For sale, museum piece or vintage racer! This bike was one of the last bikes to run on the beach at the Daytona 200. Jake Bodimer rode this bike there in 1958,1959 and the last year in 1960. His best finish there was 1959 with a 10th place finish. He rode this bike well into the 60's. These bikes were produced and raced from 1952 until it was replaced with the famous XR in 1969. This bike was a road racer in its day and the motor was put into a early year XL frame for the suspension instead of hardtail frame, making it much more competitive at races like Daytona. This bike also ran on flat tracks like the Springfield Mile in 1965. Great to see race records that recorded the VIN number of the bikes that raced! Anyone who knows old bikes will like the names that Jake raced against in 1965! I am the 4th owner of this great old racer. The 81 on the number plates commemorate Jakes 10th place finish in the Daytona 200 in 1959. The engine was replaced after he blew the engine on the first lap of the 1960 Daytona 200. A replacement engine was restamped by Jake. This bike was owned and raced by Jake until the late 60's then it was sold to a guy in Louisiana and then Richard Ennis of Hot Springs bought it in 1975 and would race it occasionally in vintage races. I got the bike from his estate when he passed away. He ran the number of 3n on it and his XR he owned. This is a rare chance to get one of 16 1957 KR's, especially one with race history. I have the title that was issued to Richard from the state of Louisiana in 1975 and the bill of sale where he purchased the bike.

The sale is a complete package including the complete original disassembled engine plus a fresh barrel with matching head. The crank is suspect needing a rebuild. Not included are the front brake internals and a proper year fairing When I originaly bought the bike, it had been recently retired from the local racing scene [Westwood & Mission] with the only mods from original being an alloy front rim with a disk brake conversion and a later year TZ faring & seat. The alloy front rim, disk, caliper & handle bar hydraulic unit are included in the sale if wanted, the faring & seat went to a Cafe racer build. This bike is not for the faint of heart or the novice racer. The sidecar is powered by an XS650 engine and the frame is new. This is a one of a kind frame build. Built by a builder that raced these sidecars in the US and Europe. This was built by Dutch Trash Choppers in Portland, OR. This Vintage Roadracing Sidecar is not fully complete, it has some things still needed to make it complete. This was being built to be raced in the SRA (Sidecar Racing Association) yearly racing series. It was built to the legal specs to race in the vintage sidecar series. Still Needed to be Complete: Wiring - the sidecar needs to be wired Fuel System - the sidecar needs a fuel cell Welds - most of the welds are done (in need of some tacked areas to be finished) Brakes - brakes are in place (need to be hooked up and adjusted) Chain - needs to have a chain installed Seat - needs to have a seat pan and padding (have template for seat pan) Includes everything that is seen in these photos. Up for sale is a 2007 Ducati 1098s (never down or wrecked) with 3700 miles on the frame and 1200 miles on the engine. This bike has a very good lineage behind her, being Michael Woolaways (Deus Ex Machina Head Mechanic) personal bike and was built to the kilt in WSBK/RS Components. Donny Unger built up the motor up in Ducpond, she has a WSBK bottom end and supersport top end. The bike makes about 170hp at the rear wheel and is tuned for pump and track fuel. She has selective mapping installed for a easy swap from fuel to fuel. She is also outfitted with Quick shift, Traction control and a fuel management system. I also will be throwing in a box of spares like coils, levers, waterpump, etc. If you're looking for a cheaper bike, yes there are cheaper 1098s models out there. However, they do not have near the modification, nor service history and new components like tires, chain, fluids, belts and pretty much everything else on them. Sure, the exhaust isn't a full termi or akrapovic system, but it more than makes up for it. If you would really like to have a full exhaust, I can find you one (Typically $1k) and install it free of charge. The price can be negotiated if that is an absolute deal breaker. I also have many more items I can add if you would like to have a flashier bike, but I can assure you the sound will be something you haven't heard before.
