Triumph : Trophy 1966 triumph tr 6 r 650 trophy sport

I am selling my number match,1966 Triumph TR6R motorcycle. This is Triumph's 650cc, single-carb, sports model called a Trophy Sport. Many enthusiasts, myself included, prefer the TR6R, single carb. bikes to the more-finicky Bonnevilles. They are smoother running, much nicer to live with and are just as fast in anything other than pure racing applications. This bike has been fully restored to correct factory specs using NOS items wherever possible. Included is the matching-number engine that has been rebuilt from the crankshaft out. As you can see in the photos, there isn't one part of the entire bike that hasn't been brought back to as close to perfect condition as I could make it. The only non-stock item is the use of stainless steel spokes in place of the galvanized variety. It starts, runs and rides very nicely and has never been licensed for the road. As such, it will require 'bedding-in' and some tightening up after the first 100 miles, but I'm confident that you won't have any issues once it's finally set up. That being said, the bike is still a used, 50-year-old motorcycle and as such it is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty of any kind. It comes with a clear Ontario title in my name. I am selling only because health issues preclude my riding this beautiful bike. The bike is located in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, about 100 miles from the Niagara Falls or Detroit border. Shipping and importing this bike to the USA is easy, as I have sold many bikes to the US over the years. I will assist in shipping by delivering the bike to a nearby commercial shipping depot or to the Canadian side of either of the two nearest border crossings. The custom oil tank doesn’t have the ability to accept the breather tube as an input so it is open to the atmosphere. Due to this, and triumphs butterfly breather valves, some oil does come out through the tube, once parked, you will see a few drops on the ground. This is normal for this motor and setup, if you have an immaculate garage, put a cookie sheet under it. Triumph later moved the breather into the primary side case and relieved this.An older exhaust is still on it, there is one rust hole where it was scrapped long ago. I didn’t add a new one as I felt it better to keep the cost down for you and let you pick whatever exhaust you wanted. If you don't want a new exhaust, there isn’t anything wrong with running the one it has.Carb float needle was just replaced with a rubber tiped, its still in the break in period so there is a slow drip if you leave the petcock on when parked. It is agile and at home on the twisties. It is amazingly planted in the corners and rides two up just as well with a push of a button to change suspension settings. It has great power and a dead flat torque curve. It handles like a much smaller machine. I love it and would keep it for many years but my daughters college tuition is forcing some tough choices. I am the first and only owner of the bike. The bike is basically like new with minor wear and tear. I am an engineer and very meticulous about maintaining all my vehicles. The bike has always been adult ridden and not abused. All service done by Northern Ohio Ducati Triumph. Stored in heated garage on battery tender. Light scuffing on final drive housing where left boot contacts it and small scratch on windshield (both are detailed in the photos). Do not hesitate to email any questions. I would be happy to take more pictures if you want to see specific areas. Dealer retail value on Kelly Blue Book is $14,480 There are many review articles on the internet that praise this bike.
