1998 Honda Valkyrie Trike, We just traded for this 1998 Honda Trike, the previous owner installed new tires, Battery and then parked it under a cover on a car port. It has alot of rust on the chrome parts, alot of pitting on the aluminum parts. The paint is good with a few chips on the left fender. It runs and rides real good it just looks bad, the throttle cable covers are rusty, the front wheel is dull and needs to be polished, the rear wire wheels are rusty. The seat is good, the rear backrest looks like part of an office chair. The matching backrest is in the trunk along with a new set of chrome levers. The left turn signal does not work, it looks like the bulb got hot and melted the lens. The motor runs strong, the gas smelled old, I put in new fuel, she runs good, no smoke or leaks. I had to use the choke to start it, one warm it idles smooth. I would suggest an oil change, brake fluid flush on this bike, we can do this for an extra charge. I also noticed the fork seals are leaking a little, I would also suggest new fork oil and fork seals, or keep an eye on them and replace when they start to drip. It has 45,000 miles which is not alot of miles on a honda motor. We are selling this bike as a 'Scratch & Dent ' Special, we are selling it 'as is' we are not going to wash it, change oil or do anything to it. What you see is what you get. Please look at all the pictures and watch the video. This trike will sell fast because there are no Honda trikes for this price for sale today. If you want a show trike please spend $20,000-$30,000 and buy a newer one and don't consider this one. If you want alot of trike for the money and you dont mind doing a service and clean up this could be just the right Trike for you. 2010 HMDE Trike "Scratch & Dent", HOME MADE VOLKSWAGEN TRIKE CARBURETED 4 CYLINDER AIR COOLED ENGINE 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION You are looking at a 2010 HMDE trike, HDME stands for Home made. It was built and titled in Tennessee and has a Tennessee assigned VIN number. It was currently titled in Texas on 10/11/2013. The 2010 year model does not mean its only four years old, when a homemade vehicle is titled most states title it as the same year model. It s a good thing the motor was a German built VW that has a bullet proof reputation, because the rest of the trike is very poor. The paint is literally a rattle can spray job and they did not want to spend the money on masking tape, it has overspray all over it which does complement the runs in the paint. The wiring under the handlebars looks like a rats nest, but amazingly the blinkers work and the headlight and running lights work. The horn does not work, at least not with the horn button. The front and rear seat set the true standards for homemade , they look like a pillow that is wrapped in black vinyl. The seat is actually comfortable. It was built for a shorter person; the controls are cramped if you have long legs. The VW motor starts easily and it shifts through the gears, it has a volt meter on the dash and an oil pressure gauge mounted on the motor, show 40 psi on the gauge. The hardware all over this trike is rusty and corroded; the springer front end has good chrome as does the front wheel. The front tire is a new Harley-Davidson branded Dunlop, the rear tires are automotive style and in good shape. The chrome on the rear wheels is peeling. I have no idea how many miles it has or from what year the VW motor came from. The oil is clean and looks good. We are selling this trike as Is with any and all faults. We are not going to wash it or change oil. What you see it what you get. If you want a perfect trike please don t waist your time looking at this one. If you are in the mood to fix up a trike that runs good but looks bad this might be the right trike for you. If you live on the same street as Herman Munster you will make him jealous when he sees this one. Look at the many pictures, watch the video and then you decide if its right for you. It was built and titled in Tennessee and has a Tennessee assigned VIN number. It was currently titled in Texas on 10/11/2013. The 2010 year model does not mean its only four years old, when a homemade vehicle is titled most states title it as the same year model. Its a good thing the motor was a German built VW that has a bullet proof reputation, because the rest of the trike is very poor. The paint is literally a rattle can spray job and they did not want to spend the money on masking tape, it has overspray all over it which does complement the runs in the paint. The wiring under the handlebars looks like a rats nest, but amazingly the blinkers work and the headlight and running lights work. The horn does not work, at least not with the horn button. The front and rear seat set the true standards for homemade, they look like a pillow that is wrapped in black vinyl. The seat is actually comfortable. It was built for a shorter person; the controls are cramped if you have long legs. The VW motor starts easily and it shifts through the gears, it has a volt meter on the dash and an oil pressure gauge mounted on the motor, show 40 psi on the gauge. The hardware all over this trike is rusty and corroded; the springer front end has good chrome as does the front wheel. The front tire is a new Harley-Davidson branded Dunlop, the rear tires are automotive style and in good shape. The chrome on the rear wheels is peeling. I have no idea how many miles it has or from what year the VW motor came from. The oil is clean and looks good. We are selling this trike as Is with any and all faults. We are not going to wash it or change oil. What you see it what you get. If you want a perfect trike please dont waist your time looking at this one. If you are in the mood to fix up a trike that runs good but looks bad this might be the right trike for you.If you live on the same street as Herman Munster you will make him jealous when he sees this one.
