Buyer backed out of purchase so will try this again. This bike starts quickly and will idle but engine has blue smoke emitting from both exhaust when revved up and the starter clutch sometimes slips. The engine doesn't make any abnormal noise. There is no tail/stop light or turn signals. It has been repainted and has many blemishes/scratches and the chrome has scratches and minor rust as seen in pics. Tires have very good tread. Speedo and tach faces are not attached and shock hardware is missing. Inside of tank is clean with no rust. This bike needs work and is a project. It comes with a clean, clear Va. title and key. For sale is my 1983 Yamaha XS 650 Heritage Special with 31609 miles. It runs and drives good. This Heritage is the perfect candidate for a Café Racer or Bobber conversion. But you can ride it like this as well. It's not a show bike, has blemishes as you can see on the pictures. The left side cover is missing and the chrome has some rust. I have an 1983 Yamaha 650XS Heritage Special. This is a VERY clean bike. I am selling it for one of my customers. He can not ride anymore and has chosen to sell off his bikes. This bike has sat in a heated garage for almost all of its life. I brought it into my shop and have done a full service on it. New battery, carbs cleaned, chain oil, oil and filter changed, valves adjusted, brake caliper removed and rebuilt because it was hanging up a bit but works great now, full factory service from the axles to the mirrors. You will be hard pressed to find another XS like this one that has not been totally restored. Tires have lots of tread. The seat is perfect with no scratches or blemishes, side covers are the Yamaha Dealer Chrome package with all the bells and whistles. Bike doesn't leak oil anywhere, she runs and drives very nice.
