I've seen the hobby continue to grow not only on the internet and auctions but also with the amount of television shows, magazines and websites that are related to classic cars in some form or another. It’s all about supply and demand not about a good or bad economy. The classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people want but there aren’t many on the market for sale. The classic cars that are on the decline are the cars that a lot of people don’t want anymore and there’s many on the market for sale. Of course, if the car is a rare model and spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. Desirable factory correct classic cars that are documented with matching numbers always make solid investments. Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character and there worth what people are willing to pay. Prior to this business I was just a blue collar guy who was working full time selling new and used Mercedes Benz. I was very passionate about classic cars and trucks so I decided to sell them part time. Although I had my used car dealer’s license I didn’t have my own dealership. This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different. The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages. Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration. An example would be a classic vehicle that's being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc. Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored. There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the body, paint, glass, lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components. The consumers are spending thousands of dollars repairing the classic vehicles they've purchased after the sale. A bad purchase could turn into the buyer’s worst nightmare and be extremely costly! An Original mileage title showing only 50xxx miles   Rare Drop-Head Coupe 1991cc 6 Cylinder engine 4-speed Wilson Preselector gearbox 2 door, four seat Convertible Light Restoration 60 years of History The Armstrong Siddeley Hurricane was a two door, four seat  drophead coupe which was named after the famous RAF Hurricane fighter plane made by the British company of Armstrong Siddeley. This automobile was made from 1946 to 1953 and based on the 1945 Armstrong Siddeley Lancaster. The chassis featured independent front suspension using torsion bars and a live rear axle with leaf springs. A Girling hydro-mechanical braking system was fitted, with the front drums hydraulically operated while those at the rear used rod and cable. The four seat, two door body was made of steel and aluminum panel fitted over a wood and aluminum frame. The doors were rear hinged, an arrangement that got the name of suicide doors. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this handsome and rarely seen 1947 Armstrong Siddeley Hurricane. This is a truly post war British classic, purchased directly at the Armstrong factory by the first owner, an attorney from the Northeaster United States.  In fact, one of the four owners (1952-2015) was a member of the Armstrong Siddeley Owner’s club (ASOC) showing just one example of their love and dedication to this marque! The Hornet was also built by American Motors Corporation (AMC) in Kenosha Wisconsin and marketed under the Hudson brand between 1955 and 1957. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this unique and rarely seen 1953 2 door Twin H Hudson Hornet, truly classic American collector’s find! First-generation Hudson Hornets featured a functional “step-down” design with dropped floor pan and chassis creating a lower center of gravity than contemporary vehicles that aided the car’s handling capabilities which was a bonus for racing. The Hornet’s lower and sleeker look was accentuated by streamlined styling, sometimes called “ponton” styling. The car’s unique, low slung appearance and silky handling earned Hudson an image that – for many buyers – eclipsed luxury marques like Cadillac. The 1953 model year brought minor changes to the Hudson Hornet. The front end was modified with a new grille and a non-functional air scoop hood ornament. Four different body designs were produced: a two-door club coupe, Hollywood hardtop, Convertible Brougham, and a four-door sedan. Hudson Hornet 1953 model year production totaled 27,208 units of which around 910 were the Hollywood hardtops. As a point of interest, an upgraded 8-tube radio was a option. Finished in classic and desirable black exterior over a very original blue/gray cloth interior,  the paint finish and body show extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Based in Glendale, CA Navarro Engineering became one of the premier speed shops for classic American hot rods and lake bed racing. Mr. Navarro is known as one of the founding fathers of hot rodding, an engineer by trade but was highly successful in other fields such as medical equipment; he excelled in personally machining performance parts for flat head V8’s. He was a founding member of the Glendale Strokers car club, whose members included some of the most prominent lake bed racers and record holders in that era. The San Fernando Valley became the epicenter of hot rodding culture with local residents like Von Dutch collaborating to create some of the fastest and most stylish hot rods in the country. This legendary truck appears to be the one and only Navarro Shop Truck used from the 1960’s forward to pick up and deliver parts to and from the speed shop. We did speak with a descendent of Mr. Navarro who informed us, the truck was sold many years ago after his death. The company lives on today as H&H Flatheads, while we do not have any documentation as such we can tell you this is one bitch’n truck that gets more looks than a fully restored one! The wooden bed is in great condition, with no rot or damage visible. The body panels are solid with minor surface rust found on upon closer inspection. There are several dings and dents to be found, however they only add to the character of this trusty steed. Before you decide to bid please research the company to learn about an unknown family operated car company. this particular truck is as you can see an unfinished project that needs to be finished. The powell manufacturing company took used and wrecked cars and cut apart. using the chassis motor and interior they built the powell truck. they used 1939- 1942 Plymouth, Chrysler, or Dodge.The company was family owned and operated. after they stopped making trucks in 1957 the made scooters and motorcycles. powell tucks can be found in several museums and have been next to impossible to find one forsale. This truck is an basket case. the previous owner past away mid restoration so many parts are off the truck and some are missing. i have not take an inventory of what is there and what is missing. buyer beware that the truck is not running and is not complete. you are welcome to come see it before buying but it will be sold on an as is bases. the front grill is in the cab of the truck but the fiberglass front fascia of the truck is missing. the fiberglass was very thin from the factory and most of them broke or fell off. i have a diagram of the missing front end on how to have it made including dimensions that most fiberglass shops can use to make the part. the plans were made by a member of the Powell club that has restored a few and has a wealth of information on the truck. i will try to help you with any questions and i have tracked down a few experts on the truck and i am confident ever parts can be found or easily made. the windows only slide and half of each side is missing. the truck has a few boxes of parts that go to this truck but many are missing of need to be made. the seat door panels and other interior parts are missing. there is a few boxes of parts inside the truck with a parts to the truck. still has a handful of original badges that say POWELL custom built in Compton California the tailgate and grill are included. the factory made the grills out of 3 piece of 1950 ford rear door trim. the tires still have the stickers on the tread from the store. it looks like it has had a new wire harness ran through it but its not all attached. the headlight gauges and many other things are ready to be wired but are not installed yet. before we got the truck the owner was restoring the truck. it appears the engine has had work done and i think it would start up and run with a little work. it is not running now. the radiator is off. the rear end has two sliding drawers. one is a tool box and the other is a fishing pole holder. one of less than 20 with 2 sliders.under the tailgate is a bolt on cover that hides the spare tire (missing) that mounts under the bed. windshield is broken but it is just a piece of flat glass. the doors open and close with ease. they latch great. the door hinges are actually on the out side of the door. from the factory the truck were hand built from other care from the 50s or parts from the hardware stores in 1956. the tuck is a work of simple makes sense engineering. it was a crude utilitarian truck made cheep with what they had. contact me for all the links for the history and information on the truck. ebay dose not allow links in the listing Please contact me with any questions. you can text me any time at 574 514 2654 but i work during the days so please call in the evening This truck is not running and is sold as is where is. you buy it you worry about hauling it. shipping is on the buyer. buyer must pay the deposit within 2 days and have the full payment to me before the title or truck is released. i will try to pack the spare parts as safe as is can in the cab for shipping. we reserve the right to remove the truck at any time. the truck is for sale locally. be sure to check out my other rare car parts and accessories. message or text me for questions. thanks for looking. happy bidding. It's a rather conservative design, with two valves per cylinder, and pushrods opening the overhead valves. On this version, the pistons, rockers and pushrods have been lightened to improve "revability." There's also twin-spark ignition, which employs two spark plugs per cylinder to better light the fires. Stirred to life by a starter motor larger than the one in my car, and powered by a hefty 18 amp-hour battery, the big Guzzi cranks over nicely. Buyer's Inspection We do our best to disclose all information known about this vehicle for auction. We welcome a Buyer's Inspection. Payments We accept Certified/Cashiers Checks and Funding Transfers in $US only. Winning Bidder must confirm the winning bid with a $500 Non Refundable Deposit within 48 hours of auction end. Balance of Purchase Price is due to Seller within 5 days of the end of the auction. Taxes and Fees "Buyer" is responsible not only for knowing their own states' laws regarding taxes and fees, but also remitting the proper taxes, fees, and documents for their state. All taxes and fees must be paid in full in order for the vehicle to be titled and registered. Florida buyers need only remit state TT&L to us and we would be happy to handle the registration process for you at no additional cost. Trias Auto also applies an administration fee, documentary fee to the transaction. All buyers pay a $269.00 documentary fee. Title Information Vehicle titles may be held by banks or lenders as collateral for loans. In many cases there is a delay in receiving the original instruments of up to 21 days from the time we pay a vehicle off. While we usually have all titles in our possession at closing, there are occasions where we may be waiting for them to arrive. Finalizing Your Purchase Winning bidder MUST communicate with us by e-mail or phone within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make arrangements to complete the transaction. If we cannot confirm your intention to buy or the sale is not completed within 2 business days, we reserve the right to re-list this vehicle or sell to any other qualified buyer. Before the vehicle is released for shipment to the "Buyer", all sale-related and title-related paperwork must be signed and returned completed to the "Seller". Shipping and Delivery All shipping charges are the "Buyer's" responsibility. We will help with shipping arrangements but will not be responsible in any way for claims arising from shipping damage! Licensed "Carriers" are generally insured for $500,000. We assume no responsibility for damages incurred after the vehicle leaves our showroom. All shipping arrangements provided by us are strictly a courtesy. We are not affiliated with any carrier. Any claims or other communication regarding shipment of vehicles will be between you and the "Carrier" and not with us. The amount of time it takes for delivery depends upon the "Carrier" selected. A typical experience is 7-14 days from the date the vehicle is picked up from our facility until it is delivered to your destination. Verify with the "Carrier" for an Estimated Time of Arrival to be sure. Returns are allowed in the event the vehicle is shipped and you are dissatisfied. However, a 10% restocking fee applies and the return must take place within 7 days from receipt and the vehicle must have fewer than 200 miles difference upon return.
