1980 Yamaha XT 500 very nice condition garage kept. I got it out of storage put the battery in it after a long winters nap and it started second kick and now it starts first kick. My son was in town and rode it to the lake and around town (300 miles) and said it runs excellent all the maintenance has been done. Oil change valves adjusted cam chain tightened. Last year I put new chain and sprockets front and rear, Carb kit, battery all the stuff it needed to be in top condition. Due to physical disability I will never ride again so the best thing to do is sell it to someone who will enjoy it and have fun. I live in Wyoming so if you need an excuse to visit this state this is it enjoy yourself. I would prefer local pickup because I like to give the option of a test ride if it is not what you expected or as described I will refund your money. I will ship the bike after receipt of payment but the buyer is in charge of all the shipping arrangements. I have a clear title and can be signed over the same day as purchase. Up For Sale is a like New 2012 Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere with only 3859 Miles. The bike has never been off road and is equipped with a Taller V-Stream Windshield and Genuine Yamaha Side Cases which are relatively easy to remove. I have all owners manuals and the bike was recently serviced and needs nothing. If you're looking at this type bike, I'm sure you've done a bit of homework and research. The Tenere offers all day riding comfort along with 2 different modes (sport and Tour) and Traction control that can be turned off. This bike is virtually vibration free going down the highway. I am well aware that there are cheaper Tenere's out there, but when you factor in the Luggage do the math. The Yamaha Genuine Side cases open from the Top and really allow you to carry quite a bit of gear. This is a 1982 Yamaha XT 550. It starts and runs excellent, shifts correctly, clutch works fine.It is in overall very good condition given the year. It is NOT a museum piece or NOS!! What does it need..?? 1) it will need a battery 2) the baffle is rusted out of the silencer 3) rear brake shoes 4) The gas tank has a pin hole leak. It is not wet or dripping. It is slightly " damp " in that area. That area can bee seen in the pictures. ( it is very repairable ) 5) There is NO TITLE. I will gladly give you notarized bill of sale. 6) Choke cable needs replacing. The good stuff... oh ya here we go! 1) it has excellent compression ( you need a STRONG LEG! ) 2) rear tire has about 90% tread front about 75% 3) Still has all the original lighting and instrumentation. Although the tail light bulb will need replacing. 4) it is a real BALL TO RIDE!! This thing pulls like a mule!!... in ANY GEAR I encourage anyone with an interest to come look at it in person and take it for a short ride.
