So I purchased this bike in an estate sale with other bikes and parts. The sellers told me that their father bought the bike in the late 1980s and built the bike through the 90s but was an ongoing project. We installed a new battery and put fresh fuel in it and It fired up but bogged/died at idle. So after cleaning all 6 carbs It runs and idles now but needs tuning (carbs synced). The exhaust note is extremely loud (and unique) with these short pipes! The bike rides good but I didn't want to be too aggressive without the carbs tuned correctly. The frame is custom and has had all the welds smoothed out. Due to this there are no stamped numbers on the neck, just the vin plate and a custom plate that have been stuck on with double backed tape. I have a clean CA title issued in 1990 on hand but it has fallen out of the CA dmv system. The bikes vin # on the tag, motor # and plate # all match the title. I do not know the original miles on the bike, there is a odo in the box of spare parts that has 16k miles but I have no way of knowing if that's the original. Also including a set of longer pipes with brackets that are unfinished. Please review the pictures, they say more than I can. The bike has had a lot of time put into it. Honda 1979 CBX 1000 Frame with a Title After Years of Holding on to and Hours of Research, I decided to sell it.  Has Title signed by last owner and is legit. This is the 1979 Honda CBX 1000  Frame.  Has Scratches and scuffs and was mostly wrapped for the 4 years I had it. I unwrapped it for picture Day. This Frame is AS-IS and for restoration. This will cost tons to ship so make sure you do you home work like I did.  The VIN is clear to see in the pictures for you to do your homework. To my best knowledge, this frame is in good shape and was given to me by a person who was going to restore it and fell ill.  The title in the pictures and the numbers on bike do not match up. BUT, it is a good title for a '79 cbx 1000 signed. I have proof of registration of this frame with the numbers on the bike (seen in lower part of title picture). Original owners were going to build a new bike out of 2 frames and this is the title they gave me. It is up to you what you do with it. I make no other claims about this frame except, it is what it is and I made sure I double checked for accuracy. Mileage is unknown. (999) is just a number not a mileage I have checked into shipping and there are a few ways it can ship. I checked  with Freight companies and I have measured it on a pallet. It fits a 40" x 48" standard pallet on its side. The frame is 41" Tall and 38" long  and 15" wide. (Sitting standing up with nose in the air).  Pallet weighed 34 lbs and the frame weighed 38 lbs.  I will negotiate price if being picked up or for shipping. Pick up at my location is ok. For sale, my 1979 HONDA CBX which was once my weekend rider. But like always, we move on to other bikes. And as is the case, some bikes sit in the corner covered up. Such is the case with this bike. Always a head turner wherever she went, always fun to ride even tho the handling of a 70's bike is nothing to brag about, but fun to be on. Not a stock bike due to paint, recovered seat and things like progressive rear shocks, stage 3 jet kit, painted header pipes and some little touches hear and there, but not too flat from stock that real motorcyclists recognize it. IT'S CONDITION IS NOT PERFECT, AS THE CARBS &FRONT BRAKES NEED ATTENTION. The bike starts and runs well, with a few burps here and there, but it won't idle and a couple of the floats were stuck when I started it up tonight. The front brakes don't fully release at the beginning of the riding season ( always the case since I have owned it ). No, I am not the original owner. The brakes I have always put up with. But, I am not a professional mechanic and I think it would be worth getting things done right. It's a fine example af a 1979 bike and a little TLC could go a long way. The bike has been meticulously maintained, for both operation and it's painted finish. The only part that could be improved is the rusted through hole in the bottom of the left muffler. It is currently covered using a stainless steel patch. Other than that the bike is flawless, and runs smoothly. It has 35,537 miles on it, which equates to a little over 1,000 miles per year of riding. Must be seen and ridden to be appreciated. Honda : Rebel NOS 1987 Honda 450 Rebel CMX450c Never Titled, New, Runs Perfect, Time Capsule

Once FROZEN IN TIME, this brand new old stock 1987 Honda Rebel CMX450c sat on the Virginia dealer showroom at Covington Honda, a closed dealership, from 1987 to 2013, when it was sold along with 70 other old motorcycles to David Silver Spares of England, along with a treasure trove of NOS Honda parts. The verified story is that the successful dealer had been in business for many years, built a new show room along I-64 overlooking the freeway where all drivers could see into the showroom, and began moving the dealership's bikes into the new facility. A Honda representative dropped by one day and told the dealer that he was not licensed by Honda to sell their motorcycles at his new location, only the old one. The outraged dealer kicked the Honda rep out of his building, locked the door, and never sold another Honda motorcycle or part again. The bikes were still just sitting on the showroom floor, many of them brand new machines (including this 2 mile 450 Rebel and a CBX1000), when the owner died in 2002. Everything remained as it sat until David Silver bought the entire contents of the Covington dealership from the family in 2013, and Vintage Motorcycle Rescue bought this machine in early 2015 from David Silver. We've restored it to excellent running condition. The bike was not running because it had been left in the showroom with fuel in the tank. The tank was taken off and all the powdery rust was removed to bare metal, the battery, air filter element, and fuel petcock were replaced, and the carburetors were completely rebuilt with an ultrasonic cleaning and Keyster kits. The oil was changed to Redline 20-50. It runs perfectly, but not wanting to add miles to the odometer, no one has ridden the bike since the restoration work was completed. There is no doubt this is the only brand new 1987 Honda 450 CMX450c in the world. It comes with its original tool kit still in the tool box, a new AGM battery installed for starting (along with a new correct still dry OEM NOS white Yuasa battery in the box), the original Owner's Manual (which was still wrapped around the tool kit), Dealer setup instruction manual, and we've added a new Honda Service Manual and NOS Dealership Sales Brochure from 1987. This motorcycle can be shown at any Concours d'Elegance or any other show in a non-restored, preservation, or 1987 year class. In seven more years it will be eligible for AMCA shows and judging, and if kept in its present condition, would easily make a Winner's Circle award with 99+ points. From all of the time spent at Covington Honda, this all original showroom stock bike is really in remarkable condition. The only two minor defects include very slight pitting on top of the chrome battery box cover, and a minor repaired 1/2 inch scratch on the left side of the rear fender. Neither of these is really noticeable to a casual viewer but since they are the only defects on the entire bike, they are mentioned. We thought about chrome plating the battery cover, but it would ruin the original perfect 450 Rebel sticker and the chrome would be better than OEM. Everything on the bike is like new, including the tires and all warning stickers, and it needs nothing. If you just want to customize a Rebel 450, please don't place a bid on this one. It deserves a good home where it will remain stock and well cared for. The 450 Rebel is rare because it was only produced for two years, during 1986-1987. The popular 2015 Rebel 250 is still a current model in production and will cost more than $5000 out the door. There is really no comparison to this new 450 time capsule.
