Those were the years with cookouts on weekends, kegs of beer left next to the grill with stacks of cups. We’re pretty sure we enjoyed those years as well but no one here remembers how many bikes we sold. The Barnett family has been in the motorcycle business since 1973, and all five of us are still in the store every day, including 81-year-old business founder Sherman Barnett and his wife Christy who still both race 800 hp dirt track cars twice a week. I am the second owner of this motorcycle and have owned it for 30 years. It was refreshed 20 years ago and then made an appearance in Cycle World magazine in August of 1998. It was awarded 3rd place in the Classic Japanese Concours. (Bested only by a sand-cast KO, and a CB400f which was riding a wave of popularity at the time.) However, this is not a show bike and never was. It is the motorcycle I wanted in college but couldn't afford. 15 years after its debut, I bought this one at a yard sale and have treated it like a motorcycle - not a prop in a man-cave. Like all my motorcycles, it has been ridden fast and far. And, like all my motorcycles, it receives excellent care and maintenance. As pictured here, it is currently wearing a set of Lester cast wheels with Metzler Lazers for performance. The original factory wheels are included and are wearing IRCs with an OEM tread pattern. Also included, is a more recently acquired set of correct OEM Dunlop tires: K87 Gold Seal rear tire (new) and the extremely rare F6 front (very light wear). All the original parts that have been replaced, have been kept and are included in the sale. Due to photo limitations, not all has been shown. Included are 3 seats, full Vetter and Shoei touring package, Tracy 1/4 fairing with smoke windshield and a Japanese market 4-into-1 exhaust that has never been mounted. The bike is wearing replacement body work, purchased from Kawasaki in the late 1980's. The original body work (small badge tank) is included and is in factory finish, fair condition. Also, a Lockhart oil cooler with all fittings, case guards, luggage rack, chain, additional rear wheel with brake and axle assembly. The original switch-gear and wiring harness have been replaced with an aftermarket product for reliability. The original switches are in good cosmetic condition, but the wiring has become brittle and prone to cracks and shorts. Good for display, not so good for use. The only other mods are unseen: needle bearings in the swing arm and tapered rollers in the steering head. I am not interested in splitting this package, it all goes as one. Factory shop manual and owner's manual are included. Clear Missouri title plus the original title issued in Iowa in 1973. If you know these bikes, you know what to look for and I'm to glad to answer questions by phone or email and send additional requested pics. Terms of sale are simple: cash/cashier's check, in person, no shipping and no demo rides. May consider partial trade for Japanese adventure bike or sport-tourer. 1980 KAWASAKI KZ1000 LTD, low, low miles. Runs and rides excellent. No rattles, very tight. New tires, brakes, sprockets and chain, fork seals, plugs, wires, oil and filter, air filters, cam end plugs and more. Carbs completely rebuilt and with a stage three kit from Z1 ENT. Adjusted the valves ten miles ago. Really nice paint but not perfect. Does have a small chip on the tank but touched up, not real noticeable. Will be hard pressed to find one nicer at my asking price. Everything works with the exception of the flashers. Have not spent any time troubleshooting that issue. I would be willing to do a partial trade for either a Harley Sportster or Honda Goldwing 1500 with cash on my end. I reserve the right to end auction at any time, I also have bike listed locally. Thanks for looking.

This is the most fully documented Kawasaki Rickman CR I have ever seen with all of the invoices and paper work dating back to 1975. The bike has the full build sheet of the engine by RC engineering and paper work from Vetter fairing listing this bike as # 13 imported into the US. This is the holy grail in Rickman's in my book and one of the nicest bikes in my collection. I found this bike back in 2011 which was owned by a collector who mostly collected old Harleys and British bikes. He said he had always been fond of the Kawasaki Rickman and after looking at better than a dozen of them this was the purest and the most documented bike he had seen or found. The bike was stored and not run since the late 1980,s. This is an early Rickman kit with a frame date of 12/74 and I have heard that there were approximately 168 of the early style kits. The body work including the tank is all fiberglass. The bike is also title as a Rickman not Kawasaki. Like I said I have all the documentation on this bike right down to the assembly tag and the complete shim kit for rear swing arm/chain adjustment. I am going to read off the build sheet below. Chassis: Nickel plated frame & swing arm made from Reynolds 531 manganese molybdenum tubing. Borrani aluminum alloy rims laced to Rickman Brothers own hubs carry Dunlop K-81 tires with Lockheed dual piston disc brakes front and rear. Front forks are Rickman with 40mm sliders. Rear shocks are Girling. Extensive use of heim joints and aircraft quality Nylok nuts. Body work is color impregnated fiberglass with a 4 gallon fuel tank and a 3/4 windscreen. This chassis has less than 500 miles of use on it, all done with stock engine. Frame # 4699m and engine # Z1E34787 Engine: Taken from a wrecked bike with less than 2000 miles, this engine has been professionally rebuilt as an 1105 cc motor, with a 10:1 compression ratio, RC forged aluminum pistons, RC Engineering competition ported and polished cylinder head, Norris 407s high performance camshafts with triple valve springs and titanium retainers. Engine has chrome moly cylinder studs, copper coated alloy head gasket, K+N air filters and a Winning Performance 4 into 1 exhaust system. Approximately 125 horsepower to the rear wheel via a Denselube super chain. I did completely disassemble the bike clean and polish the frame and engine. I did detail the engine and check all valve clearances. A list of new parts I have installed on the bike is, new D.I.D chain, Dunlop D 404 tires and new stainless steel Buchanan spokes, new sealed battery, rebuilt front and rear brake master cylinders as well as both calipers, new air filters and new windshiled. The bike has brand new decals and paint and was painted by a professional who has had more than a half dozen bikes on the cover of Bagger Magazine and the paint is show quality as is the bike. The bike has a full Yoshimura racing exhaust now but I have the original exhaust it was built with that needs re chroming. I also have the original tank strap and other parts. The engine has had less than 1500 on since it was built. The gauges are unrestored in mint condition with 3896 miles on the speedo. I restored the handlebar switches and they are both 74 coded. I have a file 1 1/2 inches thick with an invoice for everything done to this bike since it was built! The bike runs very strong and everything works as it should with no issues! This motor was built by Rc engineering and the legendary Russ Collins who built Craig Vetters Rickman when he raced as a novice in Daytona back in the mid 70,s and it goes like hell! The only small flaws are light pitting on the top caps of the front forks, small ding on the # 4 front exhaust pipe and a light scratch on the rear of the chain guard. The frame plating is still in very nice condition for its age. The bike is not perfect but I would rate it a 9 out of 10 and would steal the show in any vintage Japanese bike show! I have a clear Mass title that is ready for transfer into the new owners name. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. International bidders are welcome. Due to the age the bike is being sold as is. Thanks for looking! This bike is 1 of 77 Kawasaki Rickman CR kits that was produced in 1974. The inside of the gas tank is in good shape and has never had any ethanol fuel in it. I am running 108 octane race fuel in it currently. The original stock carbs were also gone through and are running 20 pilot jets and 122.5 main jets which seem to work pretty well. Thanks again for looking! http://northdenvernews.com/1978-rickman-cr900-for-sale-rickman-kawasaki-rickmankawasaki/ Wanted to share this link from North Denver news as they speak about how nice my Rickman was restored. But on the bad side the used the details/specs from another Rickman listed on ebay.

Make us an offer on this bike!! You never know!! This listing is for a beautiful and almost all original and untouched 1980 KZ 1000 Z1 G-Classic. Produced only 1 year, the G-Classic was very limited in production and was Kawasaki's first fuel injected motorcycle. Very few are left running on the original fuel injection system. This is one of them. A G-Classic has been my personal bike for over 10 years and there is a simple secret to keeping these bikes running. The fuel injection system is VERY VERY sensitive to voltage change. If you keep a good charged battery in this bike at all times along with a Battery Tender hooked up at all times you should have no problems. This is an almost all original bike and untouched bike - from the exhaust to the seat cover. It even has the original type Good Year Eagle tires on it!! And, with the low mileage, they may even be the original tires but I can't guarantee this. The fuel tank inside has some light rust but is very cleanable. The only non-original parts I can find on it are the hand grips and throttle lock. The paint is in overall good condition but it shows it's age in several places as you can see in the pictures. All the chrome is in decent overall condition for its age. The usual peeling on the chrome engine parts is present. You will not be disappointed in the way it runs or looks. This would be the perfect restoration candidate if you are looking for a mostly original KZ 1000 Z1 G-Classic. Serial # is KZT00G-502416. Engine # is KZT00GE003304. Clear title in hand. Kawasaki has unleashed a new muscle bike for the streets. A combination of modern superbike performance and the nostalgia of one of Kawasaki's most famous models from the early 1980s, the all-new ZRX1100 delivers a street ride unlike any other. The ZRX1100's appearance immediately brings back memories of the Z-1R Eddie Lawson Replica with its striking green paint, tubular bridged aluminum alloy swingarm and four-into-one exhaust. And like any respectable hot rod, the big ZX-11 based engine stands naked in all its glory as the ZRX1100 is devoid of engine-hiding bodywork.
