I TOOK OFF THE CARB AND CLEANED IT- IT LOOKS LIKE NEW INSIDE AND OUT. THE TANK IS IN GOOD SHAPE, LOOKS CLEAN AND SOLID. THE PETCOCKS HAVE SOME SEALER AROUND THEM- LOOKS LIKE JB WELD OR SOMETHING, BUT I DOESNT SEEM TO AFFECT ANYTHING. THERE ARE NO FUEL LINES FROM THE TANK TO THE CARB. THE CARB IS A MIKUNI. The Hornet was also built by American Motors Corporation (AMC) in Kenosha Wisconsin and marketed under the Hudson brand between 1955 and 1957. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this unique and rarely seen 1953 2 door Twin H Hudson Hornet, truly classic American collector’s find! First-generation Hudson Hornets featured a functional “step-down” design with dropped floor pan and chassis creating a lower center of gravity than contemporary vehicles that aided the car’s handling capabilities which was a bonus for racing. The Hornet’s lower and sleeker look was accentuated by streamlined styling, sometimes called “ponton” styling. The car’s unique, low slung appearance and silky handling earned Hudson an image that – for many buyers – eclipsed luxury marques like Cadillac. The 1953 model year brought minor changes to the Hudson Hornet. The front end was modified with a new grille and a non-functional air scoop hood ornament. Four different body designs were produced: a two-door club coupe, Hollywood hardtop, Convertible Brougham, and a four-door sedan. Hudson Hornet 1953 model year production totaled 27,208 units of which around 910 were the Hollywood hardtops. As a point of interest, an upgraded 8-tube radio was a option. Finished in classic and desirable black exterior over a very original blue/gray cloth interior,  the paint finish and body show extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Inside, the seat upholstery looks great in a crushed velour cloth with no major signs of wear visible. The door panels are finished to match the seats and dashboard are matched to mirror the exterior of the car and all look fantastic. Paint and body are displayed well with  minimal paint issues and no visible evidence of repair or damage that we could find. This nicely represented Hudson is equipped with the optional “twin-H” or twin one barrel carburetor setup, a L-head (flathead or sidevalve) design. At 308 cu in (5.0 L) it was the largest displacement six-cylinder engine in the world at the time. With its unique carb configuration, the engine produces 145 hp which is linked to a Hydramatic automatic transmission, the car also features wide whitewall tires on OEM steel wheels with Hudson hub caps, original AM radio, and set of spare keys (rare!). Its powered by a Ford 302 V8, C-4 automatic, power disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, Ford 9 rear end, coil suspension, 6 real wire wheels, dual side spares, tan leather, rich 2 tone Canyon Copper & Burnished oak paint, rare four seater with a two piece removable hard top. Condition:The interior is excellent, the leather seats have a few scuffs (see the pictures), the dash and door panels look great. It has a real Nardi Italian steering wheel, they sell used for $1200 on ebay. It needs some new windshield wiper blades. The fuel gauge does not work, all the other gauges work and light up at night. The tires are old but have good tread, if you are going to travel or do a lot of high speed interstate, I would suggest a new set of tires. The 302 v-8 runs good, no smoke, it will spin the back tires and it sounds great.The hard top is two pieces, you can remove the front targa top or remove the entire top. The targa top does not line up perfect when on the car, see the pictures.The front brake rotors are new, the master cylinder and power booster have just been replaced. The paint looks real nice however if you look real close you can see a few flaws, but nothing takes away from the overall beauty of the car. Its a real head turner and with the back seat you can take the grand kids to get ice cream, however dont serve it in the car. This is a fun car for shows, parades, or just cruising around on a Sunday. I have it insured with Hagerty classic car insurance for $320 per year, $1,000 deductable. The chrome is in good condition, it is peeling from the inside of the windshield frame. My daughter calls it the Cruella De Ville car from 101 dalmations movie. There is a guy in Florida that has sold a lot of these cars, in the low to mid thirties. I have not seen one that looks this good, suicide doors, dual spares, hard top, trunk, quad horns. The color is a one of a kind custom color. I drove the car a week ago sunday from mansfield to Dallas approx 40 miles. It does well on the highway, the tires vibrate a little. I drove arount Lower greenville and everywhere i stopped there was a crowd, taking pictures and asking questions. If you dont like attention dont take this car out in public. I took my daughter to get yogurt and it took me 30 minutes to get out of the parking lot. its a sharp car and you just dont see one like this every day. PLEASE READ ENTIRE AD: For sale by owner Rare 2009 Ridley Auto Glide Classic in GREAT Condition! Only 4,289 Miles! Hardly broken in. Mileage will go up during sale due to test drives, but will not exceed 4,500. Ridley is an American made fully AUTOMATIC motorcycle. Great for beginners, short riders, disabled, or riders that just don't want to worry about shifting. There is no clutch handle. You start it, give it gas, and go. Basically someone with no experience can get on this bike and drive it hundreds of miles (which is exactly what I did within 20 minutes after purchasing my last Ridley - this Ridley has only been driven about 50 miles since purchase). Less than 2000 ever made total (no clue how many were made with this paint, but I can't imagine it being even close to 1000). In 2009 the Ridley company stopped making bikes and did not do an entire year of production on this bike. First ever Ridley to feature an electronic fuel gauge. I know it's considered a collectors bike, but honestly these bikes are too fun to drive. I loved my 2005 and was really looking forward to driving this daily. It's considered the two-tone custom red and black paint ($500 extra when purchased from the dealer) and also has the black studded seat. Most of the pictures were taken with morning dew on the bike, please excuse that. I sold my last Ridley on here (Check my rating to see how the sale went, they loved it!) and purchased this one because it was not a trike. I felt I was ready for two wheels. We were informed on the 21st of this month that my teen sons insurance will not cover 20% of the cost of his new, needed, lower limp prosthesis and we have met 0 of the large deductible for this year. So, my bike has to go - pretty easy choice for me. This is the ONLY reason I am selling my bike. I drove 16 hours round trip to purchase this bike after my first one sold (this was of course before knowing what the insurance was going to do or the situation we are now in) and honestly would do it again if I had the means and saw this bike for sale. I took this bike apart when I got it home to check all belts and clutch parts, as well as to service it. It's good to go and won't need anything to be driven home from here or for the better part of next season. The next drive belt is due at 8,500 miles. I've also printed out the maintenance schedule for the bike straight from the Ridley site. Runs and drives perfect. Needs nothing. I will be replacing the spark plugs before the new owner picks it up. Could use the carb cleaned because I haven't done it, but it is working fine as is. Condition breakdown: Just did an oil change and it hasn't been 15 miles driven since. Great tread on tires. Clutch belt looks good and won't need replacement any time soon. (I did all the maintenance on my last Ridley and have spoke with Ridley mechanics, as well as the Ridley site for buying parts, regarding what to look for on belt wear.) I did the Transmission/Clutch service right after I bought it and it's only been driven a few miles since that service. I will include the dry spray lubricant for the buyer so you don't have to order it from Ridley the next time you do the service. Just bled the entire brake system and cleaned the brake master out. Brakes amazingly well now. Brake pads and rotors look good and will not need change out soon. Saddle bags are in ok condition, but the tassels are missing on one of the bags. Speedometer works great and is upgraded on the 2009 to be on the tank which makes it a lot easier to see then my last one was. Seat is in great condition for it's age. All lights work, speedo works. Everything, but the horn works which I will try to look at this week, but being that it's the holidays I may not have time. I was told it was garaged all of it's life and from the condition of the paint I believe that. I am the third owner. It was first in Florida and now here in Georgia. No rust! I currently have it in a covered 10x10 tent with my husbands bike. This is considered one of the best sounding Ridleys made. Mimics the Harley sound closer then my 2005 did. You can come look at it, drive it - if licensed, and even have it looked at by a Ridley shop. There is one located an hour or so from our home. I am that certain that this bike is in the condition I am stating. I can use the video face time ap or I'll download another ap you may have to share video of the bike starting and running over the phone. Paint is in GREAT condition with no noticeable flaws. There may be a small scratch or two I haven't seen, but nothing serious. To me it looks almost as good as a new bike, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Please look carefully at the photos and ask for more if you want them. Chrome and Aluminum need polishing. Escorted Test drives only to Licensed Motorcycle riders if you plan to come look at it before buying. I suggest that this is done so there are no issues. Kelley Blue Book has a trade in value of $6860 and a private party sale price listed of $9770. This is with the mileage estimated between 20030 and 30330 for an '09 which this bike is no where near so I feel my asking price is more then fair. Would make a great First bike for the wife or a Christmas gift for a new, short, or disabled rider. Below the instrument cluster is an LED fuel gauge and battery volt meter. Both right and left fuel caps are still accessible for filling the individual, but joined 4.2 gallon stretched tanks. Oil light is to the right of the mileage.
