Great condition for its age. The mileage does not seem to affect performance. Garage kept. The Bike runs well, Burgundy paint job, chrome still in good condition. A few rust spots but nothing major, most just in a few bolts that could be EASILY replaced. *NEW BATTERY*Back rest for passenger. The only things it needs, to my knowledge, to be road ready is a horn (inexpensive) and probably brake pads. I paid $1347 for it after tax and title. It is in fact a salvage bike so it will need inspected, but a few minor fixes and she should be good to go! Selling *as is*Asking $1200 or best offer, I believe this is very fair considering what I paid and I've never rode it outside my neighborhood. I am selling my 1987 VS 700 Intruder with less than 16,000 original miles because I just don't have the time to ride it and the wife is beginning to complain cuz it's taking up garage space. It's in very good condition, but not perfect. It has a scratch here and a smudge there: 2 minor scratches on the front fender along with a smudge, and a small paint imperfection next to the gas cap. You'd be hard pressed to find a bike of this model year in better condition. Shaft drive - engines (double overhead cams) and transmissions on these bikes were practically indestructible! I had it custom painted a candy apple blue a few years ago and had the factory decals installed. Pros: Ready to roll: pay me and drive away. New tires installed last year - maybe 300 miles on 'em. No fluid leaks. Battery is in good condition. Always garaged and covered. Installed VS 1400 rear shocks so you can haul a hefty passenger. Rides well, drives well, and is very dependable. Has the 1 year very limited aluminum wheels - every other year and every other Intruder came with spoked wheels. Has the Cobra aftermarket drag pipes (cost $550.00), with some bluing mainly close to the heads and extending down the pipes about 12" - 14". Installed hi-way bar. Installed cruise control - throttle lock. Cons: Not much! If I had to list a con or 2 it would be that the bike starts cutting out around 80 mph (though I've had it up to 130 mph). I had it tuned last year with new plugs, air filter, radiator flush and fluid change, fuel filter, oil changed (always used Amsoil 10W-30 synthetic), and carbs cleaned and synchronized. I may have put 250 - 300 miles on the bike since the tune up. The mechanic said it just needs to be ridden (which I don't do) and it will clean itself out eventually. I tried to change out a burned bulb in the instrument panel but it didn't go according to plan and a piece broke. I have another instrument panel that will go with the bike if you want to have it replaced. My mechanic said he'd swap the instrument panel out for a Franklin, but it's not all that difficult to change yourself. I also have the service/tech manual that will go with the purchase. This bike is in EXCELLENT condition with no problems, and has LESS than 15K miles on it. I've babied this Suzuki VS1400 Intruder; and it's always been kept in the garage. Last year, I spent $1,000 to have the front end raked out with extended forks, mini ape-hangar handlebars, saddle bags, and semi-loud pipes. This spring, I spent $700 at Prattville PowerSports having a complete tune up, new starter, and carburetor rebuilt. The only issue this bike has is a couple of dents on the gas tank (you can see in the photos), but there's no rust on the dents. I bought it that way 5 years ago and just never got around to fixing them. This year, I bought a gallon of auto-body filler ("bondo"), but since I've never done any "body work," I was too chicken to try to fill the small dents, then give it a new paint job. I'll give you the new gallon of filler and wish you luck. :^D The wife says I have to sell it.
