Up for sale is a 2006 Kawasaki KLX 250s dual-sport in very nice condition. It has 4000 miles, which will go up slightly as I will surely take a few good-bye rides :) I've decided to sell it to put money towards a street-only bike. I ride plenty of dirt, but I prefer my MX bikes for that kind of action and can't see myself taking this one off-road. It runs great with no bogs or hesitations, and start up instantly with the touch of a button. Many late-model KLXes are plagued with hard-starting problems as this one was, but I installed a 38 pilot in the carb, removed the snorkel, oversized the starter jet and it fires up easily and consistently. The previous owner installed a KLX 300 muffler because they are less restrictive and add H.P. but retain the stock muffling characteristics. It has surprisingly good power for a 250 and has no problems cruising at 70-75 (I've never tried to go much faster but I believe it will to closer to the 90s). The clutch works well and it shifts through all gears as it should, and both brakes work properly as well. I checked valve clearance less than 200 miles ago and they are still within spec. All electronics are in good working condition with working headlight, tail light, brake lights, and turning signals. The tires are knobby but are DOT-approved with approximately 80% tread left, and they do a pretty good job of gripping the road and should do a fair job in the dirt as well. There is slightly dryrot on the front tire, but it is still usable. The battery is newer and holds a good charge, and I will included a nice trickle charger with a quick-connect battery attachment so it can be maintained. I recently installed a new front aftermarket fender, but I will also include the stock one which is in decent condition and also the snorkel that was removed. It has Tusk aluminum handlebars, Tusk D-Flex handguards, and an aftermarket aluminum engine skid plate. There are a few scratches here and there and the graphics have some slight rash on them, but the bike is in overall very good condition. I have a clear Ohio street legal title for this bike which will be notarized when you pick up the bike or have it shipped. This listing is for pick-up only, but I will assist with shipping any way I can and I am always glad to deal with international buyers. I am centrally located in Cincinnati and can usually find a shipper for 200-400 to most states, and I will personally deliver it for 60 cents a mile. I would only charge for one way so 100 miles=$60 and I will deliver within 200 or so miles from my house. Thanks for looking!
