SIMPLEX AUTOMATIC......SERVI-CYCLE, AND SIMPLEX WAS FOUNDED BY PAUL TREEN IN LOUISIANA,IN 1935. .HE WAS THE FATHER OF LOUISIANA GOVERNOR DAVE TREEN WHO WAS BORN IN 1928. THE SERVI-CYCLES AND SIMPLEX WERE LIGHT WEIGHT CYCLES MADE FROM 1935 TO 1960. ONLY HARLEY AND INDIAN WERE MADE LONG ER THAN SIMPLEX. THESE ARE THE ONLY CYCLES MADE IN THE DEEP SOUTH, (NEW ORLEANS) DAVE TREEN WAS V. PRESIDENT OF THE SIMPLEX MANUFACTURING CORP. OF NEW ORLEANS FROM 1952 UNTIL 1957...IN 1979 DAVE TREEN WAS ELECTED GOVERNOR OF LOUISIANA. HE WAS 50 YEARS OF AGE . HE WAS GOVERNOR FROM MARCH 10, 1980 UNTIL MARCH 12, 1984... THEN.THESE PICTURES WERE MADE BY ME IN COLLINGSTON LOUISIANA, THE DAY OF THE ELECTION.MR TREEN WAS VISTING HIS GRANDFATHERS OLD HOME PLACE, AND I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO SEE HIM THERE, WITH MY SIMPLEX IN THE BACK OF MY 1965 EL CAMINO. . HE WAS VERY EXCITED TO SEE THE SIMPLEX.. HIS CAMPAIN MANAGER FROM THE AREA TOOK PICTURES OF MR. TREEN, AND I VIEWING THE MOTORCYCLE..WE THEN UNLOADED THE SIMPLEX, AND I TOOK THE PICTURE OF MR. TREEN ON THE BIKE. MR. TREEN TOLD ME THAT HE WAS WORKING AT THE FACTORY WHEN THE SIMPLEX AUTOMATIC WAS MANUFACTURED.MR. TREEN WAS THE FIRST REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR SINCE RECONSTRUCTION.THIS SIMPLEX IS FOR SALE ONLY BECAUSE IT IS IN STORAGE, AND NO ONE GETS TO SEE IT..( I HAVE OTHER SIMPLEX BIKES).BUT, I DON'T HAVE BIKES WITH GOOD HISTORY, AS THIS BIKE..I KNOW A GREAT DEAL ABOUT THE HISTORY SIMPLEX BIKES, AND HAVE MANY FRIENDS WITH THE BIKES...I HAVE NOT FOUND ANYONE WITH PICTURES OF THE TREEN FAMILY SITTING ON THE SIMPLEX BIKES. IT WOULD BE NICE FOR SOMEONE WITH A MUSEUM OR DISPLAY AREA TO OWN THIS BIKE..IT WOULD BE NICE FOR IT TO GO TO A LOUISIANA COLLECTOR...IT IS A PART OF THE LOUISIANA HISTORY.TRY AND HELP ME FIND IT A GOOD HOME..I HAVE BEEN SAVING IT FOR OVER 35 YEARS..SPREAD THE WORD..THANKS, JERRY IN W. MONROE, LOUISIANA..EMAIL OR CALL WITH COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS, OR MORE HISTORY, THANKS, JERRY 318 348 3041 WE WELCOME EMAILS FROM SIMPLEX FANS WHO MAY HAVE SOME KNOWLEDGE OF THE SIMPLES BIKES THAT THAT WOULD BE INTERESTING. I HAVE BEEN RIDDING SERVI-CYCLES, AND SIMPLEX FOR OVER 61 YEARS...THANKS AGAIN, JERRY
