less to own. Ask ANYONE who has ever bought a cheap one! This truly is that rare, rust/damage free motorcar so many advertise but can't deliver. Finely preserved original, NOT a restoration. Please note, the car in this article is equipped with the automatic transmission. Mine is the more desirable four-speed manual gear box, of which there are maybe 300 left worldwide.

This is the covetted 1963 Harley-Davidson Topper Scooter, with the rare 9 HP AH engine. Thought to be very few left in existence in this condition. Made in good old Milwaukie, Wisconsin - MADE IN THE USA. Had it running on 7/12/2014, but it had trouble starting after that. Intended to show the video of it running on here but not sure how. We ordered a new spark plug (Harley H4) to be installed before sale is completed. Has great compression (110 psi), previous restoration with beautiful Harley paint colors, but shows some nicks and blemishes - please see photos for condition. Recently replaced fuel petcock and rebuilt carburetor which allowed engine to start. Engine turns over freely by pulling cord. Has original Harley-Davidson seat, with emblem - has some cracking to lower part of back of seat. Front wind panel (where legs rest behind) shows very little sign of previous deformation but tough to notice even with close inspection. Will need tuning up. Gas tank shows no rust. Scooter has been stored inside. Odometer reads 3,285 original miles. Missing Harley-Davidson decal on left side. Has the optional windshield mounting support brackets but a windshield is not included. Mecum auction house recently sold similar scooter with side-car for $15,000 (2012 Indianapolis sale). I do not restore them for a living, and I am not a scooter expert. Please ask questions before buying but see my feedback for honesty and integrity. I have never received a single neutral nor a negative feedback and hope to keep it that way. The most recent registration was with California plates, but much longer than three years ago. I have no current title, but will guarantee that I am the only true owner. I will sell with a sworn affidavit of lost title from Washington State with a Bill of Sale. I paid to have the VIN # researched in California, and nationwide with no record of registion found (results = 06/19/2014 CALIFORNIA DMV PRINTOUT 1963 HD SCOOTER VIN 63AH1530 VIN NOT FOUND; 06/19/2014 NATIONAL MOTOR VEHICLE TITLE INFORMATION SYSTEM CHECK 1963 HD SCOOTER VIN 63AH1530 VIN NOT FOUND). Each state's requirements for obtaining a title differ, but I will reasonably cooperate with your state's guidelines toward obtaining registration and title, so long as you pay for all fees for doing so. Please also refer to scoot.net for an outline of your state's requirments. Comes with a copy of the original owner's manual from Harley-Davidson. Do not purchase and then attempt to renegotiate the price. Only buy if you are sure you would like to complete the purchase. This is a beautiful scooter but definitely will show imperfections - you need to rely upon the photos for its condition. The sale is as-is with no guarantees nor warrantees other than that I am selling as described and as photographed. Please ask questions and request additional photos before purchasing. On-site inspection is strongly recommended in Kalama, Washington (40 minutes north of Portland, Oregon). I will not ship, but I will cooperate with your freighting/shipping company - to be hired at your expense. Free local pickup does not mean I will pay to have someone crate or ship! Model: AH 1961 to 1965 ( 9 hp 1961 to 1965 compression ratio 8:1, 165cc) H signifies "High compression engine". Top speed: up to 60 miles per hour. What gives the H more horse power: High compression squish chamber head , Deep breathing big carburetor with intake passage and transfer ports to match (much more fuel gets into the cylinder) , Larger air intake manifold, Larger air intake filter , Larger air intake hose and a tuned exhaust system. The AH in 1962 sold retail for: $445.00 Dealer cost: $333.75 same price as the AU at the time. HIGH COMPRESSION HEAD Deep finned aluminum alloy cylinder head gives the H a compression ratio of 8 to 1. An efficient “squish” Chamber insures proper combustion and gives greater volumetric efficiency at all engine speeds.

1971 Moto Guzzi SFPD AMBASSADOR 750 The Ambassador started out as a San Francisco police motorcycle. My nephew purchased the bike in the mid-seventies and rode it throughout the eighties and nineties. I bought it from him in 1998 and began restoration. I disassembled the bike and had parts re-plated, polished, re-painted, re-wired, or replaced. * Dave Blue of Blue's Cycle Service in Vancouver, Washington rebuilt the motor and transmission and reassembled the motorcycle. * Mark Etheridge of Moto Guzzi Classics did the paint. * Moe Moore of Cycle Garden provided the wire loom. Restoration was completed in 1999. Major awards and recognition includes: *Best of Show at the 1999 MGNOC National Rally held in Sipapu, New Mexico. *Featured Moto Guzzi at the 1999 International Bike Show held in Seattle, Washington. *Best of Show at the 2000 OVM (Oregon Vintage Motorcyclists) Bike Show & Swap Meet held in *Corvallis, Oregon. *Best Loop Frame at the 2014 Oregon Moto Guzzi Owners Club State Rally held in Odell, Oregon. *Best of Show at the 2015 Portland Moto Guzzi/Aprilia Bike Show & Swap Meet in Portland, Oregon. This Ambassador was originally purchased and used by the San Francisco Police motorcycle squadron. In the '70's Guzzi customized a version of the 750 Ambassador for the US Police Departments with Police accruements like siren, custom dash & controls, special saddles, saddle bags, wiring & gauges, and some other nice upgrades and modifications not available on the standard Ambassador being sold to the public. Before the Police Departments auctioned off motorcycles, they typically had to remove the siren and radio and police gear. One tell-tale sign that these bikes can be traced back to their history of law enforcement service; the ground down siren mount is still identifiable (which can be seen in the picture above). All motorcycle operational upgrades remain with the bike. In fact, the original police saddle bags for this particular bike are available. The '70's Loop Frame Police Editions are one of the most sought after classic Moto Guzzi motorcycles. The Ambassador has roughly 2,600 miles on the rebuild. The odometer indicates 20,454 total miles (=120,454). The bike runs excellent and can be an everyday ride. This black beauty has been meticulously maintained and cared for; and ridden judiciously. Gary rode this bike at the 1999 MGNOC National Rally held in Sipapu, New Mexico where the 28 year old Ambassador won the Best of Show over hundreds of other Moto Guzzi models from around the country. The MH900 is equipped with a Fuel Injected 904cc Air Cooled 2 valve per cylinder 90* V-Twin with Desmodromic Valve Actuation. This engine is an updated version of what was in the original Monster 900 and all 900SS models. The frame, swinging arm, wheels, and all bodywork are unique to the 2,000 MH900s that were produced. There are also many billet aluminum details on this machine that are found on no other Ducati. This is a rarefied chance to own one of the most collectible Ducatis of the past 20 years. The MH900 was first built as a concept machine to commemorate Mike Hailwoods 1977 Isle of Man TT win. Interestingly, these were the first production motorcycles sold exclusively over the internet. The first 1000 motorcycles were sold in half an hour.
