1978 Yamaha DT400, restored 1978 DT400 was yellow now custom color with new plastics and tank, all painted with professional paint basecoat /clear coat....EVERYTHING WORKS.... Motor & carburetor rebuilt (new main bearings w/ YAMAHA piston and rings and all seals), cables, brakes, all plastics, rubber seals, gaskets, fuel petcock, chain, sprockets, brakes, new Barnett clutch plates/ pressure plates w/ springs...fuel tank is new OEM re-painted and sealed with Kreem...Yamaha. VIN and motor VIN match. 8675 total miles since production date in May 1977... Driven 1340 since re-build... Bike restored as a hobby---not for profit. CLEAR TEXAS 1977 TITLE...BASED ON STATE INSPECTION FROM YAMAHA DEALER. Odometer reflects miles driven since restoration...piston is bored to 3rd over with OEM Yamaha Piston and rings, took 4+ years to get in back to this condition. Parts not OEM Yamaha are seat, decals, left control, front fender and paint color. Seat cover/seat and decals are a reproduction, paint was the color I thought looked the best. Left control upgraded to an aluminum reproduction which is stronger and more durable than the plastic stock unit. Bike was restored to ride and enjoy, so you will see some minor dirt under the fenders and skid plate/frame. Frame was not restored, just touched up a few spots. Back fender is NOT a new part; it's been stripped down and painted, TAILLIGHT assembly is NEW OEM. All plastic parts have professional plastic adhesion promoter before painting base-coat/clear-coat. Bike was manufactured in May of 1977, title is 1977 as the May 1977 VIN date on the bike, however this bike is considered a 1978 model..NEW unmounted brick pattern back tire included. Speedometer and TACH were purchased NEW OEM, new battery installed on March 26 2016. Buyer is responsible to determine what paperwork is required to transfer title to your state. Bike does not come with warranty or returns, I'd recommend a review of the bike in person before final payment. I will work with you on a date to do just that near selling location in TEXAS. Up for sale today is the last of my collection of Yamaha Dt Enduro's and the prize of my vintage collection, (as far as I am concerned). I bought it, along with several others years ago before they were sold off by another collector and heading for Yamaha Museum in California. This is as close to new condition you will ever see again, with no surprises. Runs perfect. I ride it a few miles a month around my neighborhood and makes people stop in their tracks. I have put almost all the miles on it myself, very carefully and they are not a factor in its condition, it is like new. All original, not restored, they are not as good. Kept in climate controlled environment, all rubber, seat etc. like new. Check my feedback for other bikes I sold throughout the years, people are surprised when the get them. I had 27 at one time and this is the last and was my favorite because I was a poor kid and used to dream about having this bike but we could never afford one. Now its just been mainly for admiring and was very hard to decide to sell it. You will never see another like this. Clear title. Matching #s on frame and motor. New oem tires. No negotiations, its worth more than I'm asking and only appreciates in value. I just took these pics for this auction with my iphone, but I have hundreds of pictures, of all my bikes and included a few of some of my others I had, all sold now except this one. I am selling everything because I am going to travel the last years of my life. I have truly enjoyed collecting bikes, but time to move on. Can't think of anything else right now. Classic 81 Yamaha DT175 Enduro This is a Street legal 2 stroke Dual purpose bike The bike is in Excellent condition and runs great When I purchased this bike in 2011 it had not run since 1991. I completely dissembled the engine and reassembled it to make sure everything was good. I am a professional motorcycle builder so I decided to modify the engine to look completely stock but run like a hotrod. The bike stock is about 15HP this one is more like 20HP. Rev's out higher and quicker and pulls strong throughout the entire RPM range. Engine modifications; -Professionally ported cylinder -Reworked milled head -Oversize reed block ( Yamaha Banshee ) -26mm Mikuni Carburetor ( looks like stock 2mm larger ) -Modified exhaust system ( For more RPM's ) -Modified silencer ( more free flowing ) -First oversize Yamaha piston Please ask all Questions before bidding. A little History on Harry Hindall: Harry HindallHarry Hindall was a motorcycle frame builder, aerospace engineer, and a desert racer From England who learned his welding skills working from some of the best; Don and Derrick Rickman. A new job brought him to SoCal. where he worked for Northrop in L.A. area, and until the layoffs of the 70’s would work as an engineer. While in SoCal he became a desert racer in District 37 AMA. Others noticed his specially built Triumph Twin in his home built frame, and they asked to ride it.After that he had friends wanting frames built for their bikes as well. When he was layed off for a few years, he ramped up his production of hand built one-of-a-kinds’s to make frames for D & RT1’s, Suzuki’s 250/400, Kawasaki 350 Bighorns, BSA and Triumph Twins and Singles. His final design was a TT500 Yamaha. Most 2-stroke bikes were about 30 lbs lighter when done, and the Twins sometimes up to 60 lbs lighter! He also made his own plastic Rickman style tanks (in Red) and seat combos.You would custom order your frame telling him what forks and wheels you were going to use. He also sold lightweight hollow axles and swing arm bolts, as well as Adel clamps that were used to mount most anything to his frames without welding. Frames sold finished were all nickel plated, unfinished w/o motor mounts, and would come bare metal. Less than 75 total frames were built, and no real records were kept. But if you look at the bikes VIN’s they are very different. Both of these bikes end in #72. Made in 1972 maybe? Both bikes had the then new state of the art conical 1972 Yamaha front wheels on them. Maybe a clue… I believe the VIN is nothing more than a manufactures date, and nothing more. I have seen two bikes with big horn motors and the #71 as the last numbers also. This is an original Harry Hindall DT1 250 still the original nikel plating in the frame in excellent condition! this bike runs great! has the Akront shouldered rims, DT1 tank, Hindall seat, Motocross style bars (solid) Really nice rare bike! if you google Hary Hindall you will see several of his bikes that sold, another DT1 250 sold for $15000.00 you can have this one for less. Can crate and ship in the continental US , and can crate for overseas Shipping also .I will not ship overseas though. there is no title on this off road bike

This bike has a clear, clean WA State Title & Plates last tab 2016. Was used for short trips, with two 100 mile road trips and performed excellent. About 95 MPG. in very nice shape, and runs great. I was disabled in 2015, and afraid to ride it on the road because of it's vintage status and chance getting it stolen. This bike came with the rare vintage teardrop gas tank (less than a gallon) which give it the "look". The gas tanks is clean and not rusted. Some very minor paint blemishes, and one minor seat tear, not patched (yet). New OEM tires and tubes installed 2012. Original Yamaha tool kit in bag under seat. This bike never had any major engine or transmission repairs. Some minor clean up, new hoses, battery, and OEM replacement carburetor with fuel shutoff (original carb is supplied with bike) The original rear turn signals are supplied with sale, and it is shown with rubberized turn signals to prevent damage. All electrical and mechanical items function normally (even the horn). The bike has been kept in good maintenance by myself using the best oils. and non-ethanol gas when available. It is easy to start and generally starts first kick. It runs excellent and shifts through all the gears smoothly. Brakes have been kept adjusted. Great throttle response and a healthy sounding motor with only a little under 4000 original miles. This bike is ready to get on , ride, and enjoy.
