This attention stealing, very attractive, rare and unusual full size Sprint Car is frighteningly quick and handles magnificently and will outperform ANY of the sprint racers on the vintage circuit to which she is so appropriately suited. The custom and completely hand fabricated Sprint Racer with only 4,500 on build and has a very heavy gauge fiberglass nose and boat tail with aluminum and steel panels throughout and is powered by a reliable late model V-6 Buick motor with many high performance racing engine components such as an Edelbrock intake manifold with a 4 barrel Edelbrock carburator, with an aggressive and properly shifting automatic transmission and cored with a custom designed and built chassis sporting coil over shocks with independent rack and pinion steering mated to a 240 Z rear suspension. The overall performance capability of this remarkably fast car will far exceed the expectations and skills of most non-professional drivers. The 80 inch wheelbase has practically new tires and rolling on ultra sporty and expensive authentic Pantera wheels and the car is titled in Florida as a 1952 Morris. All of the annotations are hand painted on the panels by old world artisan sign painters just as the mid 20th. century sprint racers were. This gorgeous 1972 Pantera is the one to own if your idea of fun is actually driving it instead of rubbing it with a diaper, especially with an over-built stroker motor and a slick 2-tone paint combination. The Pantera is a curious, but not unprecedented mixture of Italian craftsmanship and American muscle, and when it was new, there just werent many cars of any kind that could keep up with it. Perhaps its because of that Ford DNA in its history that kept prices low, but today collectors are realizing that these cars deserve a spot in Italys illustrious supercar traditions. That also explains why this one received such a high-end restoration, which, although not totally stock, delivers on the promises made by the Panteras gorgeous bodywork. Black over silver accentuates the 1970s wedge shape, which has aged at least as well as the Ferrari 308 and still commands respect among aficionados. Fit and finish are probably better today than they were when the car was new and the two-tone paint seems to emphasize the American side of the Panteras genealogy, but theres no disputing that this car generates a ton of attention everywhere it goes. The interior is pure Italian, complete with the usual gorilla-style driving position and gated shift lever for the 5-speed manual gearbox. Leather buckets have attractive pleats and textured inserts and theyre surprisingly comfortable for long hauls. The instruments are housed in very cool twin pods with auxiliary gauges running down the center stack and the overall look is unique and very attractive. A leather-wrapped steering wheel feels suitably Italian in your hands and while the shifter takes some muscle and some familiarity, its quite rewarding to master. Youll probably never get tired of the sonorous V8 that inhales and roars just behind your head, but theres also a great-sounding AM/FM/CD stereo fitted horizontally, which is the only way it would work. Pantera popularity continues to skyrocket, and we have another GT4 steel flared example in our showroom ready to hit the open road. This insane Pantera has benefitted from a full ground-up restoration, and no expense was spared on both the interior and exterior -and the powerful engine! The exterior is an illuminating pearlescent white and shows well in the afternoon sun. A Hall Pantera GTS kit has given the exterior an upgrade. A brief word about the Pantera Ford Motor Company under the direction of Henry Ford II(Grandson of Henry Ford) , and the ever capable Carrol Shelby, won the 24 hours of Lemans four years in a row from 1966 to 1969 with their GT40 Supercar. After winning four years in a row , and handing Ferrari it's ass on a platter, Henry Ford II made overt motions to Enzo Ferrari to purchase Ferrari and bring it under the wing of Ford. Enzo was very incensed, and told Ford II that the company was not for sale at any price. So.... Henry Ford II, went looking to purchase an Italian coachbuilder, which he found in Detomaso S.P.A. in Modena, Italy. He also acquired the Ghia studios, and the Pantera was born. The bullet proof 351 Cleveland V8 engine from the Mustang was chosen, and the German ZF five speed transaxle from Ford's GT40 race car was employed to stir the gears. The Pantera was sold through Ford dealerships in the US beginning in 1971. The initial MSRP was slightly over $10,000, though most dealers were selling them for around $14,500. This was about $6,000 less than a Ferrari at the time (in 1971 a new Daytona was about $20k), and the Pantera was noticeably faster. Stock zero to sixty time in 1971 was 5.5 seconds, top speed 175 mph (Road and Track 8/71). Less than 2300 Panteras were sold during their US importation of model years 1971 through 1974. After Ralph Nader lobbied congress regarding bumper laws, importation , and modification for the US market would prove to be too impractical for the US market. Detomaso continued to sell the Pantera to other markets in the world until 1996 on a custom order basis. This is truly an exotic and scarce automobile. This car was secured in 2000 and has had its original 351 Cleveland placed in temporary storage while a bored and stroked Big Block Ford occupy the engine bay. This particular Pantera has always been a driver and kept in a climate controlled garage. It has benefitted from an older restoration and all of the parts came from “Hall of Pantera,” including the front air lift suspension. It is a fantastic example of an exotic looking car with daily driving capabilities.Finished in red, the paint looks great and has a good luster. The paint shows minimal imperfections, such as the rock chips but the car shows very well. It has a very straight and solid body. A GT5, wide body kit has been added and it makes the Pantera look ten times more aggressive looking than it did before! What little chrome is left on the car, such as the door handles, look great with a bright shine and the rest has been “blacked out.” All of the glass is intact and looks great.On the inside of this two seater, the interior looks fantastic. The black upholstery shows no notable wear marks on the bolsters or textured insert. The original dash, gauges and switches are still intact and look great. It should be noted that the headliner in the Pantera sags a little bit and the driver side carpet does have some wear but overall the black carpet is in good shape. There is also an aftermarket Kenwood AM/FM/CD player installed in the dashboard.This Pantera is a rear mounted engine car powered by a 351 cubic inch, 4 bolt main Cleveland V8 with a 4 barrel Holley Performance carburetor. 1989 Pinifarina Laforza GT Built in 1989 by Pininfarina in Turin, Italy for Rayton-Fissore and sent to Laforza in California. The Laforza/Rayton-Fissore Magnum was designed by Tom Tjaarda, whom also designed the De Tomaso Pantera, to compete as a luxury off-roader with the Land Rover Range Rover. The body is steel on a shortened IVECO 40.10 chassis that is so sturdy that when running through its U.S. safety regulations test it ran straight through the wall. Now onto the details: The hand-stitched leather is still in decent condition, with the driver's seat being the most worn, but there aren't any holes, etc.. The center console is also showing its age but the buyer will also get a new center console (pictured). The Blaupunkt speakers still sound great and the Pioneer stereo w/ auxilary jack works perfectly. All electrical components work, including 4-wheel drive, power steering, power windows and door locks, cruise control, power seats, alarm system, air conditioning, and heating. The cloth ceiling liner is beginning to sag but it's only really bad in the load area. Outside it's in great condition for its age. This particular one belonged to the CEO's wife and was garage-kept for most of its life. The turn signals, tail lights, day-time running lights, and brake light are all brand new (from the warehouse). LaforzaMZ installed his electrical upgrade, so there aren't any electrical gremlins. The paint is in decent condition, but as you can see there's a bit of damage on the front driver's side. There's nothing structural wrong with the damage but the bumper is off its bolts and there's a dent in the fender. The car's steel exterior is galvanized so there aren't any rust issues regarding the dent. This damage is part of the reason I'm selling the truck at a lower price. Other than that, there's some fading on the roof and slight surface rust on the hood. Underneath, the truck is very clean. Extremely minimal surface rust. Most of underneath looks as though the truck might be only a few years old. The Ford Mustang GT 5.0L engine runs really strong. During the recent winter month's snow storms, the truck ran through without any problems. It's really reliable and the miles shown on the odometer are true. The Speedline Corse rims are in okay condition, but one rim is missing the center cap (I believe someone stole it). The front tires however need to be replaced. As stated before, there are quite a few new parts with this vehicle. I had intended on completely restoring it, but I no longer have the time or space.
