For sale: 2005 Suzuki DL650 V-Strom. Old, and lots of miles, but in great mechanical condition. Engine runs strong, lots of torque. I've owned this bike for over a year now, but bought an R6 to start racing. This bike is great in the city (lots of low-end torque), great on the highway (has plenty of pull at 80+ mph), perfect for long-distance touring and two-up riding. Firstly, a few facts: - I bought it from the original owner, who imported it from Canada. The instrument cluster was (and odometer) in kilometers only, not miles. I replaced the cluster with a mph/kph model from eBay when I bought it. I will supply the original cluster with the bike. - Original odometer had ~50k miles on it when I bought it. - New odometer has ~75k miles. Actual mileage should be around 55k (basically, just subtract 20k from the current odometer). - Yes, this is a high-mileage bike, but anyone seriously interested in a V-Strom would know that these engines last forever. I've heard reports of over 200k before overhauls. - All the major wear parts have been upgraded or replaced, and engine runs great. Valves were adjusted and fork seals replaced at 50k miles by original owner. - There's some road rash on left side of the fairing from the original owner. Said it was a small/slow crash. Replaced the crash bars after. No frame damage. Maintenance/upgrades: - Chain and sprockets replaced last year (maybe 5k miles) --- Chain is a DID 525VX, stock length and pitch --- Front sprocket upped to 16 teeth. For sale is my white, 2013 Suzuki DL650A Vstrom, about 12,500 miles. I'm selling it because I'm moving to the midwest and am going to need a car. It is in excellent mechanical and aesthetic condition and has been babied its entire life. I am the original owner and I have used it for commuting. I've added many aftermarket items to enhance safety/bike protection. Accesories that have been added are Acerbis hand guards, an Altrider crash bar, a Givi skid plate, Enduro Guardian radiator guard, SV Racing Parts fork brace, front fender extender, and a 2x2 cycles bicycle rack. The bicycle rack allows for very convenient mounting of a bicycle and I have used it very often. It also makes carrying any cargo a lot easier. I am including the OEM Suzuki aluminum side cases which sell for a thousand bucks separately, as well as a Giant Loop Fandango tank bag. The luggage is very roomy and ready for any adventure. The chain and sprockets are still just like new - no signs of wear - but I have a replacement chain and front and rear sprockets that I'll give the buyer for whenever they need to be changed in the future. I also have an OEM air filter new in the box if you want it. Extra care was taken during the break-in period and the oil and filter have been changed every 2000-3000 miles since with Amsoil synthetic. The tires are Michelin Pilot Road 4 Trails and still have thousands of miles left on them. The bike just had it's first valve job done at Temecula Motorsports as part of a Suzuki inspection recall maintenance. No problems were suspected and none were found. All brake pads were just replaced/upgraded and brake fluid changed out. This bike is very comfortable and easy to ride, fuel efficient (I averaged about 55mpg), and narrow enough (without the cases attached) to easily slip through San Diego traffic. 2005 Suzuki V-Strom 650, I have a red 2005 Suzuki Vstrom 650 for sale. It has been a great bike for the past few years but I just bought a brand new bike and have no need for two. This bike can do everything from canyon carving, dirt trails and roads, to long distance touring. This bike has one of the strongest 650 cc engines I have ever ridden. This bike is loaded with extras. It has an adjustable windscreen (no tools needed), hand guards, metal radiator screen, metal skid plate, engine crash bars, front fork brace (adds to stability), Jesse Luggage rack and full metal adventure panniers, a Suzuki service manual (the big thick version that the mechanics use in the shops), a stock Suzuki gel touring seat, and the seat pictured on the bike has been modified by Mean City Cycles (meancitycycles.com, memory foam mod option). The modified seat has been broken in and is extremely comfortable. I can do 500+ miles in a day with no issues. Also included is a small magnetic tank bag that was not pictured which has several pockets and a see through map pocket. This bike is a high mileage bike (87000+) but it has been well taken care of. I am only the second owner and the person I bought it from worked as a motorcycle salesmen and bought the bike brand new in 2005. The oil has been changed every 3500 miles and the oil filter every 7000 (as recommended in the Suzuki service manual). This bike has plenty of life left and is extremely reliable. I have never had an issue with it. Every mechanic I have talked to says that they routinely see Vtroms with well over 100,000 miles. Also included is a set of new spark plugs (won't need to be replaced for 10,000 miles, and an extra set of headlight bulbs. The current tires have approximately 70-80% tread left and the chain/sprockets have approximately 2,000 miles on them. I also have a set of off road knobby tires left over from the previous owner with approximately 50% tread left. This bike has been all over North America and down to Chile and back. It is a very reliable bike that is ready for anther 80,000 miles or more. I have included pictures of a small scratch on the left side of the bike as well as a pic of the damage to the right hand guard. This bike has never been down in the street but the previous owner did tell me he crashed one time in deep sand. Feel free to call or text with any questions. Up for sale today is my pride and joy, a 2005 Suzuki V-Strom! Just put brand new fork seals and fork oil and overhauled both front brakes at a local shop, including all new seals and pads. It is an uncommon color (red) and is super clean, never been crashed or down. Tires are in excellent shape, chain just lubed, oil change was done 250 miles ago.
