Built on a 1968 Volkswagen Bug, with an 1835 dual port/dual carb. Stock VW 4-speed trans.Great looking car, every time I take it out, I get thumbs up, honks, people taking pictures with their cell phones, etc... If I park it anywhere, at a restaurant, or store, I come out to people taking pictures, and talking about it...It was redone about 300 miles ago... YES 300 miles, after having most everything redone on it.Beautiful interior, dash, etc... NOT the normal kit car plastic/fiberglass everything... this was done RIGHT!!!Beautiful red paint, with all Ferrari emblems.Has nice DVD with Bluetooth. Absolutely beautiful !!! But sad to say with all good there is always the BAD... Currently NOT RUNNING... think there is a fuse or wire that is not allowing it to have power, electric power. I was doing some work to it, putting in higher end spark plugs, 10mm wire set, and replaced the stock coil with a higher output, started it up was running fine, turned it off to go get some water, and when came back out and tried to start again... nothing, even the radio had no power, a few of the lights were working. I think I might have blown a fuse or maybe a wire shorted. But was 11pm at night, and haven't had a chance to really get back to it, I did look at any of the fuses that I could easily see, but I just don't have enough hours in the day. We just bought a business that is taking all my extra time.Also want to say that the doors could probably be aligned a little better... They work fine, but need to be lifted up just a bit when you close them... Just trying to be as honest as I can with everything... Clean California title in my name... Kelmark GT kit car, clear title, on '69 VW pan. This could be a fun project or you may just need the parts from it. Custom roll cage, front disc brakes, drum in rear, custom rear suspension, has fuel tank and all steering components. Both fiberglass seats are there as well as original seat covers. Been sitting for several years so I am sure the wiring will need gone through. Doors are not bolted on. I have glass for one door only. The rear section was cut out, but could easily be fiberglassed back in since it is not structural.Previous owner had a non-VW shifter in the car so the upper center tunnel has a section cut out. Will need new section welded in for a VW shifting arrangement. As you can see from the pictures no engine or transmission is included. Set up for dry-sump engine, so there is a Porsche 911 oil tank and some nice oil lines still in the car. This Kelmark II was once owned by Russ Keller, Engineer at Kelmark. Russ told me only 7-8 "body bucks" were produced with the "bird bath nose". they eliminated this feature because of difficulties removing the bodies from the molds. The Kelmark II's do not have roll down windows, instead the windows can be installed or removed. I have the glass for the windows. I install the glass for winter storage but remove them when parked in the garage during summer months. Authentic Ferrari parts include Front Bumpers ($2500) Cromodora 14 X 6.5 wheels with center caps and lug bolts ($6000) Ferrari emblem ($165) Side marker lights complete ($725) Horn button ($125) Replica steering wheel ($750) Ferrari shield emblems ($325) Front Dino badge ($325) Ferrari horse in grill ($100). New GPS gauge package from speedhut ($825). Transmission is 4-speed VW "Pro-Street" build by Rancho Performance in California. The clutch and pressure plate are from KEP (Kennedy Engineered Products) Stage II designed to handle 220lbs torque. Engine is a FORD 2.8L modified with Racer Walsh performance kit. Front suspension is Mustang II and everything was rebuilt using new parts including the steering box. STRANGE adjustable Coil-over shocks on all four corners. Frame is a custom built tube frame by Mid-Engineering. The floor pans are custom made from 1/4" aluminum with a 4-1/2" drop. (I'm 5'11 and have about 2" clearance above head when seated). The wheels were restored and are wrapped with new BF Goodrich tires (2000 miles). The rear bumpers are 63 Corvette bumpers with the downspouts cut off. Tail lights (6) are Fiat 850 Sports Coupe. (tail lights are fitted with LED sequential) The FORD 2.8L engine is Mid Engine mounted. Gas tank is custom made from aluminum is mounted in the rear compartment lid. The fuel can be put in the tank through the pillar mounted gas cap or directly into the tank through top mounted gas cap. Original Kelmark seats. Shaved door handles (Key fob opened) with interior door panel mounted door opener handles. THERE IS NO HEATER OR A/C! The radiator is a new Monte Carlo radiator wit new dual fans mounted up front. Car does not overheat at all. Exhaust tubes are stainless steel to great sounding mufflers. (Car sounds like a V-8). Dash is original old style Kelmark with Rosewood veneer. Door panels are carpeted also have Rosewood veneer (I haven't installed arm rests yet but have started them using solid walnut wood) Car drives great and handles as well as it drives. I have over $15,000 invested rebuilding the car adding nothing for labor. All of the bumpers & side marker lights were re-chromed. I have all of the Kelmark information in a binder along with pictures taken during the re-build. This is one nice looking, head turning car. If you like attention this car will definitely bring all you can handle. The picture Orange Car, is this same car back in the mid 80's before it sat for 20 years. It had 1400 miles on the odometer when I purchased it. Buyers with fewer than 25 POSITIVE transactions on eBay must get prior approval from me before bidding.
