1978 Honda Cb 750F, 1978 Honda CB750F 750Four SuperSport 5995.00 O.B.0 Mileage: 40,700 Rare, original period Correct 1978 Honda CB750F 750Four SuperSport. This bike is in excellent period correct condition, with the exception of aftermarket 4-1 exhaust and muffler. This is not a restored bike. This is a completely original, period condition bike, with the exception of the exhaust change. I have retained the original stock chrome four into one exhaust, which comes with the bike. It features original classic period correct Vetter, Windjammer 2 (two) touring package and crash bars with highway pegs. The bike bears the original dealers sticker on the taillight, the dealer is still in business, and confirms installation of Vetter touring packages on these bikes, although rarely installed on a SuperSport model, making the bike all the more a rare original. This bike is in excellent condition for its age. The SuperSport engine currently runs great and the bike drives great, with a 9,400 rpm red line, awesome for 1978. Historically the SOHC SuperSport (without touring package) should turn the mile in under 13 seconds, although it has never been ran that hard. The paint, decals, emblems, stickers and such are original, have never been messed with and are in great condition, down to the original dealers sticker. Everything on the bike works, except the neutral light. Original gas tank is in awesome condition. This bike also features the original side covers, unique to the 78 SuperSport model, original dual front disk brakes and rear disk break, with original rotors, original Comstar five spoke wheels, found only on 77 and 78 SuperSport models, period correct, original touring seat upholstery, original OEM tools under the seat that came with the bike from the factory, and a vintage period correct helmet that came to me with the bike in the 1980s. The bike has been in the family since the 1980s, (at 6,000 plus miles) has been well cared for and has always proven to be fast, durable and dependable. Being sold as is. 1978 Honda Cb 750, 1978 Honda 750K with 14,912 miles. This bike was unused for many years until I found it and got it in running shape. What has been done: New plugs, air filter, oil and filter. Carbs disassembled, cleaned, adjusted and syncd. New Dunstall replica mufflers with original down tubes. These are as close to stock as can be found. Gel (AGM) battery. New Dunlop D404 tires and tubes. New fork oil. Disassembled clutch discs to check for wear, they are all the same thickness as new, as well as the front and rear brakes. Rebuilt front caliper and master cylinder. This bike is a nice original and has not been restored or modified. There are minor chips, dings and scratches and some light chrome pitting. The tank has original paint but the side covers have been replaced with nice originals (not reproductions). The aluminum engine covers have not been polished. Seat is perfect with no tears or bad seams. There were only two colors offered for the 78K, black or Candy Alpha Red, this one is the red. There is a non installed sissy bar w/small luggage rack and crash bar included. Tool kit and owners booklet. This is a comfortable low mileage bike that runs smooth and shifts fine and stops well. This bike had a mint set of gauges that say 700 Seven Hundred!! No shit. we still have them. The previous owner swore the odometer on the title we handed to the secretary of state. Smooth engine, no smoke, no noise. The front tire is an original, and the front brake rotor shows no wear. It is lowered, and has a hog wheel on it, which shows some rust, unlike the rest of this clean bike. It had a 4x4 cross chopper pipe set in mint condition, but was so low the bike would not turn, and there was not a mark on them, I sold them and put this nice 4 into 1 on it. The seat is an original pan, cut to fit the 78 supersport gas tank. It has a new petcock installed as well. I took the carbs off to clean them and after setting since 1992 they needed nothing. I am the 3rd owner, the second owner bought it in 1991, from his friend who bought it new, and sold it with 650 miles on the odometer. The tank, breather, and bodywork were lost in a fire while off the bike in a separate building. It was never ridden by the 2nd owner. It has a new battery, and all lights work. It has an H1 Kawasaki tail light, because I like it. We still have the 700 mile gauges, but they are on the 74 we restored. The cut seat, lowering kit, and CB500 shocks set this bike low enough that with a 28 inseam I am well comfortable on this bike. It has an Emgo bullet fairing. There is a whole set of finned aftermarket covers on the engine including 4 very rare vintage valve adjuster finned covers. There is no chain damage on the engine, we check them all. Mileage is unknown, but was honestly sworn at 698 miles by Previous owners. We make NO such claim, unknown miles per seller. It has had some leaks at the Alternator cover they are fixed. I have ridden this bike 4 or 5 miles and in that time frame no odd noises no jumping in and out of gear.Picture of the bike in burgundy is the we got it. not a scratch in the exhaust that would rub on every corner. I have a very nice example of a 1973 TX650 (XS650) cafe racer for sale with 14,700 original miles. I put a lot of work and money into this bike over the summer, and she is running like a champ. Tons of torque and I've been told multiple times by friends that this was the fastest XS they've ridden. All mechanical work was professionally done by Rob Ghislain of Dinosaur Four, a specialist in vintage Japanese motorcycles. Idols strong, shifts smooth, a true blast to ride. This bike get tons of attention and complements everywhere it goes. The only reason I am selling is because it is way too small for me, and I have since bought another bike and currently cannot afford to have both.The following work has all been done in the past few months:- new custom subframe / rear loop / tail light bracket- electrical completely redone throughout- full carb rebuild, resynced and rejetted- full tune up - valves, chains, cables, points, timing, compression, fuel lines/filters, oil, etc.- front brake system overhauled and rebuilt- brand new Shorai lithium battery- custom fabricated battery tray- brand new LED taillight- rebuilt starter switch- brand new performance pod filters- custom neutral light- brand new stainless engine bolt kit- brand new oil seals- brand new tach block offOther upgrades include:- Pamco ignition system- updated charging system / regulator rectifier from Mike's XS- Woodcraft clip-on bars with Brooks leather grips- RFY shocks- cafe seat from Dime City- custom mufflers with built in baffles- 5 3/4" halo headlight- bar end mirror- tires have good tread and plenty of life, Pirelli in front, Dunlop in rearI have a clean Illinois title in hand, and have receipts for all labor costs.
