Original Moto Guzzi Factory Info: The Stornello is a motorcycle built by Moto Guzzi between 1960 and 1974 . He was born in a period - the end of the fifties - the crisis of the motorcycle market due to the growing popularity of utility cars, which he saw as the only vital sectors mopeds and 125 cc. In the latter area, the Guzzi was present with the Bunting 110 , introduced in 1959 as an evolution of the original model dating back to 1953 . For better control over the end of the eighth-liter, in which the stronger was the presence of Gilera , Moto Morini and MV Agusta , it was decided to set up a new medium with 4-stroke engine , as the rivals (the bunting was a 2-stroke ) . The Stornello , as will be baptized, was ready in 1960 was driven by a single-cylinder pushrod , two -valve parallel transmission 4-speed with foot pedal; with 7 hp at 7200 rev/min was pushing the bike to 100 km/h. At the end of 1961 was presented version of the Sport , with the head inclined valves and a hemispherical combustion chamber, 8.5 hp at 7500 rev / min and 110 km / h, recognizable than the standard model (renamed Tourism ) to the handlebar in sports two pieces and the saddle with pigtail . The 1962 saw the debut on the race track, a version of the Regularity of Stornello with the engine derived from the Sport model increased to 12 hp at 8000 rev / min. The commitment in the off-road, already successful in Mandello with Loyola , also wanted to compete with the Gilera, dominating the category with its 125 Jubilee Regularity . The Stornello Regularity get several laurels, both domestic and international, until 1964 , when the Guzzi retired from racing. In 1965 will be put on the market a replica of the official model, remained in the catalog until 1967 . In 1967 the range was Stornello completely revised, with the entry into production of the versions Sport America (tourist), Italian Sport (sports) and Scrambler , the latter intended for off-road challenge. The following year he was joined by a new version, the 160 , led by a 153.2 cc engine thanks to the increase of the ' bore from 52 to 58 mm (the ride remained at 58 mm). The engine produced 12.6 bhp at 7500 rev/min and pushing the "Stornello 160" to 118 km/h. At the Milan Show of 1969 was presented with a new edition of Stornello, totally redesigned and aesthetics with engine with 5-speed gearbox. This new model went into production in 1971 , both in road version (125 and 160) and scrambler (only 125), remaining in production until 1974 and in the catalog until the following year, when it was replaced by a new model with two motor times of origin Benelli . Stornello the 5-speed was made ??a series destined Army, characterized by green color and small differences from the civilian model. Indian (motorcycle) Factory Information and History Indian is an American brand of motorcycles originally manufactured from 1901 to 1953 by a company in Springfield MA, US, initially known as the Hendee Manufacturing Company but which was renamed the Indian Motocycle Manufacturing Company in 1928. The Indian factory team took the first three places in the 1911 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. During the 1910s Indian became the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world. Indian's most popular models were the Scout, made from 1920 to 1946, and the Chief, made from 1922 to 1953. The Indian Motocycle Manufacturing Company went bankrupt in 1953. A number of successor organizations have perpetuated the name in subsequent years, with limited success. In 2011 Polaris purchased Indian Motorcycles and relocated operations from North Carolina, merging them into existing facilities in Minnesota and Iowa. Since August 2013, three motorcycle models that capitalize on Indian's traditional styling have been built under the Indian name. Indian Motorcycle Company of America (1999-2003) The Indian Motorcycle Company of America was formed from the merger of nine companies, including manufacturer California Motorcycle Company (CMC) and IMCOA Licensing America Inc., which was awarded the Indian trademark by the Federal Court in 1998. The new company began manufacturing motorcycles in 1999 at the former CMC's facilities in Gilroy, CA.. The first "Gilroy Indian" model was a new design called the Chief. Scout and Spirit models were also manufactured from 2001.
