1981 CB900"C"; Possibly the best quality CB900 on the east coast, if not the entire country, The "C" model has the 2-speed transfer case that effectively gives the rider 10 forward speeds, and both front forks and rear shocks are air adjustable. All factory decals are intact with no peeling or fading..All plastic lenses are perfect with no fading or glazing! Also, the bike came with the luggage rack /back-rest combo shown in the photos, as well as a chrome grab bar for the rear passenger. . . This is an unmolested factory original that is effectively in museum quality showroom condition! ..The bike starts and runs reliably . The bike now has 13,535 miles! Both original keys are included,,All fluids were replaced. A Honda original, handle bar mounted windscreen is included as well as a passenger grab bar. A Clymers Shop manual is included as well as both original owner's manuals and the original tire pressure gauge. The luggage rack back /rest combo is very rare and could be sold for $400 to $500 ! For sale is my 1981 Honda CB900 Custom (Street Cruiser or Light Touring) with 16,200 (might be more, as I am riding it) miles. Everything works as it should. This bike is original, except for the aftermarket windshield and Pioneer radio. I took the radio off the bike even though it works great, easy to re-install. The 1981 CB900C were the last of that series made in Japan, very high quality. The Honda has shaft drive, 5 speed trans with dual range transfer case (10 speeds shift on-the-fly), a 902cc 4 cylinder DOHC transverse engine that from the factory was rated at ~95hp. Air shocks rear suspension, air/spring forks on front. Seals are good all around. Luggage rack, sissy bar with pad. Newer battery. New front & rear Dunlop D404 metric cruiser tires, installed at Honda dealer, July2014. Fresh fluids: engine oil, trans, and final drive. Removable windshield. Eclipse Saddlebags and Eclipse Tank Bag included. Pioneer radio with CD player and mounting bracket, works very well, bike is already wired for radio. Note: there is some blemishing to the clearcoat on the housings. Clean green Michigan title in hand. This bike is licensed and insured, I ride it often, including a 400 mile road trip last month.

These bikes had a 395cc parallel twin engine that was air-cooled. Features included electric start and electronic ignition.The Honda CM series all generally resembled the older-style flat-seat bikes from the 60s and 70s, with the exception of a slightly raised passenger area seat and small plastic fairings for the battery and electrical. These are "standard" style motorcycles but do have some elements of the cruiser (stepped seat, increased fork angle, extra chrome). The CM400 series includes only a speedometer and three indicator lights (neutral, oil pressure, high beam) with a tachometer for the C and T models. The E (economy) model had wire wheels and drum brakes, while the others had "Comstar" alloy wheels and a front disk/rear drum braking setup. While not particularly powerful, the CM400's handling makes it one of the great starter bikes. Many engine components are common with the Honda CB400T models from the same year. The parallel twin engine has three valves per cylinder (two intake, one exhaust) and a five-speed manual or two-speed automatic transmission. In 1982, the CM engine was bored out to a 447 cc engine with six gears, and the series was renamed CM450.
