The trunk area will hold several large bags of groceries or two sets of golf clubs. The car has a safety plate windshield, convertible snap on top. Halogen head lights and LED tail lights insure you will be seen. All of the DOT and Federally mandated lights are included. The chassis is constructed of welded round tubing using the specs of SEMA chassis builders. It has a front and rear roll cage as found on a NASCAR type chassis including triple side bars. The body is made in six parts of heavy fiberglass construction and bolted together for easy replacement if damaged due to collision. The brake system is three wheeled hydraulic brakes and a computer controlled electric regeneration brake system. This recovers energy used to get to speed instead of just burning off as heat on the disc brake rotors. While this can achieve 60+ MPH, it is regulated to 50 MPH to be able to get the best range out of the battery pack. The range will vary with driver technique. Factory drivers have been able to easily get 75 miles out of a single charge, but using very energy conscious driving well over 100 miles have been stretched from a single charge. The Aronde line had been released in late 1955, and in the fall of 1957 a pair of sporty models joined the ranks, the Plein Ciel coupe and roadster and the Oceane, both with bodies supplied by Facel of Paris. Fitted with the Flash Special 1,290cc engine, Simcas were efficient cars but lacked the performance of other European and American cars of the era. With a price of $3,167, they were also more expensive than most other cars on the market therefore few were imported. This Simca was originally purchased new in 1961 from Southeast Motor Co. in Wichita, Kansas by a Mr. Joseph Doidge. Then in 1966 Mr. Doidge relocated to Olivehurst, California where the car was driven regularly until 1976 where it was stored in his grandmother’s garage until recently. It is increasingly common to find highly original cars accompanied by original factory documentation and ownership records, this Simca has both. Included with the car are several registration receipts from both Kansas and California, 2 hand notated maintenance booklets, original Simca manuals and most remarkably the original sales order from the dealership where it was sold. Call for details: 320-243-3797WE SELL WORLDWIDE 1971 Norton Commando, no title. It's pretty much complete, but it's in rough condition and needs restoration. At one time, one of our mechanics removed the top end. The pistons were standard, and in fairly nice condition, and the bottom-end was tight. The con-rod bearings were solid and the cams were undamaged. So we considered freshening up the top-end and getting the bike running. But there was so much thick oily sludge in the bottom-end, we felt the crankcases should be split and be more thoroughly flushed and cleaned. We reassembled it -- so-to-speak -- to safely store it until we had time to overhaul it properly. But I have nearly 30 Nortons awaiting restoration, and at 68 years old, I realize I'll never have time to restore them all. So I have decided to sell this one. As it sits now, the kickstarter works and the engine turns over smoothly and freely. We didn't inspect them, but the valves and rockers are installed. Push rods are not installed but are included. The inside of the gas tank looks excellent. Transmission shifts through all gears. Clutch and primary seem good to go. The air cleaner element is missing. Tachometer is missing. Left header pipe is not useable. Mufflers are missing. All cables need to be replaced. Gas cap is missing. Side stand works well. Center stand is missing. Lots of nuts and bolts are missing. Right side cover is missing. No title. Any motorcycle parts that you do not see are NOT included. Please study photos carefully. Feel free to ask for more photos of this Norton. The Evolution engine is known as Harley's best and most reliable powerplant. 1999 is the last year of the Evo. Custom paint from D. Strader Studios looks gorgeous and glossy. It's a one-of-a-kind work by a truly talented artist. There is airbrushed smoke detail in the flames if you look closely. Bike also comes with a large quick-release windshield in excellent condition (not pictured). Factory “blonde” powdercoat on the cylinders makes for easy cleaning (no chrome to clean or black powdercoat to fade). Extras include S&S Super E Carb, forward controls, drag pipes, Pingel fuel petcock and various chrome dress up bits. Starts, idles, runs, stops and turns excellent. Dunlop tires have lots of tread left.I know what it is like to buy a bike or car and find undisclosed flaws after purchase; I would never do that to anybody. I believe that the Willie G skull emblem on the left fuel tank is covering a paint blemish from the previous owner. I see some paint chipped at the bottom edge of the emblem. It's not visible unless you get your eye below the emblem and look up, but I want to disclose it in case you want to remove that emblem. There is a small scratch in the paint just behind the passenger seat. There are no other paint blemishes that I can find. There are no swirls and it has a deep clearcoat gloss. As for the chrome, there is some pitting in the transmission cover and the primary cover you can see in the pics if you look closely. The rest of the chrome looks great. Mechanically, I can't find any flaws. Replaced on 7/1/16: Stator, Voltage regulator, Battery, Primary chain tensioner – changed to Hayden Enterprises automatic tensioner system to eliminate the need to check tension in the futureMaintenance performed on 7/1/16: All fluids replaced with Amsoil synthetic: Transmission, Primary, Engine, Fork oil; Oil filter changed; Oil screen cleaned, Foam air filter cleaned and oiled; Spark plugs replaced; Clutch adjusted, Belt tension checked; Front and rear wheel bearings inspected and repacked with synthetic grease; All cables and levers lubricated; Brake pad thickness checked; Brake rotor thickness checked; Wheel spokes checked and tightened; Battery leads cleaned and tightened; Complete cosmetic detail, polish and wax. All maintenance is done and it is ready to ride. I took it for a 260 mile ride on 7/2/16 and it has been on a battery tender in the garage under a cover since then, waiting for the lucky new owner. It featured an air-cooled 345 cc (21.1 cu in) two-stroke parallel-twin engine, which produced 37 hp (27.6 kW; 37.5 PS) at 7,500 rpm, and could hit a claimed top speed of 95 mph (153 km/h). Approximately 9,000 units were built. It was the last motorcycle built by the company, as they opted to focus on producing tires instead. Introduced in 1967, the 350 GTR was, for its time, a middleweight displacement motorcycle, and used an air-cooled 345 cc (21.1 cu in) two-stroke parallel-twin engine, which produced 37 hp (27.6 kW; 37.5 PS) at 7,500 rpm. Although a mostly conventional design, the engine featured a rotary disc-valve induction system, allowing more precise management of the gasses inside the engine than traditional piston-port systems did. Two of these disc valves were used (one per cylinder), and a 26 mm Mikuni carburetor was bolted to each one.The six-speed gearbox was also a plus point, as was the ability for the 350 GTR's riders to use either their left foot or their right foot to change gear; the gear lever and rear brake pedals could be swapped around in order to allow this. However, the gearbox did cause issues for some riders, as neutral was located in an unusual place; at the top of the gearbox, as most motorcycles placed this gear between first and second. Chassis-wise, the 350 GTR was fairly conventional, as it used a steel twin-cradle frame, gaitered front forks with twin shock absorbers at the rear, 19" wheels and drum brakes.As Bridgestone were not known for their motorcycles, the public were generally skeptical about the 350 GTR, and the bike's high price (close to the much bigger Triumph Bonneville) meant that sales were low; just 9,000 bikes were built between 1967 and 1971. This would be the last motorcycle that Bridgestone ever produced. However, reviewers both past and present have generally been very positive about the motorcycle. Cycle praised the bike's engine, transmission and brakes, also stating that "Never before have so many advanced features been incorporated into a single package." Cycle World praised the bike's styling, its comfortable riding position, and stated that it was "as big and as fast as any 500." Roland Brown of Motorcycle Classics praised the bike's usability, and the responsive nature of the engine. Accelerating out of a curve with the two-stroke engine revving hard, sun gleaming off the chromed tank and a high-pitched exhaust note providing a vivid soundtrack, it’s easy to understand why the 1967 Bridgestone 350 GTR was widely regarded as one of the best Sixties middleweights around. It’s also a bit sad to think that this model was the high point for a firm that abandoned motorcycle production shortly after it was built.The Bridgestone 350 GTR was one of the most sophisticated Japanese motorcycles of the Sixties, featuring a disc-valve induction parallel twin engine as well as generally high quality construction. Almost three decades after it was built, this immaculate GTR impresses with its neat looks, crisp performance and reliable handling. Yet only a few years after this bike rolled out of the factory in 1967, Bridgestone not only ceased production of the GTR but gave up making motorcycles altogether to concentrate on the Bridgestone tires for which the Japanese company is still well known.After riding the twin, that decision seems strange, although it makes more sense when you realize that the little two-stroke was expensive, costing as much as a Triumph Bonneville in some markets. The GTR was good all right, but in most people’s minds it wasn’t that good. Most motorcyclists were unconvinced about the appeal of the relatively little-known Japanese company and its flagship two-stroke twin, with the result that relatively small numbers of GTRs were sold before production ended in 1971. Induction production The most notable aspect of the 350 GTR’s 345cc parallel twin engine was its rotary disc-valve induction system, which allowed much more precise control of gasses than the more simple piston-ported design being used by rival two-stroke roadsters. Ironically, Bridgestone’s Japanese rival Suzuki had considerable experience racing disc-valve two-strokes, but the firm’s 250cc Super Six roadster, also a two-stroke twin, was piston-ported. Suzuki’s experience dated back to 1961, when MZ factory racer and engineer Ernst Degner defected from East Germany, bringing his team’s secrets with him and passing them on.Bridgestone’s twin used a disc valve (one for each cylinder) on each end of its crankshaft, with a 26mm Mikuni carburetor bolted outside each valve. Another neat feature was the “piggy-back” alternator, situated above the engine rather than at the end of the crankshaft, making the GTR unit quite slim despite its side-mounted carbs. Peak output was normally claimed to be 37hp at 7,500rpm, although a figure of 40hp was also quoted in some materials.The GTR’s advanced engine features did not end with its induction. Lubrication was by a Yamaha-style pump-operated system, to which Bridgestone added the refinement of inspection windows for both engine and gearbox oil. The GTR impressed with its six-speed gearbox, and with its facility to swap the gear lever and rear brake pedals to give a left- or right-foot gearchange, both of which were commonly used at the time.Generally the GTR is very easy to ride, and responsive through the rev range, with no evidence of the two-stroke power step that I’d expected. With 40hp on tap (assuming you accept the higher of Bridgestone’s claimed figures for the GTR) the twin is hardly powerful by modern standards. But it is still lively enough to be fun, and to make me understand why the model impressed most people who rode one in the late Sixties.Back in the day, the Bridgestone’s revvy engine and light weight of just over 350lb made the two-stroke a match for almost any bike off the line: Bridgestone quoted a standing quarter-mile time of 13.7 seconds. And even though it wasn’t really as quick as that, the GTR provided plenty of acceleration away from the lights — and if the front wheel did come up occasionally to produce that Sixties rarity of a wheelie, I can’t imagine many wide-eyed owners would have complainedUnfortunately for Bridgestone, the GTR’s quality came at a high price, for in most markets the bike cost considerably more than rival Japanese two-strokes, and it was competing directly with larger-engined four-strokes. It also faced resistance from riders who were dubious about a high-performance two-stroke’s reliability. This concern was not unreasonable, given the problems that early engines had with oil seals, and with broken air filter parts being sucked into the engine.Relatively small numbers were sold following the model’s U.S. introduction in 1966, and the GTR also failed to trouble the sales charts in Europe when it was released there in the following year. By 1968 Bridgestone was coming under pressure from rival Japanese companies, which were also customers for its tires, Bridgestone’s most important product; bikes were really only a sideline. The story goes that Honda applied pressure, suggesting that if Bridgestone wanted to continue supplying the huge numbers of tires Honda purchased, it should consider its priorities. WIKIPEDIA INFORMATION: The Norton Commando was a British Norton-Villiers motorcycle with an OHV pre-unit parallel-twin engine, produced by the Norton Motorcycle company from 1967 until 1977. Initially having a nominal 750 ccdisplacement, actually 745 cc (45.5 cu in), in 1973 it became an 850 cc, actually 828 cc (50.5 cu in). It had a hemi-type head, similar to all OHV Norton engines since the early 1920s. During its ten years of production, the Commando was popular all over the world. In the United Kingdom it won the Motor Cycle News "Machine of the Year" award for five successive years from 1968-1972. Given that its engine was an old pre-unit design, even Norton's chairman, Dennis Poore, expressed surprise at the Commando's remarkable success. Background The origins of the Norton Commando can be traced back to the late 1940s when the 497 cc (30.3 cu in) Norton Model 7 Twin was designed by Bert Hopwood. The twin-cylinder design evolved into 600 cc, then the 650 cc Manxman and Dominator until superseded by 750 cc Atlas before being launched as the 750 cc Commando in 1967. As well as having a radical new frame, the Commando's engine (which was mounted vertically in earlier models) was tilted forward. This was relatively easy as the engine was "pre-unit", that is, the gearbox was not integral with the crankcase, and the change gave three benefits: (1) the centre of gravity was moved further forward; (2) this allowed more space behind the carburetors for the airbox; and (3) it gave an attractive raked appearance to the motorcycle. This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different. The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages. Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration. An example would be a classic vehicle that's being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc. Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored. There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the body, paint, glass, lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components. The consumers are spending thousands of dollars repairing the classic vehicles they've purchased after the sale. A bad purchase could turn into the buyer’s worst nightmare and be extremely costly! It’s only a 25 minute ride from the dealership. I can arrange to pick up at the airport.
