Virtually flawless low-mileage original condition bike in dry storage since 1983. Just over 8,000 original miles. No rust, pitting, corrosion or dry rot anywhere. Paint and chrome are like new. Electrical all in good working order. Brand new tires. Fuel and brake system flushed, new OEM petcock and fuel hoses installed, carbs professionally rebuilt. I removed a king/queen seat, luggage rack and Vetter fairing from the original and added new tracker bars, grips, mirrors (not shown), headlight, and turn signals from Dime City Cycles. The seat is a custom leather cafe style seat. I also put on new tank badges and a milled aluminum license plate holder with integrated LED rear tail and brake lights. I replaced the non-working OEM horn with a modern replacement. That's it. I removed the center stand and rear pegs for appearance and weight but these will come with the bike along with all other original parts. The only flaw is the paint finish is dulled at the back of the tank where it contacted the original seat, but it's hard to notice. Also one of the tabs is partially broken on the left side cover but it still fastens securely. Starts right up, runs strong, handles smoothly and is very fast. Nothing needed, ready to ride. Bikes that survive in this condition are very rare and this is a sweet bike. I hate to let it go, but its time for the next project. This is a 1981 Suzuki GS550 with 97 original miles. A little history about the bike. The first owner bought the motorcycle in New Jersey brand new. When he brought it home his wife threatened to divorce him if he rode it ever again. It sat for 30 years in his garage with 65 miles. I purchased this bike from my friend who is a collector. He had purchased it about 4 years ago. He just recently disassembled and cleaned the carbs, and put 30 miles on the bike. It currently sits with 97 original miles. It could use a good detail. Just recently installed a new battery, starts right up. This bike still isn't broken in yet, and still has the nubs on the original tires. It is missing the battery clamp, a bolt for the chain guard (M6 I believe), and the Suzuki tool kit. I don't know much about motorcycles but will do my best in answering any questions. It has a clear West Virgina title, being sold As-Is Where-Is. Local pick up only, I will not ship. I am flexible on pickup, and can store it for a couple weeks for you. 1978 Suzuki GS550 with 24,xxx miles. Missing the left side cover, front tire is worn and will need replaced, rear tire is great. There are some holes toward the rear of the mufflers but the bike sounds good. The seat has separated at the seam (see pictures). The ignition key does not match the seat and fuel cap key-I had to put a new ignition switch in. With the bad said, the bike runs great, look good too. Has a New Battery. Has Electric start and kick start. It is a nice clean bike, but not perfect. Tank is clean inside. I hate to sell such a nice clean classic, but I have way too many bikes and need to get rid of a few to raise the funds for some projects. This would be a great bike to get and ride or do a café racer. I have a clear title in my name. Up for sale is my 1982 Suzuki GS550L. This bike is all original and in good condition for its age. I purchased this back in early December with full intentions of tearing it down and making a cafe racer project out of it. Well things changed and I don't have time for it anymore. The previous owner had the carbs gone through and the tires are in good condition. I put a battery in it a few weeks ago. The bike runs good and all lights and such work, even the gear position indicator. I rode it all of bike week with no issues. Pretty hard to find a bike like this in such good shape. Ready to make a nice cafe project or ride as is! Stock pipes are gutted and it also has lower positioned bars, I have the stock bars and center stand. I'm asking $2500 OBO. For sale a 1981 Suzuki GS550T. This is a wonderful first motorcycle for someone or, with a little bit of work, it could become a great bike for years to come. Since I've owed this bike I have done much of the work on it that should have been done by the previous owner, including: new tires, new battery, new chain, rebuilt the carburetor, new rubber intake boots, switched to electronic ignition, all the various lights are new, replaced the regulator rectifier with a more reliable Honda model, wired in a switch to bypass the old ignition wiring, new plugs, new throttle cable, new clutch cable, new choke cable, rebuilt the fuel pet cock, and of course, I have changed the oil and filter every year I have owned it. I have also, for every time I take out one of the Japanese phillips bolts, I've replaced it with a brand new stainless steel hex bolt. Currently, the bike runs very strong while it is running, however, it can be a little difficult to start at times. I believe it needs a tune up. You will also note in one of the pictures that there is some electrical tape on the front master cylinder reservoir. That was on it when I got it, and the bike has stopped incredibly well since I've had it, so I decided to leave well enough alone. I also have the left side cover, it just needs to be glued back together. Additionally, you will notice the safety bars on the front of the bike, which protect the engine in the event of laying the bike down or getting it knocked over. This bike is very much fun to drive, it can rev really high, but at the same time it can be a pleasant and quiet bike in the city at the low revs. If you have questions or need more pictures, feel free to contact me.
