It’s all about supply and demand not about a good or bad economy. The classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people want but there aren’t many on the market for sale. The classic cars that are on the decline are the cars that a lot of people don’t want anymore and there’s many on the market for sale. Of course, if the car is a rare model and spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. Desirable factory correct classic cars that are documented with matching numbers always make solid investments. Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character and there worth what people are willing to pay. Prior to this business I was just a blue collar guy who was working full time selling new and used Mercedes Benz. I was very passionate about classic cars and trucks so I decided to sell them part time. Although I had my used car dealer’s license I didn’t have my own dealership. The chopper’s shiny metal frame features a gas tank shaped in the logo of the New England Patriots, and the seal of the Boston Fire Department with the names of Lieutenant Edward J. Walsh Jr., 43, and firefighter Michael R. Kennedy, 33, above the words “Last Alarm 3/26/2014.” “I’m speechless, actually,” Kennedy said Sunday. “It’s a gorgeous, gorgeous thing. The whole bike is a work of art.” Motorcycle enthusiasts gathered alongside firefighters and city officials Sunday at Florian Hall in Dorchester for the unveiling of an Orange County Choppers-designed motorbike that honors the firefighters killed in the March 26 fire. The New England Patriots will hold a raffle for the bike and give it away at their final home game this year on Dec. 28. The $10 raffle tickets will go on sale Tuesday at nefc2014.com. Proceeds will benefit the Metropolitan SWAT Officers Association and charities in the names of the fallen firefighters. Custom Construction Bobber up for sale. Just completed, runs and rides excellent!! I built this bike over the last two years, its a labor of love and I hate to see it go, but its time for the next project. I have rode it a few times just to keep the fluids moving and the battery charged. It isn't perfect or a show winner by any means, but definitely a great bike for someone who wants to ride and isn't looking to spend a ton of money. The frame is a Straight Up Choppers frame bought from Demon Cycles, zero up zero out, 30 degree rack, powder coated gloss black. The front end is a DNA Gloss Black 2 under stock length. Front wheel and tire is a 21x2.15 60 spoke chrome, 90/90 21. Rear Wheel and Tire is a 18x8.5 60 spoke chrome, 250. Motor is a 1997 Sportster 1200 with a five speed transmission painted black. Motor runs very strong, new clutch pack, new plugs, and all new gaskets, totally freshened up. New stock ignition, coil, and regulator. Custom fender fabricated by me with struts and mounts. Bung King 3.5 quart Round Oil Tank filled with synthetic fluids. Bung King Battery Box filled with stock equivalent Sportster Battery. Assorted Bung King Mounts used throughout the build. High Torque Starter brand new. S&S Super E Carb brand new and properly jetted. 3.1 gallon king peanut tank with custom filler neck and petcock located to get the most fuel out of the tank. Autometer speedometer properly calibrated and currently reading 22 miles. Wires Plus custom wiring harness, with brains and key switch/starter located at the top motor mount. Two buttons on the motor mount are starter and headlight dimmer. Handle bars are 12 inch apes with exile internal throttle. All tig welded. Everything is powder coated gloss black except the fender and tank, which are dark blue. I am sure there are some small things I am missing, but if you have a question please ask and I will be more than happy to provide feedback. I have receipts for all the parts. The bike will come with an MSO for the frame and a Bill of Sale for the motor. There is no warranty for the bike. I have hundreds of hours of labor in this custom bike, and again I hate to get rid of it, but its time for another project. I am willing to deliver the bike via trailer up to 150 miles or so for the cost of fuel. But if you are the buyer something else may be worked out or negotiated. It doesn't hurt to ask. Removable windshield and fork bag and saddle bags on rear trunk. Luggage rack on rear trunk. This Trike has been all over the US, Mexico and Canada on trips. Great Trike, Runs Great. This is being sold only because another project has been started and I don't have the time to complete it.This is a One of a Kind meaning that you will NEVER see another like it. The frame is an All Tubular Frame Professtionally Welded on a Car Rotisserie. The Body is All Hand Formed Sheet Metal and has been skim coated, rough sanded, primed and sealed. This trike features 18" Chrome Wheels with the back being a Custom Built Rim built to hold the Mickey Thompson 22" Wide Street Drag Radial. It is chain driven and geared with a 54T Rear Sprocket and 14T Front. The motor is a 2004 GSXR 1000 fitted with a T3/T4 Turbo fully plumbed with 2" Aluminum Tubing with Intercooler and Blowoff Valve. It has a custom built plenum. This is a Right Side Drive only to make it more unique. Shifting is a simply 1 Back and 5 Up. This does not have a Reverse Mechanism but one was in the plans to be done and can be simply achieved using a Starter Motor from a Car. This Trike does feature a Full Audio/Video System featuring 2 - 15" Monitors placed behind the Driver and Passenger Seats made into the Body. It has a 7" DVD/CD/MP3/Radio/Bluetooth/SD In Dash Deck frenched into the All Sheet Metal Dash surrounded by 3 Gauges in the center console, 2 Bucket Seats, MA Audio 10" Sub, 2 Sets of Components Speakers Mounted into the Front Fenders of the Body. It pains me to write this. This bike is my baby and has given me 20K miles of unbelievable experiences. I am the second owner and the bike now has 43,000 miles. Just recently, I put 120 miles on it through rural Vermont including the Champlain Islands. Unfortunately, I have developed a medical condition which is forcing me to sell it. I have a nerve issue in my thigh that is exacerbated by riding. This was confirmed again on my ride today so I need to stop. My loss is your gain. This particular bike is ready for a long haul trip to Yukon or as a reliable daily commuter. About the modelThe Caponord is a versatile adventure touring bike that is equally competent cruising highways at high speed, carving turns on mountain passes, and riding dirt logging trails. Similar to a BMW GS, the Caponord is more nimble because it is only 1000cc vs 1200cc. The bike has a bombproof Rotax v-twin engine that is rock solid making 98 horsepower with 71.5 ft/lbs of torque into a 6-speed transmission and a chain drive. It has switchable ABS. It is plenty fast and super fun to ride. It has a substantial fairing and handguards so it can be comfortable to ride in cold and rain. About this particular bikeI am the second owner and purchased the bike with 20K on it. It has been serviced regularly by authorized Aprilia dealers and performs as expected. It has never been crashed or laid down. I have had zero mechanical issues with it. It has the stock exhaust and is the desirable black color. I trust this bike to never let me down and have ridden it to the top of Mount Washington NH, Whiteface NY, Bailey Island, and Moosehead Lake, Maine. I took it to Finland when I lived there and did a 1800 mile trip to the top of Norway to Nordkapp, the origin of the Caponord name. Three weekends ago, I took my 76 year old Aunt on a ride to Rangeley, Maine. Needless to say, I have great confidence in the machine and trust it completely. ConditionI have taken great care of this bike and had it serviced regularly through Aprilia Authorized dealers. The 40K mile service was done on 1/22/2015. Tires are class leading Michelin Pilot Road 3 Trail tires, a 90/10 tire that is ultra grippy on tarmac and very good in the wet. They are in good shape and certainly will last through this season. Rear tire was replaced 7/2014 at 37,800mi. Brakes are great. Front and rear rotors and pads were replaced with OE original Brembos 3/2012 at 26,500mi. Pads have been changed since. Chain and cogs are in good shape and were replaced 7/2012 at 29,800 miles. Chain tension and lube are regularly checked. I just had the Vermont state inspection done on 8/26 and it is ready for another year of riding. Cosmetics: this bike is in great shape but it has been ridden and shows signs of use: There are a few minor scratches on the tank, some on the foot brake reservoir, some paint chipping on the clutch reservoir (as expected), some rust on spoke tips, a scratch on the left pannier (see photo), wear on left hand grip, wear on footpeg extensions, and minor wear on each pannier from aggressive cornering. Be sure to check the photos. UpgradesI have worked hard to make this bike my own and it comes with some great upgrades: $500 E52 Givi Box and attachment rack$500 Custom Saddlemen Adventure Track Seat$350 LED driving lights$200 Givi windshield and laminar lip (I also have the stock windshield)$550 Hepco and Becker frame guards$150 Heated grips with hazard light switch (the hazard switch does not work)$100 hard wired for a Garmin Zumo$75 K+N air filter$150 Marsee expandable tank bag All told, there are close to $2750 in upgrades here. Additionally, it also comes with 2 complete sets of keys, a battery tender plug in, deer whistles, red light changer magnet, blind spot mirrors, SOLAS reflective tape to make the bike super visible, and Aprilia valve caps. It also comes with a spare kickstand switch and headlight light bulb (two things to never be without). ServicingThe authorized Aprilia dealer Seacoast in NH will pick the bike up for servicing for only a fee of $20 each way. I used the service twice for my routine maintenance. They came to my house and loaded the bike in a Sprinter van, serviced the bike at the dealership in NH, and then returned it in the Sprinter. This makes owning the Caponord, even without a local dealer, very easy! TransportingI have a trailer and am willing to help with getting the bike to within three hours of Burlington, VT. Also, I live 10 minutes from the Burlington airport (BTV) and am happy to meet you there. Riding in Vermont is wonderful so you could make picking up your bike the start of a Northern New England road tour: Whiteface, NY is 2 hours away. Mount Washington is 2.5 hours. Bar Harbor Maine is 8 hours. Quebec City is 5 hours. Montreal is 2 hours. PricingKBB has this bike at $5015. Mid point of retail for NADA is $5700.
