An Original mileage title showing only 50xxx miles   Rare Drop-Head Coupe 1991cc 6 Cylinder engine 4-speed Wilson Preselector gearbox 2 door, four seat Convertible Light Restoration 60 years of History The Armstrong Siddeley Hurricane was a two door, four seat  drophead coupe which was named after the famous RAF Hurricane fighter plane made by the British company of Armstrong Siddeley. This automobile was made from 1946 to 1953 and based on the 1945 Armstrong Siddeley Lancaster. The chassis featured independent front suspension using torsion bars and a live rear axle with leaf springs. A Girling hydro-mechanical braking system was fitted, with the front drums hydraulically operated while those at the rear used rod and cable. The four seat, two door body was made of steel and aluminum panel fitted over a wood and aluminum frame. The doors were rear hinged, an arrangement that got the name of suicide doors. This is a truly post war British classic, purchased directly at the Armstrong factory by the first owner, an attorney from the Northeaster United States.  In fact, one of the four owners (1952-2015) was a member of the Armstrong Siddeley Owner’s club (ASOC) showing just one example of their love and dedication to this marque! Included with this car is a sixty plus year journey of service records, parts receipts, work shop manuals, restoration information, featured articles, ownership history, and even Armstrong Car Owners club literature! The finish of this beautiful car was inspired by Armstrong Sapphires competing at the ASOC rally at the Isle of Wight. The cool mint green and light turquoise trim and matching wire wheels (both custom features ordered by the first owner). This is probably the only post war Hurricane with wire wheels! The paint shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Both the front and rear (adjustable) bumpers fit nicely and compliment the body. The interior continues the elegant theme of the exterior with leather navy blue front split bench seats and rear bench seat and all look good with no major signs of wear visible. The door panels and dashboard are designed to carry the feel of an estate automobile with the use of actual wood!. I always wanted the grabber blue with white stripes. During that time I have had over 12 Corvettes and during the last 3 years I have been collecting High end classic cars. After working on a friends Corvette I got the bug to get another Corvette. I went to the internet site of D&M Motorsports . Their site has all High Def photos that are taken by a professional photographer and I found a pristine 1993 40th Anniversary Corvette with only 1,300 documented miles. I went up to D&M and Dave handled the sale. We settled on a price and I purchased the car that day. I started looking for a Corvette in October of 2013 all over the Midwest and D & M Motorsports was just one of the dealers I pestered for 4 months, in those months I met with Angie and Dave checking out the cars I previously viewed and all their new arrivals. At no time was I pressured to purchase and every meeting was cordial and all my questions were answered no matter how long it took. In February 2014 they got in the car I wanted and I made an offer they agreed too and with the contingency I could have the car checked out. Not only did they agree to my terms they even stored the car for a month till the weather broke and at no charge. Their site has all High Def photos that are taken by a professional photographer and I found a pristine 1993 40th Anniversary Corvette with only 1,300 documented miles. Their site has all High Def photos that are taken by a professional photographer and I found a pristine 1993 40th Anniversary Corvette with only 1,300 documented miles. This car is being sold as is, and while the exterior and interior shows wear for a 65-year old vehicle, it runs great and is mechanically sound with a patina that looks like fine art. The history behind this vehicle is well-documented and extremely fascinating with decades of correspondence between other Riley owners, Riley Motor Club of the United Kingdom and Riley Motor Company.The Riley RM series was considered to be the best British car company behind Jaguar in the late ‘40s. This Riley is part of the last year these cars were manufactured in Coventry, England.The RMA was the first post-war Riley. It used the 1.5 L engine and was equipped with hydro-mechanical brakes and an independent suspension using torsion bars in front. The frame was made of wood in the English tradition, and the car featured traditional styling. The car was capable of reaching 75 mph. The RMA was produced from 1945 until 1952 when it was replaced by the RME.The ’48 RMA you pictured is original but shows a marvelous patina in both the interior and on the exterior. The body still holds up though even after 65 years, though we will note that the wipers need help and the horn and brake signals are inoperable. The original British Racing Green paint and black vinyl exterior show wear but still retain their rich color. The dash is in decent condition; the original leather is pretty far gone. We would refresh the interior, and with some TLC, this Riley can once again reclaim its glory, but to restate, this car you see before you is not perfect and is being sold as-is. Currently this car runs very well and the three-speed manual transmission shifts nice and smooth.From the documentation included with the car, this car was imported from British Automobile Centre Ltd. to British Columbia in the early ‘50s. The original invoice to Port Angeles, Wash., to a Robert Bangs of Oregon on Aug. 19, 1954 is also included. From the items found, it appears Mr. Bangs owned this car from ’54 to about ’85 and was very obsessive with keeping all records, club documentation and correspondence of his entire ownership experience. The buyer has seven(7) days from close of auction to inspect the vehicle. If the vehicle is not to your liking within this seven day inspection period then your deposit will be refunded 100%. If an inspection or decision takes longer then seven days and you find the vehicle not to your liking, your deposit will be forfeited and the car will be relisted. Final payment must be received within ten (10) days of the auction close. The refundable deposit only applies if you or an agent inspect said vehicle in St. Louis and find it not to your liking. I will not be responsible for buyers remorse or problems found to said vehicle once they have left my property.
