1955 Triumph Bobber for sale Offered for sale is "Pure Vida" a 2013 creation by renown expert bike builder Dan Patterson of Angry Monkey Motorcycles. This bike was featured in issue #129 of "The Horse Backstreet Choppers" magazine. The build started out matting a modified 1955 T110 frame to a rebuilt 1956 TR6 engine. Custom paint was accomplished by Ryzart Custom Paint. Black powder coated frame by KDM Custom Coatings. Tasteful mods incorporated are: Bob Newby clutch and racing primary belt drive. Alternator installation to delete battery. External, cleanable oil filter. Custom exhaust by Angry Monkey Motorcycles. A complete second front wheel assy with drum brake comes with the sale. This bike has been covered and garaged since delivery. It has been ridden occasionally to local bike nights and weekend rides to Starbucks. Bike is fully built in a bobber chopper style, it's kind of a mash between the two. I am actually impressed how comfortable it is to ride, takes medium bumps without issues. Extended hardtail was added, with the springer front. Everything is either rebuilt or new on the bike. Old triumphs are kickstart only, wimps need not apply. Right side shift (opposite japanese/american bikes) and is 1 down 3 up shift pattern. Has clean Indiana Title, about 50 miles on it since the motor was rebuilt. The custom oil tank doesn’t have the ability to accept the breather tube as an input so it is open to the atmosphere. Due to this, and triumphs butterfly breather valves, some oil does come out through the tube, once parked, you will see a few drops on the ground. This is normal for this motor and setup, if you have an immaculate garage, put a cookie sheet under it. Triumph later moved the breather into the primary side case and relieved this.An older exhaust is still on it, there is one rust hole where it was scrapped long ago. I didn’t add a new one as I felt it better to keep the cost down for you and let you pick whatever exhaust you wanted. If you don't want a new exhaust, there isn’t anything wrong with running the one it has.Carb float needle was just replaced with a rubber tiped, its still in the break in period so there is a slow drip if you leave the petcock on when parked. I was reading an article about a 2008 Triumph Rocket Triple that was only 6 HP more, so this bike definitely holds its own for horsepower creds. If you're looking at the new bike showrooms today, you've got to spend a decent amount of change to get around those numbers. BIKE RUNS EXCELLENT So, here you've got the total package. Cruiser capabilities with poser status. Ape hanger handlebars are 5-way adjustable. They are on the full out position now. Can go in 4 more positions. Nice bike with many new parts. Has a new rear Dunlop Cruisemax 150/80B16 WWW. Front is a 120/90-18 Kenda Kruz. New metal flake tuck & roll seat. Large solo with matching metal flake grips. New throttle control with braided throttle cable. Headlight is vintage 35 watt with yellow tint. S&W override fork springs. Downdraft carburetors are running chrome velocity stacks. Gas tank has been relocated to the right side hard bag. Hard bags are fiberglass. Locking type with matching key. The left side holds the majority of the bike's electrics and a working cigarette lighter. Also has room for storage. Right hard bag houses the gas tank.
