It comes with added skeleton hand mirrors, sissy bar and Yamaha highway pegs. This would be a great project bike to have ready by spring because it needs some work. The seat is coming apart at the seams and there is a scratch on the tank that appears was attempted to be covered but is still visible, pictures added of both. There is corrosion on the master cylinder/right side hand control, as well as the brake lever is peeling. This bike came in on trade not running; the key will not even turn on. **This bike is being listed and sold as is.** Options and Standard Features Basic Information Type: Cruiser Mileage: 34424 Title: Clear Color: Black Condition: Used VIN: JYA5N8008CA010727 Stock Number: 010727 Trim: XJ650 Maxim 650 Model: Other Make: Yamaha Year: 1982 Engine Engine Size (cc): 653 Bore (in): 02.5 Bore (mm): 63 Cooling System: Air Engine Stroke: 4-Stroke Engine Type: In-line Engine Size (ci): 39.85 Fuel Capacity (gal): 5.42 Fuel Type: Gas Horsepower: 71 Horsepower (kW): 51.8 Horsepower RPM: 9400 Starter: Electric Stroke (in): 2.1 Stroke (mm): 52.4 Top Speed (MPH): 122 Valves Per Cylinder: 2 Carburetion Type: Carburetor Drivetrain Number Of Speeds: 5 Transmission: Manual Primary Drive (Engine / Transmission): Shaft drive (cardan) Brakes Front Brake: Dual Disc Safety Front & Back signals Headlight Horn Kill Switch Signals Tail lights Rearview Mirrors Comfort Trip Odometer Specifications Front Tire (Full Spec): 3.25-19 Fuel Capacity (liters): 20 Rear Tire (Full Spec): 120/90-18 Top Speed (km/h): 197 Wet Weight (lbs): 509.3 Wet Weight (kg): 231 Speedometer Other Information Helmet Locks Additional Costs Documentation: $250.00Title: $25.5045 Day Temporary Tag (optional): $18.50 Buyers located in the following states, must also pay a 6.00% sales tax at the time of purchase. 1980 Yamaha Xj650 MAXIM, CollectorShow quality antique 1980 Yamaha XJ650 Maxim 1 - Black - the first year for the Maxim series. I purchased this bike new. Clear title. It has always been garage kept and virtually never ridden in the rain. It is in near mint condition as the photos attest. Everything on the bike is original factory down to the handle bar grips. The photos show the bike with an aftermarket king/queen seat as I use this when I ride with my wife. I have the original factory seat in new condition. I have meticulously maintained the bike doing much of the maintenance myself. It is one of the finest pieces of machinery I have ever owned. Not only is it a collector item this four cylinder shaft drive cruiser is a joy to ride - quick and responsive. She runs like the first day I purchased her. No throttle hesitation while pulling strong through all revs. No leaks and absolutely no oil usage. I synched the carbs one year ago and this was the first time it was needed - a testament to the quality of these carbs. Valve clearance checked a year ago and they were all in spec. Tires are very good with most all their life left. This is a bike that can be used with care as it appreciates. I haven't seen a comparable bike in this model year for sale. The bike comes with the following OEM spare parts which I purchased a long time ago but never needed. You may never need them anyway. These include: 1. Original factory shop manual. Purchased when I bought the bike - a really good manual. 2. Valve cover gasket. 3. Fork seals. The fork seals were replaced about three years ago for the one and only time required. 4. Side reflector with two mounts. Used in very good condition. 5. Carb synchronizing vacuum gage set. 6. Turn signal bracket and lens. Used in new condition. 7. Rear view mirror bracket. Used in like new condition. 8. Four carb rebuild kits. This is the only aftermarket spare part. New. 9. Complete instrument set including housing on mount; speedometer, tach, indicator lights. Used in very good condition. 10. Complete carb set mounted on rail. Used - very clean. 11. Electronic ignition with spark plug wires. Used in very good condition. 12. Starter motor. Used in good shape. 13. Electrical signal relays and power supplies. Used in good shape. 14. Front rotor. Used in good shape. 15. Left and right passenger foot pegs with aluminum frame brackets. Used - pegs like new, brackets in good shape. 16. Left and right driver foot pegs with brackets. Used - pegs poor, brackets very good. 17. Electrical spark igniter. Used in excellent condition. 18. Electrical Power Supply. Used in excellent condition. 19. Positive electrical relay off battery. Used - very good. 20. Bike cover. Serious inquires only. Ride the bike only if you are ready to purchase. You wont be wasting your time. All as claimed. $3,300.00

This is an awesome 1981 Yamaha Maxim XJ650 that has been recently converted to a custom built Cafe Racer. It has a custom built gas tank that has been sealed and pressure tested. Custom built tail section and custom fairing. We went through the motor and transmission to insure everything functioned as it should, synched the carbs, installed new air cleaner cones, removed the old ugly air box, hid all the electronics under the seat pan, and swapped out handlebars to complete the cafe look. After all the modification was complete we had a beautiful candy red with silver racing stripe paint job done with multiple coats of clear to give it that wonderful depth and sparkle. Please look at the pics to see the before and after images. This bike is for sale locally as well and the seller reserves the right to end the auction at any time. This vehicle is an as is sale and no warranty is implied. Please contact us with any questions you may have. -New tires-New paint-New front fender-New gas tank-New seat pan-New handle bars-New air filters-New rear turn signals-New grips-New brakes-Rebuilt front master cylinder-Rebuilt front caliper
