The basic architecture of the Americas 790 cc, twin-cylinder engine is as the Bonnie but a 270 degree firing interval rather than 360 degrees gives a loping exhaust note and mellow power delivery thats big on easy-going drive and heavy with character. Spinning a fat, 170/80-section rear tire (crowning a well-spoked 15-inch rim) through a five-speed gearbox the engine fires its heartbeat out through a pair of deep-chrome slash-cut mufflers. Heavy duty, wide-set telescopic forks add substance and a solid look to the Americas raked front end, as does the 18-inch front wheel, shod with its 110/80 tire. Disc brakes matched to twin-piston calipers take care of the stopping duties. The Americas a great place to embark upon a motorcycling career, but as a true cruising motorcycle its also built to cover ground. Its relaxed riding position, with forward set highway pegs, wide raked-back handlebars and low 28-inch seat height aids rider comfort and control, also makes the America extremely manageable in all situations especially for riders with limited experience. Even those with many miles under their belts, however will be impressed with the chassis surefooted ability and confidence-inspiring handling. The Americas also been made to be admired and from its slab-style top clamp to chromed shock absorbers its the very essence of cruiser chic but with something a little different; a sense of style and heritage very much its own. He rented a three hundred square-foot office in the old Merriam, Kansas Gas building, which he shared with two other businesses. Josh, with the little money saved from buying and selling cars out of the paper, purchased vehicles out of the Autotrader magazine and the Kansas City Star. He then reconditioned them on his own and made sure the few cars he had in inventory were in prime shape. Trying to invent different marketing methods, Josh wanted a bigger presence in Kansas City with his 9-12 car inventory. He began having friends shoot photos of him waiving in front of his vehicles. Being that Autotrader magazine was the prime place to sell cars, with Josh waving in the photos, he was sure to stand out. In 1986 John Zaslavsky, a local small business owner who ran a shoe repair shop two blocks down the road came shopping for a car not knowing what he would find. Josh and John’s friendship began that day. Realizing each others' passion for cars, John began assisting Josh with buying and selling cars. Eventually with the growth of their business, the two formalized their partnership and John sold his formal shoe repair business. Very quickly, John and Josh learned that the tool necessary for becoming successful in the car business was a steady and reliable source for purchasing vehicles. The days of combing the classifieds had to go in order to grow. With the introduction of cell phones in the mid 80s, John had the idea of purchasing ten cell phones and passing them out to local new car managers at new car dealerships. He told them, “When you're trading for a car, page me, and I’ll bid it for you, then come buy it.” This new method appealed to the new car stores because previously, the only choice was to take their trades to the auction and risk loosing money on a weekly basis. Johns phone began ringing so much that less than a month later, he purchased a second phone to carry on him at all times. Now with an ever-growing and steady source for purchasing vehicles, Josh and John's business steadily grew from a 9-12 car inventory to over two hundred, forcing them to expand. In the mid 90’s, John’s brother and son began working as sales people, bringing new energy and ideas accelerating the companies growth. Today the two run the day to day operation of the company with John continuing to buy cars as he did in the 80’s but on a larger scale, and Josh continuing to inspect and work with vehicles to insure a quality product. Holly Motorsports in Mt. Holly New Jersey. It is a gorgeous bike that stands out from the crowd with its long straight pipes and vertical twin powerplant. It is fast, quiet, and unmatched in its ability to track around curves. I friggin' love this bike.I originally was looking at the Suzuki C50T. I am a commuter so the weight of the bike is important to me. It is 100 lbs lighter than the suzuki and has a bunch more horsepower. It is the only bike in this class with disc brakes front and rear. It WILL NOT drag any part of it around curves because it has the highest ground clearance in its class. Its stock seat is comfortable and a non-issue. Heads turn as I ride.
