As a former road racer, I appreciate balance, performance, speed and abhor excess weight. Three out of four ain't bad! I bought the Cavalcade because my brother owns a 2010 Harley FLTHC and I needed something to ride at the Harley's cumbersome pace and the Suzuki was available. Harley owners, please don't be offended, but did you ever watch a FLTHC make a U turn on a narrow two-lane blacktop? As with most all pre-owned vehicles I purchase, some work needed to be done to sort it out. The usual items needed to be replaced; tires, battery, fluids, filters, brakes, fork seals, caliper duct boots etc. The Cavalcade forum warns about the bikes only weak link, (oil in the secondary drive unit sneaking out through a deteriorated rubber plug). I dissembled the drive unit and made the recommended fix. It would be a shame to consider only this bike's age for it was ahead of its time, (auto level air suspension, cruise control, self canceling turn signals and air bladder seats). Yes it has four carburetors but they are so simple in design and easy to synchronize if needed, (synchronization has been done). Power: It RIPS, really! I don't know what the 1/4 mile times are, but wick the throttle and this V4 torque monster will twist the rear tire. Grab a handful and the air intake wails as those big quiet mufflers speak with authority. Balance: For an 800 pound machine, the Cavalcade keeps C of G low as the fuel cell is under the seat and the V4 is compact. After installing the new tires I had to see just how far I could pitch it over. On a few of my favorite back roads I found myself hitting surprising lean angles. For a big machine It has great excellent ground clearance. The riders foot pegs hit tarmac first but they do fold up. Because of the big fairing, big seat and wide body, I had to get accustomed to not "setting up" for corners. Yeah, Its like riding a fast easy chair! Speed: The Cade will hit the ton with lots of reserve. Cruising at 73 to 75mph, it will return on average 36 mpg. I'm sure at 55 mph, (what fun is that), it will get 40+mpg. The top trunk is cavernous easily swallowing two full face helmets. The saddle bags are well designed with heavy chrome lockable latches and do not leak even in heavy downpours. Alas, I miss the lighter narrower machine that I can park beside my wife's car and easily push uphill out of my garage. I did once push the Cade up my driveway but it was a slow struggle. This Suzuki was previously listed on Ebay and primarily due to the high dollar LED lights the reserve was just over $3K. I have reduced the price significantly however, the two sets of LEDs pictured on the bike do not go with the bike! If you want the high $$ LEDs, purchase them from Clearwater in California. The RED US Suzuki Service Manual is included with the purchase.

Getting old, bad back, hip and knee guess it's time to sell the old gal to someone who will enjoy her. I don't think I even have 1000 miles on it the last three years. I'm the third owner but the second was just a broker, he'd buy and sell Cades. Bike has 53,500 miles. 1400cc V-4. new voltage regulator, stainless steel front brake lines, master cylinder rebuilt, new radiator switch, has rebuilt radio from Cade King, has Tracy's replacement clutch switch, new battery and tender from last year, tires have about a third tread left, and main seat recovered with aftermarket seat cover (not original Cavalcade replacement). Looking for $3250 OBO.

In 2013, I bought this motorcycle to join a Cavacade Club and tour the U. S. A. but, soon realized, this 1400 cc ; 800+ lb. motorcycle is too much for me to handle - at least until I get a few year's riding experience under my belt. Also, since this motorcycle has been in storage for several years, one can assume, it needs some restoration. Instead of having it restored, I have since bought a smaller bike. .......................................................................................................................
