1973 Honda CB500 Café Racer. Just over 14,000 original miles. Teardown and rebuild. Everything has been either replaced or reconditioned. Clear IL title in my name. Frame: Frame, swing arm, center stand, side stand, triple tree, front fender have been Powder Coated, left side exhaust hanger and original seat tabs removed. Triple Tree bearings replaced with new taper bearing type. Engine: Cleaned and painted silver, new seals and side cover gaskets. Shifts great, clutch pack thickness within specs., new throttle cables, intake/exhaust valves gap set, cam chain tension set, new breaker and condenser rebuild kit, timing set. Carbs have been cleaned, rebuilt with rebuild kit with stock jetting and synched. New MAC 4 into 1 exhaust. New plugs. Suspension: Bushings have been greased, front fork seals replaced, forks polished, new gators, new rear shocks. Rims: Rims have been powder coated, spokes zinc plated, new tubes and Avon Road Rider tires, sealed type bearings. Cross drilled front rotor, rebuilt caliper with new piston, brake pads, master cylinder rebuild and new brakes lines. Rear drum has new shoes. Misc. Dime City Bug-Eye seat/pad with LED tail light, gas tank is from a 75' CB550 with rebuilt petcock, Dime City headlight, clubman bars, electrics all work, Built Well grips, new clutch and speedo cable. Original speedometer, works well up to about 65mph then gets flakey. Tachometer has been removed, tachometer and speedo/tach mount bracket will go with bike along with service manual. Custom 3 color paint job. Stock type air filter and air box cover. New battery. Bike fires right up and runs great, clutch engagement is great. Engine RPM does stay a little higher than idle after riding for a while when coming to a stop, then creeps back down to idle. Finer carb tuning may be necessary if bothersome. I have ridden bike over 80 miles after rebuild and have not had any issues. Bike is very well built and is real nice for a rider. Handles great, accelerates smooth and brakes like a vintage era bike. Absolutely. Incredible. At the risk of overstating the obvious here, you may be looking at the last remaining "new" CB500T. A one-owner since brand new, 1978 CB500T, this is a real survivor- the last of her kind. The basics: 1978 Honda CB500T. 13,000 original miles. She rolled off the showroom floor almost 40 years ago, and looks nearly identical. Every single nut, every bolt, every piece of plastic- every screw, absolutely just like OEM. It has a few era-correct upgrades. Triple 4 luggage rack, specific to this era. Upgraded horn, also vintage correct. That's it. Everything else is OEM as it was new. Even has ribbed tires. They are not in need of immediate replacement. It has the original owner's manual and the toolkit in the handy blue vinyl bag. The seat is immaculate- flawless brown "stitched" vinyl. Starts up immediately, first time every time. No choke needed except on cold mornings. The starter button was replaced about 30 years ago with a more reliable switch, but that's pretty common. Take a look at the control pods left and right. The paint inside the letters is still crisp and red. Never seen a drop of rain. Stored indoors. No rust, except in the normal spots like the header bolts, exhaust manifold etc. Absolutely no rust on the body, frame or wheels. Everything works exactly as it's supposed to. All of the lights, horn, switches, levers, springs etc. I cannot stress how correct the bike is. I'll let the pictures just speak for themselves. This is the most expensive CB500T to ever hit the market. I understand that. It's also the closest to museum quality that I have ever seen. I have owned hundreds of mid 60s to late 70s vintage Hondas, and I would put this one up against the best one I've ever seen. There are three cosmetic flaws on the bike. One, is the gauges. They are made of a early plastic material, and all of the CB's of this era had some deformity. These are only very slight. Two, are the rubber o-rings around the gauges. They are worn, and need to be replaced but they are only about $10. Third, the black caliper paint on the front brake is flaking. Another common cosmetic issue. That's really it. In fact, not to sound arrogant but I will offer you a crisp $100 bill if you come see the bike and you look me straight in the face and tell me it isn't the cleanest CB500T you have ever seen. I know my hundred dollar bill is safe. Clean and clear Texas title in hand. Original owner since zero miles.

I am putting my CB500 Cafe Bike up for sale. I bought the bike last summer with just over 900 miles on a newly rebuilt engine. The build was done over the 15-16 winter months up in Marshall MI. I put a little over 300 miles on the bike last summer with the current mileage at 1202. The bike is clean and very well done. The tank is done in a British racing green. It has adjustable rear shocks from dime city cycles and has been lowered 2 in from the original ride height. The tach and speedo gauges are mini billet aluminum gauges to keep a clean minimalist look and are also from dime city cycles. The headlight is a round cafe style and is from dime city cycles. The battery is a ballistic anti - gravity battery. Both the rider and passenger rear sets are black aluminum and from dime city, as well as, the black brat style cafe seat. The dual carbs are mikuni and are set up for pod filters but can be jetted for trumpets if you want. The tires were new with the build. The bike is garage kept when not being ridden.
