For sale is my customized 1981 Yamaha XS 650 Special. I originally bought the bike about 5 years ago out of a barn in Granville, Ohio when it was in pretty bad shape. I went to work cutting out all the unnecessary parts and cleaned the lines of the bike up. I got rid of the original gauges, turn signals, seat, seat brackets, lights, license plate bracket, shocks, handlebars, moved the ignition switch, and a few other minor details. I created a custom seat pan and had a custom leather seat sewn to match. The wheels have been powder-coated white and the frame has three coats of a super durable black gloss paint. The tank and side panels are professionally painted gloss black to match.I also rebuilt the motor and replaced almost all parts to make the bike run smoothly. There are new piston rings, all new gaskets, new guide chain, solenoids and plug wires, plugs, clutch cable, customized wrapped exhaust, new rear shocks, new air filters, battery, speedometer, new front and rear brakes, new fuse box and fuses, new fuel lines and filter, and probably a few things I'm forgetting right now. The bike runs and looks great. I had to change the bike to a points system because the original electric start panel didn't work and the replacements I tried were terrible. The bike now starts on the first kick and I haven't had any issues since switching to points. The bike sits low and is very comfortable. It really is a fun bike to ride. This bike has been completely "gone over". It starts up right away and runs great. I am the second owner of this. The original owner put it storage without prepping it, hence, the tank and fuel lines needed to be replaced. Don't let the fact that it has 27k on it. It runs great and will for years to come. One of the downsides is that with the non vacuum petcocks, they must be turned to off each time it's shut down. Neutral can be a little hard to find sometimes but the gearbox works well. I am selling it locally so I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. I have had some interest in it already. I have the title and documentation. Good luck!

The electrical system is completely redone, using the TC Bros. wiring harness in back and our wiring up front. All the electrical components are stored in the fake oil tank. We threw on turn signals (front and back) and an electric start so she could be used as an everyday rider. The original speedometer reads 19,336, and the new one reads 31. The brand new carbs were jetted to work with our short pipes made in house. New gas tank, coil, plugs and wires. New Dunlop 404 tires front and back. New inspection. Title is clear, she's just looking for a new home. If you don't want to lose your bike in a parking lot because it looks the same as everyone else's, this one's for you.

Buyer backed out of purchase so will try this again. This bike starts quickly and will idle but engine has blue smoke emitting from both exhaust when revved up and the starter clutch sometimes slips. The engine doesn't make any abnormal noise. There is no tail/stop light or turn signals. It has been repainted and has many blemishes/scratches and the chrome has scratches and minor rust as seen in pics. Tires have very good tread. Speedo and tach faces are not attached and shock hardware is missing. Inside of tank is clean with no rust. This bike needs work and is a project. It comes with a clean, clear Va. title and key.
