1974 Can Am MX-1 250 , Repical . This is my personal Vintage Race Bike . This is not a garage queen but a race bike . The frame is a 75 TNT frame powder coated 2 rides ago I did not powdercoat the swing arm as I was going to convert it to a needle bearing set up this winter . Before I decided to sell . The engine is the MX-2 , Magnesium 250 motor . MX-3 Jemco Pipe . MX -2 wheels . Black Betor Forks . Works Performance Shocks rebuilt last season . Renthal Bars , Megura levers , New Terry clutch and brake cables . New front and rear wheel bearings . Later model Taper Temkin steering bearings set at 28' degrees . New Dunlop MX 51 front tire and nice MX 51 rear tire still in nice shape . New heavy duty tubes and rim locks . The engine is running the oil pump injector . Much more than I can list on this bike . This bike runs very strong and starts on the 1st or 2nd kick . In 2014 this bike won the PNWVMX Series 40+ and was 2nd in the 50+ Amateur Championship . And 2015 it was raced 3 times . This is the most powerful 250 built in the day . You will not find another race ready Can Am for sale like this . I have an 1974 MX-1 125 frame that goes with the sale . FOR SALE 1977 HONDA XL350 We bought this bike a few years ago from a long time friend. This friend had owned this bike since 1985. Way back in 1985 he set off on a journey to create his own version of Bill Bell's Baja Bullet from the late 1970's. Clean and clear Oregon title. First off was the installation of a 403cc Powroll big bore kit. Also installed at that time was a mild Megacycle cam. While disassembled a brief clean up and smoothing out of the cylinder ports was done. Next was the fitting of a 1980 Honda XR500 carburetor. Well known for running great and good gas mileage. While the bike was apart the frame was cleaned up and any unneeded mounting hardware or tabbing for the OEM air filter box and battery stuff was neatly removed. Frame was professionally painted as Bob was pro-painter and owned his own auto body shop. At this time a custom "Mugen-like" air box was handmade and neatly installed/mounted on this bike. Bob is also a great fabricator. A new Al Baker's XR's Only exhaust pipe was purchased and installed. Still looks good. Sounds great! Header pipe has minor surface rust. While the rear end was apart the frame rails were custom modified for the installation of a at-the-time "modern" 1982 CR480 seat and rear fender section. Eliminating the big heavy XL350 seat and seat lock/helmet holder parts. All street-legal parts including: lights, wireharness, switches ETC were removed and are not included in the purchase of this bike. This bike could be made street legal again with time and effort finding the parts. We'd leave it just like it is though. A de-tabbed Honda XR500 rear swingarmwas mated up to the frame at this time as well. New mounts were made for the install of an UNKNOWN brand chain slider and chain guide. Both slider and guide are intact and in good used shape 1981-ish Honda XR500 front forks and clamps were installed. Increasing suspension travel and dampening. Custom steering stops were added to frame to make the new forks clear the then-new Clarke plastic tank. The Clarke tank now is a bit faded with some discoloration. Some of this fade disappears when you spray shiny stuff on it. We sprayed shiny stuff on it for the pics. You can see some of the stain on the sides though. Petcock currently functions fine. The vent tube nipple on the Clarke cap is broken. New caps are still avail from Clarke. In 1985, new Works Performance shocks were installed at that time too. Shocks are not leaking currently in 2016. Both seem to rebound and dampen nicely. Bike starts are runs well. Makes excellent power. Ideal for Vintage MX, trail riding or perhaps even flat tracking. Instant 2-3 gear wheelies on command. No clutch slipping needed. Brakes work decently well. Could probably use a good cleaning of the drums and shoes. Both still work OK and do not drag or stick when used. Shorty front brake lever decreased leverage and makes the cable pull harder than OEM. Front/rear tires are in good used shape. Mileage unknown. Front and rear rims are clean without dents or damage. Each wheel has 3-4 corroded spokes. Could be cleaned up and detailed with little effort. Front CR480 fender is faded but is not cracked. Rear CR480 fender is in good clean shape. Seat does not have any rips or tears. Foam feels nice and comfy. The aluminum Inter-Am handlebars are in good shape. After market controls work decently well also. The shorty clutch lever makes the clutch pull seem a bit firm. Throttle operates decently. The upper end of the throttle cable housing is separated from the end cap on the housing. Still works OK. Has a SUPER COOL solid aluminum exhaust valve cover with manual decompressor device built it. Cable is hooked up to a lever on the handlebar. All these parts work nicely. This bike was casually trail ridden in the Oregon coastal mountains for several years before being parked. Exact mileage on engine and performance parts is UNKNOWN. Mileage on the speedometer reads 9369. Bob said these meter was purchased at a local salvage yard though. Right before we purchased it Bob removed the top end to inspect for wear. All looked great and was reassembled with new gaskets. Bike starts and runs cleanly. No smoke. No unusual knocks, ticks or smoke, Transmission shifts smoothly. All kickstart parts operate properly too. This is an old bike with a lot of cool parts on it. Lots of time and effort was spent on this bike way back in 1985 to make it what it is. Bob is very meticulous. He was a auto-body paint shop owner and was also known to build custom tube-frames for sand rails. With a couple new fenders, number plates and perhaps that Bill Bell MR250 gas tank you would have quite the vintage racer!!!! Or simply ride and enjoy as-is. For sale is a pretty rare 1981 KTM 250 I have had in the collection. I decided to part with it because I had a chance to acquire and equally rare 1981 KTM 495. If you are a KTM fan you already know how hard these bikes are to find in good condition This is a great find for a KTM fan. It has been a collector/display bike while in my possession. The previous owner had the frame and swing arm powder coated and the top end done. It has good compression and usually starts on the 1st or 2nd kick and idles as it should. The plastic and decals are new and there is new tank skin on this bike as well. Seat cover I new as well. I started working on the spokes with lace luster and they are looking great. You will need to go through this bike prior to prepare it for trail riding or racing. The shocks will need fresh oil and a charge, maybe seals but I don't see oil leaking (parts are available through Thor suspension). Forks seem good and there are no leaks. I just went through the carb this past weekend and thoroughly cleaned and rebuilt it (Parts for the Bing carb are available through the Bing Agency, US). I don't recall seeing another one of these models for sale over the past 5 + years. This is a very good core bike and would not take much effort to make it a real show piece. First a little about me: I am in my mid 50's and have been riding and racing since I was 15. I know these two strokes inside and out. Your not buying from some young squid who beat the life out of a bike and never did maintenance. Now about the bike... 1998 KX250 two stroke. This was Dirt Bike Magazine's and MXA Bike of the year in 98. Great low to mid range power. I have it completely set up for Hare Scramble racing. It's great in the woods and for trail riding. It is NOT set up for MX and I wouldn't suggest using it that way without some changes in gearing and suspension. I started this build by completely sandblasting and inspecting the frame for damage or cracks. Then reinforcing the bottom of the frame for strength and those many hits a woods bike gets on bolders and logs. Powder coated in silver. Skid plate installed also. I fine bead blasted the rims which give them a nice look different from everyone else. The rear wheel is 18". The wheels have new bearing installed. The motor was completely redone. It is bored out to a 265 then sent for replating by US Chrome (who doesn't scrimp on their plating thickness). Brand new crank, rod, and bearings by Wisco. Porting professionally done by Boyesen. I extended the clutch arm lever by 1/2" for an easy 'hydraulic like' pull. Installed new VForce3 reeds and the icing on the cake is a APT cast Smart Carb ($400 alone). No jetting to mess with. It's as close to fuel injection as you can get. Runs spot on no matter the temperature or altitude. NO SPOOGE! Mixing at 32:1. The bike is equipped with an FMF Gnarly pipe with aluminum pipe guard. Repacked silencer. Runs nice and crisp. No Bog or hesitation. I installed an 8oz flywheel weight to help in both keeping more traction to the ground with easier starting and less stalling when lugging. Running 52 tooth rear sprocket enables me to climb anything short of Mt Everest (haha). Very easy to bunny hop over any obstacle. The bike has all brand new plastics. A 3 Gallon Clark tank with Acerbis reserve petcock. Oversize double row radiators. High output coil with Icat. Wide pegs, Brand new kick start lever. Guts tall soft seat foam and new ribbed gripper seat cover. Bark busters of course! All new bearing in linkage, swing arm, and steering stem. IMS shifter. I never got around to getting the suspension re-valved. As far as I know it's pretty much stock. All I did was replace the bushings, seals, and fresh oil. I weigh 175lbs and it works ok for me although the forks seem a little hard while the shock seems a little soft. I've Only raced it twice since finished and don't have time to go out riding. I think I could find my sweet spot adjusting the clickers, but like I said, no time right now. The previous owner weighed like 220 I think. The tires are geomax and not new, but not bald, they will get you by for awhile but I suggest putting on a fresh set of your choice. Don't waste your $$ on a $1200 bike that you have to put another $1000 or more into to bring it up to snuff. This bike DOES NOT have a TITLE. You will get a Bill of sale.
