The Kreem lining on the inside of the fuel tank was in poor conditioned so we removed it with acetone then acid etched the inside and re-lined it with POR15 for decades more of trouble free use. This 1970 R75/5 has been set up for 2-UP Touring. Both wheel hubs had the bearings serviced and new stainless spokes were installed in the rear wheel and trued (the front wheel had already been done). A /6 subframe was used and the improved /7 driveshaft / swingarm was chosen to stretch out the wheelbase. 2970302 ? 70 R75/5 LWB Convert Teal. Konis SS Exhaust 2970302 ? 70 R75/5 LWB Convert Teal. It is fully serviced and ready to travel. It was converted to Long wheel base for more stability and more passenger room for 2-UP touring. We cleaned the carbs inspected and re-sealed the engine top end honed the cylinders and installed new rings. the clutch assembly was upgraded to the more robust /6 style. the mid size 750cc motor will get superior fuel mileage and smoother running than the larger size motors and still has plenty of horsepower to get 2 people and camping gear up to safe merging speed by the end of a short on ramp or to pass a truck quickly on a two lane by running it up to 80mph+. 1973 BMW R75/5 Long Wheel Base Silver #4006296 1973 R75/5 LWB Silver Toaster Tank. Very stylish!. It is big enough to be safe at freeway speeds and the Long Wheel Base makes it more stable when buffeted by trucks or weather than its much more common short wheel base R75/5 cousins. This blows it up to maximum size (about 6 times window size) and you can use the scroll bars to move around your view point like your eye is 2 feet from the bike. the bike has short low ? Euro? bars on it now but we will exchange them for the mid-height ? USA? bars if the buyer desires it set up that way. We would be happy to provide you with a quote for enclosed insured to-your-door delivery by a carrier we have a good history with. the bike starts easily warms up quickly and settles down to a smooth regular idle as a well running R75/5 should. SOLD.....2970302 ?70 R75/5 LWB Convert, Teal. 10 K Service. Konis, SS Exhaust, 2970302 ?70 R75/5 LWB Convert, Teal. 10 K Service. Konis, SS Exhaust, 2-UP Touring Package. This 1970 R75/5 has been set up for 2-UP Touring. It is fully serviced, and ready to travel. This BMW was originally a short wheel base bike. It was converted to Long wheel base for more stability and more passenger room for 2-UP touring. A /6 subframe was used, and the improved /7 driveshaft / swingarm was chosen to stretch out the wheelbase. Koni Shocks were installed. Because there is now more room, the battery box was converted to the /6 box to hold the larger battery. It is loaded with accessories and upgrades! Stainless Exhaust Headers and Mufflers, Koni Shocks, Pacifico Fairing and saddlebags, Boyer Electronic Ignition, Deep oil Pan, Fork Brace, Billet Top Triple Clamp, Cylinder Head Temperature Guage, Lift-off Dual Touring Seat with tall backrest, Huge tool Kit, Tire Pump, Reynolds Rack, Engine Guards, Dual Loud Horns, Reynolds Ride-off Centerstand, Custom Sidestand, and /6 clutch Upgrade.
