Matching numbers 1978 Triumph TR7RV First introduced in 1937 as a '500', the Triumph twin underwent one of the longest development processes in motorcycling history before emerging as a '750' some 30-plus years later. This final phase of Triumph twin development began late in 1972 with the first appearance of the new enlarged-to-750cc version of the Bonneville and TR6, the increase in bore size necessitating a new crankcase to accommodate the larger barrel. Other improvements included a new ten-stud cylinder head, triplex primary chain, stronger transmission and a disc front brake. A five-speed gearbox, introduced on the preceding 650 Bonneville, was standard equipment on the 750. Despite the age of the basic design and strong competition from Japanese and European manufacturers, the Bonnie and its single carb sister the TR7, remained for many years the UK's top-selling 750 and was voted Motor Cycle News 'Machine of the Year' in 1979. The bike offered here was built in November, 1977, and remains a matching numbers 1978 model, offered as a great riding bike in very good all ‘round condition. But then look closer at the nuts and bolts and see the lack of wear and it becomes apparent how original the bike is. A few mods over the years are apparent – the exhaust for instance, but the basic bike remains untouched. Paint is very good with a couple of very minor scratches on the tank. The inside of the tank looks almost new. Original fenders, wheels and other cycle parts are all excellent. From the general condition, I would surmise that the bike has been in long-term good storage and that the indicated 12,000 miles is genuine. The bike runs well with good power, and shift through the gears well with a good clutch. Brakes and suspension work as they should, as do all electrical components. The bike is freshly serviced.

Own a classic! New/rebuilt engine with new wheels, aluminum calipers, electronic ignition and much MUCH, over $12,000 invested. Odometer shows 31 miles, but like everything else on the bike it's been renewed/replaced/upgraded, actual mileage unknown. Triumph's T140 Bonneville is the obvious choice for a first British classic bike. Here's why... First off, they don't cost a fortune, so you can try an old Brit bike to see if you enjoy the experience without mortgaging the cat. Second, there are heaps of 750 Triumphs on the market at any time, so you have plenty to pick and choose between. Production of the 750s started in 1973 with the twin-carb T140V Bonneville and the single-carb TR7V Tiger, direct descendants from the Speed Twin all those decades earlier. The first few 750s were actually 724cc but the vast majority are 744cc (76mm by 82mm) from 1974-onwards. The 750 Triumphs do everything fairly well although they tend not to excel at one thing in particular - apart, perhaps, from steering rather more sharply than some lumbering four-cylinder contemporaries from overseas. Financing (see our online credit application), credit cards, trade ins and consignments welcome. Or have a bike to sell? We pay top $$$$. This bike is SUPER RAW! Stripped down, elegant and simple. The 650cc twin has just 1 Amal Concentric Carb and is a mechanical dream to maintain as it is simple and bare bones as they come. 1968 was an AWESOME year for this engine. Major upgrades were made throughout. I encourage you to check out this website to read more about the the TR6R (formally known as the Triumph Trophy and later dubbed the Tiger) :// /1968-triumph-tr6.htmlThis bike is titled by the frame which is actually a T120. It has been PERFECTLY hard tailed and the 1967 TR6R 650cc engine sits gorgeously within the modified frame. This bike truly looks as though it rolled right out of the factory made to look like this. There are no inconsistencies and seamless flowing lines, making it appear to look like a "natural" bobber. Raw gun metal frame and tank can be left or painted (we are a fan of leaving it). While this bike is undeniably beautiful and runs flawlessly, it is still not recommended for the faint of heart or someone brand hammer new to the world of motorcycles. It is kickstart only, the foot controls are reversed (as is with all pre-1975 British Motorcycles and Harley's), and this bike is rear brake only and will require and experienced rider who is comfortable and familiar with engine braking. Regular maintenance cannot be put off or ignored on bikes of this age.The Frame Number T120 DU75836 (1968)The Engine Number: TR6R DU64351 (1967)Stop by GarageTRS Tues-Sat 11am-7pm to check this bike out along with many other others. 1978 Triumph Tiger , 1978 Triumph Tiger Indulge yourself in a piece of British motorcycle history. For Sale is a very nice 1978 Triumph Tiger (TR7V, 750cc, 5 speed). Matching engine and frame numbers. Odometer indicates less than 13800 miles which appears consistent with condition. Bike is stock except for electronic ignition and Dunstall mufflers. I have owned the bike for the past 15 years during which time it has been a fair weather rider and has been garaged. Tank and side panel paint is excellent but not original, frame paint is good and appears original, seat is perfect, and chrome, aluminum and rubber are good. Previous maintenance includes new tires, front brake master cylinder and hose, front caliper rebuild, clutch and primary chain tensioner replacement. Clear title. Owners, parts, and workshop manuals included. Cranks and runs great. Very nice for a 38 year old bike!! $4000 , negotiable, cash or cashier's check --- Lake Conroe area, Texas, Phone: 936 448 4906 or 936 443 4712 $4,000.00 9364484906
