The Rx has the Daytona rear subframe, a special rear cowl, quick shifter, belly pan, fly screen and special paint scheme, as pictured. This bike also has the Triumph heated grips and tire pressure monitor. Sale includes a Triumph tail pack that attaches to the rear seat, Evotech tail tidy and billet aluminum clutch and brake levers from AVS. OEM levers and tailpiece included with sale. Tires are good and bike is ready to go. 500 mile service completed, next scheduled maintenance at 6000 miles. Clear title in hand. The 1974 Triumph Bonneville was built in very low numbers. It was a very odd year in Triumph Bonneville history. Angry workers hearing of the impending shutdown of the Triumph Motorcycles plant at Meriden, shut it down themselves in protest, in October 1973 just as production was being switched from 1973 models to making 1974s. This affected not just Triumph Bonneville production but alsoTriumph TR6, TR7, & Triumph Daytona (Tridents were produced at BSA's Small Heath plant, side-by-side with BSA Rocket 3s). Production didn't resume again until 1975, so very few 1974 Triumph Bonneville s were ever produced. This bike is in very good condition. The wire that is attached to the rear brake light needs to be resoldered on the control on handle bar.The rear turn signal is cracked, but I have both new turnsignals to be installed on bike. Bike has new Amals on it. Chrome is in very good condition,shines beautifully. Front fender does not shine as good as rest, looks like someone buffed it with steel wool at one time. Paint in excellent condition. Beautiful bike, does leak a little oil(it is a 40 yr old bike) Previous owner had head redone about 3 years ago. No smoking,runs smooth ,shifts good. Clear title in my name, titled off the '72 frame number. Total engine and chassis overhaul. Every segment of the motorcycle has been completely disassembled---engine, gearbox, primary and clutch, swingarm, forks. The engine rebuild was a meticulous overhaul. Our shop inspected and replaced every intricate part that showed wear. The crankshaft main bearings and seals were replaced. New connecting rod big-end bearings were installed on polished journals. The cams were polished and lifters refaced. The oil pump was overhauled. The pistons and rings were replaced. The valve guides were replaced with Precision Engineering bronze guides. The valves are Black Diamond, which is the best quality in the industry. Valve springs are heavy duty Kibblewhites. A copper head gasket was installed to eliminate leaking.Upgraded carburetors to new genuine Amal Concentric 'Premier'. Newest and best on the market. Look just like the originals, but have better internals. The exhaust headers are new T120TT pipes. The gearbox was overhauled with all-new bushings and bearings.The gears were in good shape, with no chipped or damaged teeth. The clutch has been improved by installing Barnett heavy-duty clutch springs and clutch plates. The primary chain was replaced. The stock points and condensers ignition system has been replaced with modern electronic ignition. The charging system has been updated with a solid-state regulator/rectifier. Total chassis overhaul. The steering head bearings have been updated to tapered bearings. The frame has been painted. The fork tubes were replaced, fork internals overhauled. All wheel bearings have been replaced. The rims and spokes are original Dunlop units, and honestly look like new. Tires are new Dunlop K81 TT100 (rear 4.25X18 and front 4.10X19). I am willing to install any new tires of your choosing. Both wheels have been speed-balanced. The entire engine has been bead-blasted and painted.The original Smiths instruments are in good working condition. The seat and tailpiece is new. The gas tank and fenders have been painted. The lettering is painted, not decals. The overhauled engine has been properly broken in.The head has been re-torqued, the valves re-adjusted, and the oil changed.The levers are genuine Dougherty, as were found on the late 60's BSA Spitfire. 1981 TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE 750 T140 – ALL ORIGINAL - ORIGINAL MILES, FRAME AND ENGINE This Triumph Bonneville 750 epitomizes the early 1970’s British motorcycle that became a permanent part of British motorcycle history and still represents the classic style… The condition of this machine is highly original. The frame and engine numbers are factory correct and original. It is the 750 cc engine. The gearbox is also original to the machine. It has a dual carburetor. This Bonneville is completely original and has never been apart. I am the second owner. It is all original condition, a great rider, and a perfect candidate for any motorcycle show with a preservation class. It would take very little to make this bike shine like new. It has some scratches and light surface rust on the chrome and also needs a new ignition switch but it starts easily with one kick.This machine has been on display in my bar for over 15 years(thus the low mileage) When I purchased the bike, it was in basically the same completely original condition shown in the photos. Besides a complete cosmetic detailing, I went through the entire machine and checked all of the major engine, transmission, and braking components for wear and safety. The gas tank was cleaned and the carburetors inspected, cleaned, and re-installed along with a new air filter, and all fluids were changed. The tires are good. The seat is also original to the machine and in beautiful condition.The engine and transmission are in excellent interior condition due to the low mileage and absence of any type of harsh conditions or abuse throughout its life.A complete cleaning and detailing was performed, and although detailing on an original machine is never completed, the overall condition of the finishes is remarkable considering the age of the machine, and is in line with the original mileage.The aluminum and chrome parts are in very good condition overall. with a bit of light surface rust as seen in photos. The paint is original and the original badges are still applied to the gas tank. The paint is a sweet blue with the words made in England still there. This was the last year this bike was made in England. The Triumph on the road is very easy to handle, and rides down the road very tight, with no shakes, shimmies, or rattles. It shifts and accelerates smoothly and holds the road as it should. It is also the perfect candidate for any motorcycle show with or without a preservation class, and a very rare machine, as all of the hard to find original parts are accounted for. Unlike other old British bikes for sale on the internet, this one is ready to ride and not in need of any expensive service once you get it home.
