1983 yz 490 One owner bike. New jets and carb rebuilt. Newer sprockets and Tires look good. Everything runs great fun to ride. This bike was serviced regularly. New seat cover and levers. Starts easy. I have the paper work from the dealer I bought it from in Idaho no title.. Great condition for the age. Runs great with lots of power. plastic is there but has some fading and cracks. Starts easy and shifts great through all the gears. No titles on old dirt bikes in utah the bill of sale serves as the title so all I have is a bill of sale to offer. That is why I put salvage title because nothing else fit.

I have a 1983 yamaha yz 490 for sale Motor was sent out to have the head ported by the best in the business Forward Motion, a Millennium Technologies LLC Company 1404 Pilgrim Road, Plymouth, WI 53073 making it run better on pump gas. Cylinder was bored over .020 and this was the first bore from original. Wiseco piston and rings. Cylinder and head were sandblasted and powder coated as well as exhaust. It starts hard and needs someone that knows these bikes. I jetted it and put larger pilot jets in it. It has a brand new clutch just rebuilt, new throttle cable. Front forks are good and I have new rubber fork boots for it, manual and fork seals. Rear shock should be rebuilt. It also needs chain rollers. This is a beast of a bike and they are getting harder to find. Frame has never been welded and the plastics are in great shape they are aftermarket Maier and Clarke tank .It has under a hour on the rebuild. I am selling it because It is hard to start and I cant figure it out. Coil was replaced new and when it starts on starting fluid it runs and idles great. Shifts through all 4 gears. I have detailed everything I know about the bike, It is a great candidate for a restoration I believe or if you are good with these bikes, I think it has a great start. Some new parts will be included. Ask any question you want. I will ship it if you arrange it and pay for it as long as the bike is paid for first. It is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end this listing early if it sells. Not sure of vin number or mileage. It only will come with bill of sale. Original, low hour first year KX500. This bike is a low hour bike with all the original running gear right down to the tires when I purchased it. It was rolled into a shed 30 years ago because it would not kick over. A tooth broke off the kick start idler gear and locked up the mechanism. I replaced the idea gear with a NOS gear. I disassembled, cleaned and inspected everything on this bike. Frame was in great shape, cleaned and left as is. Engine has a freshly plated and ported cylinder by Eric Gorr, well jetted new Lectron Carb, 84 head to eliminate the detonation prone head on the 83, stock pipe is in like new condition and was bead blasted and repainted. Silencer repacked. I replaced the original 83 clutch assy with one from a 84 KX 500. The 83 used bushings and the 84 used bearings. New plates and springs. Front forks rebuilt with all new seals, bushings and oil. Rear shock rebuilt and re-sprung for a 220-240# vet intermediate rider with Race Tech seals and oil. A heavier Eibach spring was installed. All the swing arm bearings and shock linkage was disassembled (still had lots of the original grease) cleaned, inspected and re-greased. New chain, DID ERT-2 and sprockets. New wheel bearings on both ends, new Dunlop tires front and rear, MX-31's I believe or a mixture of 31's and 51's but both new. New brake pads and shoes front and rear, front caliper rebuilt w/new seals, new bars. Also includes a complete rebuilt YZ 490 DLS front end, w/all new bushings, seals and Race Tech Emulators. This bike also comes with a complete 83 YZ 490 front end with the double leading shoe front brakes, YZ forks were rebuilt wit hall new seals, bushings and oil. YZ forks have Race Tech emulators installed and also has a new front MX-51 tire. This was done so that the bike could be raced in several different classes within vintage MX. 30 minutes to swap from the drum to disc brake front end. New seat cover, original is in nice shape but really slippery. Bike comes with all receipts, removed parts and owners service manual. Rare bike that you don't see at the track every day. Bike was sorted out on the practice track then raced at the 2014 Boise Inter-AM to confirm it's ready to go. You will not be disappointed. Why am I selling the bike? (offroad only) I just did a carburetor cleaning, tank & petcock cleaning, oil change, coolant flush and refill, greased the suspension linkage, adjusted the chain slack, adjusted the tire pressures, etc. I'll also throw in a brand new pair of black Scott "Hurricane" grips. It starts up relatively easy for a big bore 2 stroke, runs real good, will idle all day long and pull the front end up on demand. The transmission goes through all the gears smoothly, the clutch works well. No leaks or issues, the brakes work very well, the suspension is not blown, the tires are like new, the steering, suspension & wheel bearings all seem good. It's an excellent restoration candidate or have some fun with it as it is. It's a very rare & powerful bike and, best of all, it comes with the title. I'm also open to trade offers, but only for dirt bikes and sport/race quads. Many of these will not be straight up trades, so please be prepared to add cash on top. I, too am prepared to add cash on top for the right deal.
