1998 DUCATI 900ss FE $395 Flat Rate Shipping, Here we have a 1998 Ducati 900ss FE. #246 of 300 imported to North America. Owned by our General Manager at MotoCorsa this bike is fully serviced and ready to go, belts, all fluids have been replaced, new tires. In addition to being completely serviced this bike has flat slide carbs for improved performance, throttle responce and power. The FE stands for 'Final Edition', Based on the 900SS SP, the FE comes dressed in elegant silver bodywork and black wheels, with carbon fiber rear fender, dashboard cover, and countershaft drive cover. A solo (monoposto) seat completes the stunning visual impression. But there's more than just skin deep beauty in the FE. To back up the race-bred look, a few additional changes were made as well. The exhaust pipes have been raised to provide improved cornering clearances. New cast iron floating brake rotors have been fitted with remote reservoirs and adjustable levers. New cylinders, alternator, and voltage regulator have been added. The resulting combination will assure that the thrill of the ride matches the beauty of the machine. Limited to just 300 bikes in North America, the 900SS FE is the last of the 2nd generation SuperSports to be produced by the Bologna factory. Never restored, never repainted, never crashed first generation Speed Triple. I hunted for 2 years to get this one and secured it from a collector in Tucson AZ. Being dry climate and hardly used, it was cosmetically perfect, but had a bikini fairing and bar risers added. I had Cascade Classics of Portland OR completely go through it to get it back to stock, then started from there to refine it more. I have enjoyed riding her around Oregon backroads, sometimes taking my kids for rides, but now it doesn't get used. When I have time for riding I use the Ducati or Aprilia sport bikes. My policy is: if I don't ride it she has to go; hence selling the one bike I said I will never sell! Featuresbeautiful condition original Speed Triple that made the Hinckley bikes famousperiod 1995 Super III exhaust system. Tuned for this exhaust (much time/money here). Runs better than new (dyno charts proves it)invested $2,000-$3000 per year whether it needed it or not e.g. new rubber breather hose, flushed/cleaned radiator overflow tank, fitted new front brake pads with modern Triumph safety pins.at oil/filter changes, oil comes out looking new. Uses no oil whatsoever. No rattles or noises. Silky smooth powerNever had engine apart, never crashed, never restored, never repainted, seat never recovered. Cam covers removed at 9,000 miles to check valve clearance; didn't need adjustment.Woodcraft clip-ons, original period bikini fairing, OEM mirrors, unpainted cowl, spare orange grab rail, race 3-1 headers, manual, original documents: DMV docs, service receipts, bill of sale etc Defectsshallow depression in gas tank. A common story is a person buys one for $3,500 to get a pretty good one, then they spend much more than that over the next year or 2 trying to make it better. And it never is perfect. This bike came from an Arizona collection before me, which is a dry climate. It means that under the seat is clean and fresh looking with original manufacturers stickers still in tact on frame, seat base, wiring etc. So my asking price is very reasonable for the discerning buyer who appreciates the intrinsic value of the core bike together with the meticulous subtle improvements I have made. Nothing more to spend on this one except shipping. And gas. I wont sell it for Kelly Blue Book price or general market value of a '95 Hinckley bike.
