Bought both of this bikes with many extra parts from the previous owner who was going to restore it but lost interest. Had both bike running briefly in the shop, but never put fuel in the tanks or rode it. Transmission static shift through the gears. Has strong spark and great compression. Frame appears straight as well as the wheels. The 1984 is the one with the yellow fork gators and has a clear title. All new plastics. Tank was repainted by the previous owner. New decals. To be perfectly clear, there is no title and it is not street legal. I will provide a printed and signed bill of sale with the VIN number on it.This bike was completely stripped down to the frame and everything was rebuilt/restored. No expense was spared. Complete top & bottom end rebuild, crank was balanced, cylinder bored to the 1st oversize, Wiseco piston & rings installed. The cylinder head was treated to the "Eric Gorr mod" (the squish band angle was corrected, the head was decked, and a manual decompression valve was machined in to the head for easy starting. It also has a DG pipe and silencer, Boyesen reeds, IMS shifter, new clutch, etc etc. The bike has more than enough power for even the most experienced rider. Tons of compression and runs best on VP110 racing fuel and Bel-Ray H1-R synthetic premix at 40:1. The shock and forks were also rebuilt and set up for a 200-220 lb rider. The bike is so smooth through even the roughest terrain. Pro Taper bars, Acerbis hand guards, Scott grips, RK chain and JT sprockets, new grooved brake shoes front and rear, new decals added. The lights and odometer work, the tool bag has the full compliment of OEM tools. The bike has 8 hours of total run time on it. About 1 hour of break in time and approximately 7 hours of ride time. This is a very rare bike and it's ready to ride. Needs absolutely nothing. $2400 is the asking price. I have a 1983 yamaha yz 490 for sale Motor was sent out to have the head ported by the best in the business Forward Motion, a Millennium Technologies LLC Company 1404 Pilgrim Road, Plymouth, WI 53073 making it run better on pump gas. Cylinder was bored over .020 and this was the first bore from original. Wiseco piston and rings. Cylinder and head were sandblasted and powder coated as well as exhaust. It starts hard and needs someone that knows these bikes. I jetted it and put larger pilot jets in it. It has a brand new clutch just rebuilt, new throttle cable. Front forks are good and I have new rubber fork boots for it, manual and fork seals. Rear shock should be rebuilt. It also needs chain rollers. This is a beast of a bike and they are getting harder to find. Frame has never been welded and the plastics are in great shape they are aftermarket Maier and Clarke tank .It has under a hour on the rebuild. I am selling it because It is hard to start and I cant figure it out. Coil was replaced new and when it starts on starting fluid it runs and idles great. Shifts through all 4 gears. I have detailed everything I know about the bike, It is a great candidate for a restoration I believe or if you are good with these bikes, I think it has a great start. Some new parts will be included. Ask any question you want. I will ship it if you arrange it and pay for it as long as the bike is paid for first. Vintage 1987 Yamaha Yz 490u two stroke. The bike is in great condition despite a cracked rear fender and fading decals. Both the front and rear tires have been replaced recently. The bike has low hours (under 50). Included with the bike is the original title, bill of sale, owners manual, racing manual, Yamalube two stroke racing oil, fork tuner, NGK spark plugs, tool kit, engine lubricant, suspension oil, and other miscellaneous parts ie chain links ect. The bike has been used for dune riding, it has never been raced, although it has all the power you could need.

Thanks for checking out my wonderful 1984 Yamaha IT490. I love this bike but I am not going to use it the way it needs to be ridden. So far I have ridden it up and down my alley and out in a nearby field. With some creativity one could probably get this registered for the street. It is not street legal and on the New Mexico title it is stamped Off Highway. Please don't make an offer unless you plan to follow through. This bike runs very well. I have had it on the trails and on the road behind my place. It is EXTREMELY powerful and fast. I am the second owner of this bike and I have the papers from the dealer when it was sold. It was not used very much. Cosmetically this bike is a 30 year old time capsule. The plastic is in great shape as are the wheels. I believe the gas tank has been replaced at some point I have shown a close up of the cylinder head that has a small amount of oil on it. I don't believe it has ever been apart and may need a gasket. The odometer is resetable so there is no accurate measure of the mileage. The tires are original and show medium wear. The brakes work well. The lights are not working but i have not investigated. I believe when the bike is running they are on. No switch. The previous owner told me the flywheel has been lightened (photo showing side cover with thicker gasket). It is a great bike, starts easily and goes fast. I generally choke it to start. This bike is not for beginners. I have a clear NM title in my name.
