1996 BMW Side Car , BMW R850R Motorcycle with Dnepr Sidecar. Ive owned this motorcycle since 2003 and 16,000 miles. Added the sidecar in 2008. The side car has approximately 1500 miles. Sidecar features original Dnepr wheel and drum brake and Yamaha (Virago) air adjustable shock. The spring and damping rate of the air shock closely approximate the motorcycle rear shock making for a sure and stable ride. The sidecar tub is widened to provide about four inches additional hip room from original. The seat back cushion is modified to provide about two inches additional legroom. This is a very comfortable sidecar and easily accommodates people over six feet tall. The sidecar is a quick attach design. It can be easily installed or removed in twenty to thirty minutes with just four bolts and two electrical plugs to go from solo to sidecar or back to solo. Salvage title due to hitting a pothole and damaging both wheels (tires should be replaced because of possible impact damage), damage to the right pannier, tail light lens, rear brake line, and a couple light bulbs. This made for expensive though not serious damage to the motorcycle. The insurance company totaled the bike and I retained salvage as it was my intent to repair the bike. The sidecar was not attached at the time of the pothole incident. Though the motorcycle wheels were bent, I rode the bike home fifteen miles and it was smooth - no vibration or awkward handling. Indeed I did not see the bent wheels until after I returned home. I had the BMW dealer do a thorough structural inspection as it was my intent to repair the bike if at all possible. They found no structural defects. Their repair estimate is available for examination to serious buyers in person. The project languished and I bought a different motorcycle. Accessories include: BMW brand windshield. BMW brand hard cases (saddlebags) one hook is damaged on the right case. Moto Equip-Side-Bag-Reflective-Tape-Kit-ME-RK-2. Reynolds Rear Luggage Rack. BMW brand tachometer. Battery charging harness. BMW brand heated grips. Extenda Fenda by Pyramid (front fender extension). Recent maintenance includes Hall sensor, alternator belt, clutch cable, synthetic engine trans, and final drive oil. Since the pothole incident Ive kept the gas tank full with stabilized premium unleaded gasoline, changing it out for fresh stabilized fuel every few months and I ride it around our own property from time to time to keep it limbered up. Aside from the above mentioned damage the bike is in good running order. I have personally put all the miles on this motorcycle since 16,000 miles. It has been a great ride. 1972 BMW R 75 , Matching numbers 1972 BMW R75/5 in very good condition with the original Monza Blue paint, pin striping, chrome tank panels, and chrome side covers. The frame and tank/fender paint, and the chrome tank panels are all in good condition with a few chips/scratches/checks and the patina of age, as you can see by the photos. Tires are good and should pass inspection again. All lights and signals work properly as well as the horn. Yuasa battery is new one year ago. This bike can be run as is or restored/refurbished to the new owners desires. This is a motorcycle classic that will only increase in value. BMW R1200RT (Factory Specs) The BMW R1200RT is a touring or sport touring motorcycle that was introduced in 2005 by BMW Motorrad to replace the R1150RT model. It features a 1,170 cc (71 cu in) flat-twin engine with a six-speed gearbox and shaft drive. 2005 to 2013 2010 R1200RT with double overhead cams In 2005, BMW introduced the R1200RT.[3] The design of this model was completely different from the R1150RT with a 15% boost in power, 20 kg (44 lb) weight saving, optional electronic suspension adjustment (ESA) and on-board computer. A low seat and/or a lowered suspension were available for shorter riders reducing seat height to a lowest level of 820 mm (32.3 in), although the lowered suspension eliminates the ESA option. The standard electrically operated windscreen was adjustable across a range of heights. The servo powered ABS brakes on the 2005 and 2006 models were partially integrated such that the rear brake pedal only applies the rear brake while the front brake lever applies both brakes. For the 2007 model year, servo assist was removed from the partially integrated brakes. A new, more advanced and lighter ABS system was produced by Continental Teves, which also produced the optional Automatic Stability Control (ASC), in BMW's traction control system for motorcycles. An electronic tire pressure monitor (TPM) was introduced as an option. During the production of the 2006 models the original two-tone horns were replaced by a single-tone horn. Other optional equipment included cruise control, heated grips, heated seats for both the rider and passenger, and a CD/Radio audio system. With 110 hp (82 kW) and 85 lbf*ft (115 N*m) of torque, the R1200RT is suitable for long-distance touring carrying a rider and passenger and a full load of luggage; and is able to reach 135 mph (217 km/h) and do a standing quarter mile in 12.2 seconds. In November 2009, BMW announced some revisions to the R1200RT for the 2010 model year. The new model had the same horsepower, but more torque at 88 lbf*ft (119 N*m), a higher engine speed of 8,500 rpm, and double overhead camshafts that were first used on the BMW HP2 Sport.[7] There were some relatively minor styling changes and revisions to the screen and cockpit designs, switch gear (including conventional indicators), and location of the hydraulic fluid reservoirs.
