He rented a three hundred square-foot office in the old Merriam, Kansas Gas building, which he shared with two other businesses. Josh, with the little money saved from buying and selling cars out of the paper, purchased vehicles out of the Autotrader magazine and the Kansas City Star. He then reconditioned them on his own and made sure the few cars he had in inventory were in prime shape. Trying to invent different marketing methods, Josh wanted a bigger presence in Kansas City with his 9-12 car inventory. He began having friends shoot photos of him waiving in front of his vehicles. Being that Autotrader magazine was the prime place to sell cars, with Josh waving in the photos, he was sure to stand out. In 1986 John Zaslavsky, a local small business owner who ran a shoe repair shop two blocks down the road came shopping for a car not knowing what he would find. Josh and John’s friendship began that day. Realizing each others' passion for cars, John began assisting Josh with buying and selling cars. Eventually with the growth of their business, the two formalized their partnership and John sold his formal shoe repair business. Very quickly, John and Josh learned that the tool necessary for becoming successful in the car business was a steady and reliable source for purchasing vehicles. The days of combing the classifieds had to go in order to grow. With the introduction of cell phones in the mid 80s, John had the idea of purchasing ten cell phones and passing them out to local new car managers at new car dealerships. He told them, “When you're trading for a car, page me, and I’ll bid it for you, then come buy it.” This new method appealed to the new car stores because previously, the only choice was to take their trades to the auction and risk loosing money on a weekly basis. Johns phone began ringing so much that less than a month later, he purchased a second phone to carry on him at all times. Now with an ever-growing and steady source for purchasing vehicles, Josh and John's business steadily grew from a 9-12 car inventory to over two hundred, forcing them to expand. In the mid 90’s, John’s brother and son began working as sales people, bringing new energy and ideas accelerating the companies growth. Today the two run the day to day operation of the company with John continuing to buy cars as he did in the 80’s but on a larger scale, and Josh continuing to inspect and work with vehicles to insure a quality product. The big question is…….RESTORE……...OR CREATE ONE OF THE WORLD’S MOST UNIQUE CAFE RACERS ???? Only offered for three years…..in limited numbers, the suzuki rotary powered motorcycle is perfect for the collector. Rotary motorcycles were only produced by three manufacturers, and even then, in very limited quantities. As a result, they extremely expensive. This Suzuki RE5 is quite unique, easier to obtain parts from many sources and is currently very affordable. That is what makes it also a perfect candidate for a radical cafe racer. Ever seen one ?? Can you imagine ?? Talk about the ultimate conversation piece……...good luck trying to top that one !!! This true barn find (.......well garage find, if we wish to be technical) is in great unrestored shape. Complete with surface dust and some corrosion, but almost entirely intact and ready for love and care. The tank and side covers had been painted, unwrapped and installed for the pictures, everything else…...including the dust…...is just as it was found. we have not tried to start the bike. there is no battery, and does not have a small side cover. we gently tried to see if it would kick over, but we did not try hard, as we did not want to cause any damages to the seals, and the rotor remained stationary. With only 8500 miles shown on the odometer, one would think that with some care, this bike can again be made to run nicely. Most of the stainless and chrome should come back reasonably well, with some care and elbow grease, while areas, such as the speedo bracket will require rechroming. The tail light is in rough shape. Cool original ducted exhaust pipes and lots of other cool rotary only items are in place. This is one interesting water buffalo. THIS BIKE IS FOR REAL! If Kawasaki made a road first super-motard back in 1981our bike would still kick its ass. I can promise you there is nothing like this bike. NOTHING! It was born in 1981 as a KZ550C (LTD) and it was reborn in 2015 as an "Urban Assault Bike" by Lake Geneva Muscle. It's called Wiscon'Sinister" and it turns heads like no other. Professionally built and tuned with pride and vigor to keep that smile on your face. For starters it's 90lbs. lighter than stock and puts nearly 60HP to the rear wheel along with 69 ft.lbs. of torque. (DYNO PROVEN!)The power-to weight ratio is incredible and the arm stretching acceleration out classes bigger CC bikes. We're all about ergonomics and useable horsepower and this bike hits the mark and then some! The bike is linier with it's handling and the weight proportion is slung low to allow you to push deep in the corners with an upright controlled position. We equipped the bike with a set of actual flat track spec T2 1 1/8" Pro-taper bars with Acerbis 35W LED lit hand guards. We mounted the bars to the triple tree with ROX 3" risers to open up the riding stance. We build muscle cars as well so we just had to put a 5" Jeg's 10,500 RPM full swing auto tachometer with an amber shift light on it. ( that's programmed to bang @ 9500 RPM). The bar package is finished off with a high amperage ignition system that is as trick as trick! We utilized a Motobatt Quad-flex lead pad battery. It works great and is extremely light, we also wired the battery tender that was included. The battery box is located on the front down tubes of the frame under the header pipe and contains a 100% of the electrical components as well. It's a sweet compact set up The front headlight not only looks wicked but it screams brightness at you with a blinding 55W HID w/built-in amber LED turn signals and for the bling the bike is also equipped with green LED lights that highlight the tail section and intake of the bike! Speaking of the intake, our proprietary 2 stage intake boasts high RPM "Tuned Porting" that draws gobs of air through the custom tail section mounted air induction system and efficiently jams air into the fire breathing inline 4 cylinder. The only thing cooler than our intake is our dominating 4 into 2 into 1 tuned and chambered exhaust system that exits out the back inside the frame rail. The "Knight" style AHRMA sanctioned seat pan is tapered for aggressive riding or cruising and is comfortably mounted on a custom back-halved frame that is proportionately designed and safely manufactured by guys that have been fabricating rippers for over 30 years! To round out the ergonomics the bike boasts a two position lower shock mount that proudly support the custom " Super Shox" that have "on-the-fly" clicker compression and rebound control. The 80/20 tires rip gravel roads and fire lanes without missing a beat and the bike was born to run on pavement. This bike is Hot! Fast! & For Sale!
