For 1915 and 1916 only, they offered a passenger car, before returning to what they did best. In 1926 they introduced the “Buddy”– a medium truck with road-going performance During the 1921 model year, the Stewart Company announced that it was going to manufacture its first civilian pickup truck. This new addition was market towards the everyday tradesman or farmer, where the previous models were almost exclusively marketed commercial. The Stewart pickup was then offered as an express, stake, panel and a special farmer’s model. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this very rare 1935 Buddy Stewart Truck 40H. This truck was owned and restored by Walsh Trucking in mid to late 1990’s. It was featured in the book Pickup Trucks by Justin Lukach in 1998. At some point it was acquired and displayed on J&R Vintage Auto Museum in Rio Rancho, NM.. it was bought and mechanically refreshed in 2011.The Kisber Auto Parts sign is hand painted in gold leaf and in the exact address and phone number of Kisber Auto Parts in 1935. According to renown Stewart collectors this particular “Buddy” is  one of one fully restored examples in the country and perhaps the world! This Buddy Stewart pickup is powered by a stock 4 cylinder Waukesha engine that is married to a T83 three-speed manual shifting transmission. Inside the cab is brown upholstery with hand-operated windows and windshield. The exterior is completed with green and black two-tone paint. Highlighting the exterior are red artillery-style wheels with polished wheel caps, wood bed rails, front chrome bumper and a spare tire mounted under the bed. The pickup offered here has been the recipient of a frame-off nut & bolt restoration and shows to be in lovely condition. This nicely restored “Buddy” is quite a piece of automotive history, and that’s why this is so interesting. This is a relatively late example (most car companies that the Depression was going to kill were already dead by this point and the only survivors are the ones that are household names today). Nobody bid this Vision for the past two weeks, waiting for better auction deals that end up going high, so, here's a real deal. Make me an offer and we'll see if we can make it work. I'm pretty flexible, but not giving it away. To make this Vision Premium a Vision TOUR Premium, I have put up pics of the OPTIONAL TOUR PAK TRUNK that turns it into a Premium Tour Model. Note that the Trunk has matching red backrest trim in the same Ostrich pattern that matches the seat. Lots of Vision owners don't use the trunk, but two-up riders really like the trunk. Therefore, I'm offering it as an option for $1000, which includes the $400 chrome trunk rack. If you buy this trunk and rack at the dealer, it's $2000, and doesn't have the matching upholstery. The Trunk does not come with the bike, it is for sale as an option for $1000. This takes the place of the Trunk and gives your passenger something to lean back against. Hard to Find. The Closeout Cover alone is now $260 retail. This Vision Premium has a Power Commander V (Five) which is USB programmable, usually tuned on a dyno for optimal performance. To go with that, it also has straight pipes with hidden mild megaphones at the rear and is good and loud, with free flow. This bike is definitely a smooth bad boy. It can be a bar-hopper or a long-distance tourer. Your choice. The Tour Pak Trunk mounts and dismounts in 5 min. with 4 bolts and an electrical connector for the lights and speakers. It's a good option to consider for long-distance touring with a passenger, etc... If you buy the optional Tour Pak Trunk, I'll mount it for you for shipping or riding home. Either way, you'll enjoy this bike immensely, and the price is right. This is a FINISHED, TURNKEY BIKE, READY TO RIDE, NOT some wrecked salvage bike that "needs a little TLC". Visions are very precise, computer-designed vehicles, and everything must fit properly. You must use expensive factory replacement parts, or the bike doesn't go together properly and it shows. Hidden damage usually reveals many more expensive parts that you don't see in pictures, and the rebuilds are very time-consuming. Rebuilding a Vision is definitely not for a newbie or the faint of heart. It's like a two-wheel Mercedes. Beware when attempting to rebuild a wrecked Vision if you've never built one before. That stiff suspension is great at ensuring the rider gets an authentic feel for the road. There's an NOS Harley electrical system that works well with an NOS Harley accessory carb choke. And everything rolls on NOS Harley rims, which twist NOS Beck tires around NOS hubs and NOS cadmium spokes. DRIVETRAIN After almost two decades of manufacture, Harley had tweaked their flathead engines into well-tuned running gear. That said; 1948 would be the last year of the Big Twin UL, as it and the brand's wildly popular 'Knucklehead' were replaced by an upgraded V-Twin that would eventually earn the nickname 'Panhead'. That means this bike's original, 74 cubic inch flathead was an interesting rarity even in its heyday. Naturally, that VIN-matched powerplant is outfitted with an array of NOS components, including aluminum motor heads and old school primary covers. Electricity still takes the shape of a 6-volt system, which is augmented with a vintage-look gel cell battery. And behind that zero-mile motor, a correct Harley 4-speed processes commands from an NOS Beck gearshift knob.
