I've seen the hobby continue to grow not only on the internet and auctions but also with the amount of television shows, magazines and websites that are related to classic cars in some form or another. When the economy isn't so strong the classic car market holds its own. I've sold classic cars and trucks in both economic conditions. Over the last 10 years the overall market has been very strong and I believe it will continue to grow. Certain classic cars prices are on the rise and others are on the decline. It’s all about supply and demand not about a good or bad economy. The classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people want but there aren’t many on the market for sale. The classic cars that are on the decline are the cars that a lot of people don’t want anymore and there’s many on the market for sale. Of course, if the car is a rare model and spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. Desirable factory correct classic cars that are documented with matching numbers always make solid investments. Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character and there worth what people are willing to pay. Prior to this business I was just a blue collar guy who was working full time selling new and used Mercedes Benz. I was very passionate about classic cars and trucks so I decided to sell them part time. Although I had my used car dealer’s license I didn’t have my own dealership. Overall things were going just fine but my dream was to open my own classic car and truck dealership. I decided to give up my full time job with health insurance and a 401K to open a new classic and truck dealership. The whole bike is a work of art.” Motorcycle enthusiasts gathered alongside firefighters and city officials Sunday at Florian Hall in Dorchester for the unveiling of an Orange County Choppers-designed motorbike that honors the firefighters killed in the March 26 fire. The New England Patriots will hold a raffle for the bike and give it away at their final home game this year on Dec. 28. The $10 raffle tickets will go on sale Tuesday at nefc2014.com. This is an industry with no real guidelines and everyone's opinion is completely different. The average consumer doesn’t realize classic vehicles weren’t restored at the factory and are being restored by people in their garages. Everyone’s level of restoration experience is different and it shows in the restoration. An example would be a classic vehicle that's being advertised as an original model with matching numbers could be a phony with a reproduction trim tag and re stamped numbers on the engine block, etc. Another example would be a classic vehicle is being advertised as a full restoration when indeed only a few things have been restored. There are many classic vehicles listed for sale that have cosmetic and mechanical issues with such items as the body, paint, glass, lights, body hinges, gauges, window components, steering components, upholstery, engine leaks and tuning, radiators, transmission, rear end, brake components and suspension components. The consumers are spending thousands of dollars repairing the classic vehicles they've purchased after the sale. A bad purchase could turn into the buyer’s worst nightmare and be extremely costly! 1996 BMW Side Car , BMW R850R Motorcycle with Dnepr Sidecar. Ive owned this motorcycle since 2003 and 16,000 miles. Added the sidecar in 2008. The side car has approximately 1500 miles. Sidecar features original Dnepr wheel and drum brake and Yamaha (Virago) air adjustable shock. The spring and damping rate of the air shock closely approximate the motorcycle rear shock making for a sure and stable ride. The sidecar tub is widened to provide about four inches additional hip room from original. The seat back cushion is modified to provide about two inches additional legroom. This is a very comfortable sidecar and easily accommodates people over six feet tall. The sidecar is a quick attach design. It can be easily installed or removed in twenty to thirty minutes with just four bolts and two electrical plugs to go from solo to sidecar or back to solo. Salvage title due to hitting a pothole and damaging both wheels (tires should be replaced because of possible impact damage), damage to the right pannier, tail light lens, rear brake line, and a couple light bulbs. This made for expensive though not serious damage to the motorcycle. The insurance company totaled the bike and I retained salvage as it was my intent to repair the bike. The sidecar was not attached at the time of the pothole incident. Though the motorcycle wheels were bent, I rode the bike home fifteen miles and it was smooth - no vibration or awkward handling. Indeed I did not see the bent wheels until after I returned home. I had the BMW dealer do a thorough structural inspection as it was my intent to repair the bike if at all possible. They found no structural defects. Their repair estimate is available for examination to serious buyers in person. The project languished and I bought a different motorcycle. Accessories include: BMW brand windshield. BMW brand hard cases (saddlebags) one hook is damaged on the right case. Moto Equip-Side-Bag-Reflective-Tape-Kit-ME-RK-2. Reynolds Rear Luggage Rack. BMW brand tachometer. Battery charging harness. BMW brand heated grips. Extenda Fenda by Pyramid (front fender extension). Recent maintenance includes Hall sensor, alternator belt, clutch cable, synthetic engine trans, and final drive oil. Since the pothole incident Ive kept the gas tank full with stabilized premium unleaded gasoline, changing it out for fresh stabilized fuel every few months and I ride it around our own property from time to time to keep it limbered up. Aside from the above mentioned damage the bike is in good running order. I have personally put all the miles on this motorcycle since 16,000 miles. It has been a great ride. I have decided to part with my beautiful 1976 BMW motorcycle. I have owned many BMW motorcycles over the past 40 years and I can tell you this is one of the finest year and models ever made and in one of the most desirable colors. The 900cc engine is considered to be the best airhead ever built. Smooth and powerful. Produced from 1974 to 1976, but only 76 enjoys a 5 speed, this is an especially unique year in that this is the final year of what purists refer as the last of the best! It enjoys the optional classic style touring tank with black knee pads and the matching fenders and side covers all hand painted with black striping. This is a bike in which all of the parts on it have lived together for close to 40 years. Everything is original. No reproduction parts. No paint work. Frame, engine and data plate all have matching numbers This is a totally OEM unmolested survivor, in completely original condition. Clearly the bike has always been garaged and has never seen inclement weather nor is there any damage history. The paint color is Dover White. Rare to say the least. Ordered for use by Police departments and Government work throughout the world, this color commands premium prices since its introduction on the venerable /2 models. In this case the paint is 100% original and enjoys its full luster. The original alloy/ spoked wheels are perfect and shine beautifully. The mufflers are OEM BMW, not aftermarket replicas. The Metzler tires match and are in as new condition. All the electrics are in order. This is a well optioned bike as well. It has OEM Kraven bags and liners which were fitted by its original owner in 1983. The seat was built for BMW by the Korbin Seat Company and is made of soft black leather, matching white piping and is foam filled. This was a $600 dealer installed period correct option. Front and rear mud guards with original logos give it the Euro look it deserves. Chromium engine protection bars are smooth throughout and thankfully have never had to serve their function. As you would expect from a proper lady, the handlebars, risers, grips, controls and mirrors are all 100% factory original. The machine enjoys new Metzler tires, battery, plugs, condensor, point set and fresh oil and filters. Also, the fork oil and front brake fluid has been renewed. The carbs and fuel petcocks have been rebuilt. Mechanically it is one of best, smooth running BMWs. The throttle is perfect with the Bing carburetors responding perfectly. The carburetors have been completely rebuilt as well. This is the first year of the 5 speed. Gearing is perfectly mated to the proper horsepower. The braking is spectacular. Far better than you would expect from a 20 year younger bike! Buy it and drive it. That is all you have to do to enjoy this summer riding season and many future ones! This is one of the finest BMW bikes on the market at any price. Its current owner purchased it in 2003, 12 years ago with only 1,400 miles from its original owner! This ZX6-R is practically new. A young mans parents bought him this bike. To say the least after a short ride the parents wanted nothing to do with a motorcycle. So in the end; the young man got a brand new Nissan car. This bike is exceptional in mechanical and cosmetic aspects. There is no paint or bodywork done on this motorcycle. There is a "boot scuff" on the rear seat and above the tail-lamp. There is also a small scratch down low on the plastics on the left side (just rubbed it while moving the bike). We have both keys and the tool kit. Personally the color is my favorite part. I love the flat pearl white. It looks great!!
