Greg Anderson has over 30 years of experience building Type 4 engines. Best in the industry. Our watercooled engine packages produce more power without a turbo than ones with them. Everything is new and assembled by technicians with over 25 years of experience, only the best. Transaxle: We include dual CNC’d aluminum heavy duty side covers. All our cases are hand selected and powder coated. We use one piece rubber axle boots. The attention to detail is amazing. All new stainless steel hardware. All new internals. Transaxle cases are constructed of magnesium which can be tough to powder coat and clean up without making massive pit-marks or cracks… our powder coater has over 15 years of experience in powder coating. We simply do not spray paint the trans case like other builders in the industry. Chassis: DOM steel, MIG welded by our experienced welder who has over 20 years of welding chassis under his belt. Each chassis is then powder coated, not painted. Powder coating is far more durable which prevents scratching and easy rock chips later down the road. All chassis are constructed in our jigs to ensure perfect fitment, true and straight driving/suspension mounts. We do not cut any corners whatsoever. Our floors are solid aluminum unlike our other competition who uses fiberglass floors which are unsafe. I strongly believe the classic car market is a great place to invest in. When the economy is strong, the classic car market is extremely strong. When the economy isn't so strong the classic car market holds its own. I've sold classic cars and trucks in both economic conditions. The reason classic cars make such a great investment is because people are crazy about cars, especially classic cars. It’s all about supply and demand not about a good or bad economy. The classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people want but there aren’t many on the market for sale. The classic cars that are on the decline are the cars that a lot of people don’t want anymore and there’s many on the market for sale. Of course, if the car is a rare model and spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. Desirable factory correct classic cars that are documented with matching numbers always make solid investments. Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character and there worth what people are willing to pay. Prior to this business I was just a blue collar guy who was working full time selling new and used Mercedes Benz. I was very passionate about classic cars and trucks so I decided to sell them part time. Although I had my used car dealer’s license I didn’t have my own dealership. Walsh Jr., 43, and firefighter Michael R. Kennedy, 33, above the words “Last Alarm 3/26/2014.” “I’m speechless, actually,” Kennedy said Sunday. “It’s a gorgeous, gorgeous thing. The whole bike is a work of art.” Motorcycle enthusiasts gathered alongside firefighters and city officials Sunday at Florian Hall in Dorchester for the unveiling of an Orange County Choppers-designed motorbike that honors the firefighters killed in the March 26 fire. The New England Patriots will hold a raffle for the bike and give it away at their final home game this year on Dec. 28. The $10 raffle tickets will go on sale Tuesday at nefc2014.com. PAYPAL ONLY. Somewhat rare car IN NEED OF TOTAL RESTORATION. Genuine 1969 Checker Marathon Sedan made in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Has the rare and sought after Chevy 327 V8 engine. Hey, didn't they use that motor in the Corvettes and Chevelles? Borg-Warner heavy duty automatic transmission. I am the third owner of this vehicle and have owned it 10 years. Please read the ENTIRE description before clicking the BUY IT NOW. MAKE SURE YOU WANT A PROJECT VEHICLE, OK? Car ran great 10 years ago when I bought it. The first day I owned it I drove it from Lexington, Kentucky to Memphis, Tennessee a distance of approximately 428 miles with no issues. That is a pretty good feat for a brand new car, let alone a 1969 vehicle. I've enjoyed owning it and had some fun driving it around. For the last several years the car has sat and hasn't been started for about 6 years, mostly due to life getting in the way. I will try to go into detail on what the car needs, but the list is large and it is easier to just say the car NEEDS A TOTAL RESTORATION, to put it simply. The most obvious thing is the rust/rot/corrosion everywhere that Checkers are known for. If rust scares you, you might want to pass on this one. I grew up in Ohio and have seen and driven many "rust buckets", so rust doesn't scare me -- it can be fixed if you want to spend the time, money and effort. You might know Checkers were designed to have replaceable fenders that unbolt in case of accidents, so replacement is very easy. Front floorboards are rusted clear through as you can see in the pics. The door jambs/hinges have rust, so that area is weak and flimsy feeling and needs to be reinforced with metal, in my opinion. The Checker has a heavy duty truck type frame, no uni-body crapola here. Study the pics, plenty of rust to deal with. Trunk has holes, too, yep, yep. Paint, body work, etc. Besides the rust, the body lines are pretty straight. Cool thing about this car was that it was purchased as a passenger car and NEVER SPENT TIME AS A TAXI. Another great feature is the Chevy 327 V8 engine, lotta these old Checkers have 6 cylinder engines in them -- not this baby! Gas tank has a small leak in the bottom, so all the gas drains out, so that will need to be addressed. I think you can do a quickie fix with epoxy that will get you by, or you may want to swap out the tank. Tires hold air and will roll, but the car sat a long time on cement, so the tires have flat spots on them. The last time I drove it above 45 mph the car shook a lot due to the tires, so they will need replaced, of course. The car has the rare air conditioner option, which needs restored, as well, but is complete and rarely seen on 60's Checkers. Also, the 1969 still features the chrome bumpers and grille, before they started to cheap out and put the gray truck bumpers and grille in the early 70's. Looks much nicer, in my opinion. Car also has the big truck type steering wheel before they started putting the GM units with the column ignition switch. This car still has the dashboard ignition switch. The upholstery is shot and needs replaced, but features a nice two-tone blue color theme originally. Carpet is shot and needs replacement. I do have the horn ring and the original Checker horn button, which I am including, along with the V8 fender badges, which are a rare part in and of themselves. I also have all the service records performed on the car since new, which I will hand the new owner as well as the original owners manual. Motor is not locked up, but will need to get running again. Like I say, the car has sat for 6 years and has been neglected. Transmission was fine when the car was parked. As were the brakes, lights, turn signals, etc. WHAT CONDITION THEY ARE IN NOW, I don't know. The battery is dead, so you will need a new battery in addition to everything else that needs restoring. The rear driver side door window is broken out and missing, so that will need replaced. It is straight glass with a slight green tint as was used on most 60's cars with factory air, this glass can be ordered and cut by any local auto glass shop -- it is not hard to find. The other glass is all good. It has a factory Checker radio, but it does not work for some reason, not sure what is up with that. Probably tons and tons of more little stuff that I am forgetting, but if you have seen the tv show Fast N Loud you know what you are up against. The price of the car just gets your foot in the door and the sky is the limit and what you can do with a cool old car like this. Car is sold AS IS NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS what you see is what you get BRING YOUR TRAILER it does not run. I could spent the time and money and get it to run, but then I would still have to deal with the rust holes, no floorboards, upholstery, paint job, etc, etc, etc, so I AM GOING TO LET YOU HAVE ALL THE FUN, ok? Ask any questions, I am happy to answer them. It is a cool old car. Odometer shows 30,000 or so miles, which is probably 130,000 and rolled over, of course, it looks more like a couple million, doesn't it??!! ONE MORE TIME IN CASE YA MISSED IT. Car doesn't run. NEEDS total restoration. Has a lot of rust, see pics. DON'T BID and change your mind. It is a BIG project, but think what you will have when you are finished! I HATE a cry baby. Don't buy and tell me there is rust. Don't buy it and tell me this doesn't work and that doesn't work -- I've already covered it -- I said it needs total restoration. I'm selling it cheap enough I expect full payment by Paypal within 48 hours. There is plenty of potential with this cool old car. I have priced it dirt cheap. Three Checker Marathons in driveable condition sold last month on eBay, one for $4,000 one for $6,000 and one for $7,300 you can look them up, they are not show cars, just average Checkers. I've seen Checker show cars in the $15-25K range as you can imagine, again think Fast N Loud........ Again, for Pete's sake, no cry babies. If you buy it, you take it home and deal with it. If your wife says you can't have it, that is a personal problem for you to work out between you and her, none of my business. I say this because there is a high failure rate with eBay car sales in general and especially project cars. I want to avoid and problems on the front end and avoid having to relist the car for sale. It is for sale now. You will need to pick it up with your trailer and winch or flatbed truck. Did I mention it has a LOT OF RUST. It is a rust bucket. The parts alone are rare and worth more than my selling price. A set of wheel covers is listed on eBay for $150 used. A hood emblem is currently on eBay for $125. The V8 badges are rare and worth $100. The original horn button is worth big money. AC unit is worth big money. Chrome bumpers are worth money. I have an extra rear fender that I am including with the sale. I am also including the original rear window trim rubber with the metal insert, which is rare -- the rubber is rotted, but the insert could be reused -- new repros of this part sell for $200 on eBay. I have a partial roll of early 60's Chevy blue cloth upholstery fabric that I am including that is a pretty good color match. You get the idea, if you buy the parts for $1250, you get the car for free, if you want to look at it that way. I could part it out and make that money and then call the junkyard and get another $400 for the carcass, but I want to keep it together and see the car roll down the road again and if you like cars, you probably do as well! In fact, if you have read all this rambling, YOU MUST REALLY WANT A CHECKER BADLY. Rear passenger side door won't open for some reason, it did when I bought the car. You know, there is a lot of little quirks to deal with along with the more major restoration items. It is a project, a hobby, and should be a lot of fun. How about a father and son project? Sounds good to me! The paint is in terrible condition, needs repainted. Car is located in Como, Mississippi on Interstate 55 about 45 minutes south of Memphis. CAR DOES NOT RUN. This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different. The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages. Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration. An example would be a classic vehicle that's being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc. Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored. There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the body, paint, glass, lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components. The consumers are spending thousands of dollars repairing the classic vehicles they've purchased after the sale. A bad purchase could turn into the buyer’s worst nightmare and be extremely costly! For 1993 model year only, Land Rover got an exemption from U.S. DOT to import only 500 to the states. This was a once in a lifetime deal and nothing like this has happened since. This was highly unusual for a major automotive manufacturer like Land Rover. The NAS Defender 110s were like no other 110 ever built and it took the factory a year to hand produce the 534 that were made for North America. 500 were specifically built for the U.S., 9 prototypes were built, and 25 were built for Canada. They all came in Alpine white except for one special black unit for Ralph Lauren. This particular example was built in October of 1992. Newport Auto Center of Newport Beach, California sold it new on January 8th, 1993 to Pikes Peak Champion and renowned automotive photographer, Jeff Zwart. He is still the registered owner and we are extremely honored and excited to help him pass this historical Defender onto its next caretaker. As Zwart said, this vehicle is really part of his family and is his second longest automotive relationship next to his original 914-6 that was his first car when he was a teenager. The memories he has created with this 110 would fill volumes. It has been with him on his travels through over a dozen different countries and countless States. Here are a few of the highlights of the excursions this NAS 110 has been on: 1997 Panama – Alaska Rally 90-competitors from over 16-counries Zwart finished 2nd overall in his 914-6 10,000-mile rally The Defender was his support vehicle for the entire trip Traveled over 13,000-miles in support His father was one of his crew-members Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Supported efforts at more than 10-events Support during his 1994 Open Class Championship for Porsche Drove Porsches to 8 different class wins Camping and Canoe trips Part of the family on countless back-country trips Taken throughout most of the Western United States His kids grew up with this 110 as another member of the family When Zwart was not using the 110 as a support vehicle for his races, rallies, hill climbs, or family camping trips, it lived in a dry garage in either Orange County, California or Aspen, Colorado. Unlike many of the 110s that are driven hard and put away wet, Zwart’s example lived a charmed life. Yes, it was used as it was intended to, but it was never abused or driven beyond its capabilities. It was never put in harm’s way and it was obsessively maintained (as you would expect from a professional race driver). Looking through the receipts and discussing the history with Zwart, it is clear that he wanted his Defender to always be in top condition and ready for the next adventure at a moment’s notice. He has even retained the original Panama-Alasaka Rally book for this 110 and finisher’s chrome badge (see pics). Highlights of recent services include: New clutch Replaced suspension (shocks and springs) BF Goodrich Mud/Snow All Terrain tires (nearly full tread) New catalytic converter (will pass CA smog) New muffler New transfer case (nearly $7k) 60k mile major service done at 48k-miles Replaced power steering box Replaced left-rear wheel cylinder Front brakes replaced at 46k-miles New headliner Frequent oil services/inspections Upon closer inspection, it is clear that this is not only one of the most historically significant NAS 110s, but it is in one of the best original condition examples. Yes, these vehicles are built stout and rugged; however, there are parts of them that are extremely fragile. The cloth interiors are susceptible to wear and tend to show distress early on. The body shells are very thin aluminum and get damaged easily. Finally, the chassis are prone to rust. You will see many of the 110s on the market in need of a complete restoration by time they hit 80k-miles. Zwart’s 110 is in pristine condition considering the age/miles. It looks like it has lived most of its life in a garage and on dry streets. The chassis is extremely dry with no signs of rot or major corrosion. It has never been in an accident. The paint is all original and verified with a paint meter. It is in excellent shape with just some minor dents on the soft aluminum doors from people pushing them closed. All the glass is in excellent shape as well. The windscreen was replaced with a factory replacement sometime ago by the dealer. The interior is equally as nice and all original. The cloth seats show minimal signs of wear. The headliner is new and looks great (they have a tendency to droop). The dash has no cracks and looks new as well. The door panels and carpet are also in very good condition. Factory Land Rover rubber rain mats have done a great job protecting the carpet. All the gauges, lights, and winch work properly. The factory radio also works, as it should. The A/C blows cold, but the fan only works on the lower speeds. As Zwart dropped the 110 off with me, he said, “I know it sounds cliché, but the Defender is driving better than it every has…” We joked about how it is so true that the day you get rid of your car, it is at its best. But, he was absolutely right. This 110 drives amazingly. I’ve been fortunate enough to experience a few of these including a sub 30k mile example and this drives the best of the bunch. The steering is precise and tracks perfectly. The shifting is butter smooth with no grinding. The clutch feels great and engages properly with no slipping. The brakes aren’t quite like a Porsche, but they still have excellent pedal feel with decent stopping power for the size of the vehicle. Although it’s a heavy vehicle, the engine has good power with strong low-end torque that is quite adequate to get the girth moving along. Whether you are looking for a weekend adventure machine, something to continue to use as a support vehicle, or more of a fun collectible with a great history, this Defender NAS 110 can wear many different hats. I am selling my Willys M38 Jeep that was finished as a MB clone. This 1952 military jeep was built for the Korean war and is a true military jeep, but this one has the MB grille/bucket lights and older style windshield added. Many new parts. The Willys runs and drives well and is parade ready. No oil leaks to speak of. Maybe one or two drips at the most. I drive this jeep every other day to the store and everybody honks and waves. This is a great jeep for you to have fun with the kids and grandkids as it has all the safety upgrades, such as blinkers, tail lights, seat belts, head lights, black out lights, and horn. This jeep starts every time winter or summer. 4x4 works as it should. Not perfect, but ready to drive and have fun with. It cruises about 40 mph. The speedometer reads about 8 mph too fast so you'll think you're driving 48 mph! Clean Kansas Title. The stencils are painted on, they aren't the cheap vinyl stickers. WIKIPEDIA INFORMATION: The Norton Commando was a British Norton-Villiers motorcycle with an OHV pre-unit parallel-twin engine, produced by the Norton Motorcycle company from 1967 until 1977. Initially having a nominal 750 ccdisplacement, actually 745 cc (45.5 cu in), in 1973 it became an 850 cc, actually 828 cc (50.5 cu in). It had a hemi-type head, similar to all OHV Norton engines since the early 1920s. During its ten years of production, the Commando was popular all over the world. In the United Kingdom it won the Motor Cycle News "Machine of the Year" award for five successive years from 1968-1972. Given that its engine was an old pre-unit design, even Norton's chairman, Dennis Poore, expressed surprise at the Commando's remarkable success. Background The origins of the Norton Commando can be traced back to the late 1940s when the 497 cc (30.3 cu in) Norton Model 7 Twin was designed by Bert Hopwood. The twin-cylinder design evolved into 600 cc, then the 650 cc Manxman and Dominator until superseded by 750 cc Atlas before being launched as the 750 cc Commando in 1967. As well as having a radical new frame, the Commando's engine (which was mounted vertically in earlier models) was tilted forward. This was relatively easy as the engine was "pre-unit", that is, the gearbox was not integral with the crankcase, and the change gave three benefits: (1) the centre of gravity was moved further forward; (2) this allowed more space behind the carburetors for the airbox; and (3) it gave an attractive raked appearance to the motorcycle. Isolastic system The revolutionary part of the Commando, compared to earlier Norton models, was the award-winning frame developed by former Rolls-Royce engineer Dr. Stefan Bauer. He believed the classic Norton Featherbed frame design went against all engineering principles, so Bauer designed his frame around a single 2.25 in (57 mm) top tube. Bauer tried to free the Commando from classic twin vibration problems, which had severely increased as the volume of the basic engine design expanded from the 500 cc of Edward Turner's 1938 Triumph Speed Twin. This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different. The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages. Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration. An example would be a classic vehicle that's being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc. Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored. There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the body, paint, glass, lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components. The consumers are spending thousands of dollars repairing the classic vehicles they've purchased after the sale. A bad purchase could turn into the buyer’s worst nightmare and be extremely costly! MS CLASSIC CARS specializes in beautiful classic cars and trucks that are at a higher level of quality than most being advertised for sale. I personally have selected these vehicles and take pride in what I represent. I'm not a classic car dealer who is only looking to make a quick buck.
