Over-the-road equipment includes a wide, handlebar-mount fairing with a tall windshield, protective lower cowlings, a four-speaker AM/FM/cassette sound system, rider/passenger intercom, cruise control, 33.6 gallons of total storage in the hard-shell saddlebags and top trunk, a 6-gallon fuel tank and a low, wide, cushy seat. Why its desirable: With very few exceptions, the Venture has not changed since its introduction in 1999. So, if you can find an early model in good condition, you can buy what amounts to the same motorcycle Yamaha is still selling in 2013 for about one-fourth the cost. For sale is my 1988 Yamaha Venture Royale 1300 cc motorcycle. Runs strong, have always maintained it, 110,000 miles, has some blemishes from 25 years of service, drips a couple of drops of oil each week, but takes me to Jersey City and back each week. It's a great bike to haul lots of stuff for work, school, etc with the saddle bags and trunk. Has a large fairing which I liked because it shielded me in the winter from cold winds. Taking on a new project so thinking of selling her. If I don't get the 1,600.00, I'll just keep her and ride her and save gas. These big engines are known to go easily 150 - 200,000 miles. 1989 Yamaha Venture Royale: 1300cc, 21,400 actual original miles, Water Cooled, Electric Fan, CLASS Computerized Leveling Air Suspension System, Cruise Control, Intercom, AM/FM, Cassette Player, CB Radio, Floor boards, Heel Toe Shifter, Highway Foot Boards, and Fog Lights. All electronics are functional, not sure about the cassette I don’t have a cassette tape to try it out. The cooling system is fully functional, I’ve had the bike idling for almost an hour with no signs of overheating. It starts the first time and runs very well. The tires are in decent shape and the seats are in excellent condition. The bike has sat for a while with only occasional short trips. A recent tuneup included: a new battery, carburetor synchronization, clean and gap spark plugs, oil and filter replacement, clutch fluid replaced and bled, brake fluid replaced and bled. The bike has some issues that are typical of older bikes, a small oil leak, the fuel petcock is stuck in the on position and small cracks in the some of the plastic on the fairing and body panels but it is well worth the money. I have seen similar models with over 200,000 miles on them. I have a clear Florida title and the original owners manual. Better handling, more powerful and better looking than a Honda Goldwing from the same time period. $2500.00 No checks, no Pay Pal, no shipping. Local in person sale only, Largo Florida. New throttle control with braided throttle cable. Headlight is vintage 35 watt with yellow tint. S&W override fork springs. Downdraft carburetors are running chrome velocity stacks. Gas tank has been relocated to the right side hard bag. Hard bags are fiberglass. Locking type with matching key.
