Ok, the engine s nicked from Suzuki s old TL1000S but the rest of the SV1000 is all-new yet the price tag is very reasonable new or used. The faired Suzuki SV1000 S version has lower bars but is the better all-rounder. The unfaired SV1000 with higher bars is a real funster if less competent on the motorway. The Suzuki SV1000's chunky aluminium frame with conventional suspension and it works better than the TL1000S ever did. The SV1000's suspension s not quite as good as pure sports bikes but it s fine for most people. If you do lots of track days and fancy aftermarket shock and fork re-build will enable you to flick from peg to peg in an instant with no grief. Brakes on the Suzuki SV1000 are strong but work best with fresh fluid. The Suzuki SV1000's big V-twin produced over 120bhp at the rear wheel when it first appeared in the TL1000S. Unfortunately the bike had handling issues and Suzuki tamed it to little over 100bhp. Claimed power for the Suzuki SV1000 is 118bhp, actual figure is about 106 which is enough thanks to loads of torque but an exhaust system and power commanded will release more if required from the SV1000. Build quality seems to be a Suzuki problem lately and the SV1000 is no exception. Suzuki SV1000 owners report annoying problems, mainly corrosion and poor finish. Reliability problems are rarer with the SV1000, especially as owners tend to look after their bikes. Comfortable over distance but the Suzuki SV1000's seat doesn t suit everyone. Reasonable if not brilliant pillion seat. Clocks are fairly comprehensive. The Suzuki SV1000's headlights are better than most bikes which is a bonus. Mirrors are acceptable and under seat storage is above average. Steering damper fitted as standard. Additional fairing side panels can ruin the lines of the Suzuki SV1000 and make the engine run hot.

Bought this bike used at Teds Harley Davidson in Alton. I believe I am the second owner. Bought the bike last May. Bike is is pretty great shape. Only rode this bike a few times. Bike looks very sharp. May have some minor wear. See pictures for details. Selling this bike because I don't have the time to ride it anymore and need to lose the payment. Only 4373 miles and comes with detachable sissy bar which I installed myself. Needs to go to someone that will ride it a lot and have fun with it. I am still paying off a loan for this bike. You are looking at a "One of A Kind" Hand Built Thunder Road Motorcycles' Custom 1917 Harley Davidson replica rightfully dubbed "CopperHead"! This Motorcycle has been featured in Magazines, Calenders, and Taken "Best Hand Built Motorcycle" awards at various shows! This bike is NOT a kit. It started its life as a 1979 Harley Davidson Sportster and is currently registered as such today. But that is about the only info that will resemble its start as a 1979 Harley Davidson! The Ironhead 1000cc Sportster engine was chosen as the starting point of this project, the top end of this motor does not have through studs and allowed for heavy cosmetic modifications to produce the "One off" hand built "Copperhead" tribute you see today! This project was produced to portray the stylings and simple elegance of an early 1900's Harley Davidson but offer the owner features like electric start , disc brakes and modern controls! Finished in "Indian Burgundy" acrylic enamel paint, along with all hand painted lettering and striping, it is true to the vintage character it represents. This build took over 6 months to complete and most parts were completely fabricated from scratch using Hand Tools and a welder! The 21" Custom 80 Spoke Front & Rear wheels from "American Wire Wheel" with Radial Rotors are extraordinary! The disc brake set up looks like fine art accenting the wheels! Tires are 90-90-21 up front and 120-70-21 on rear. The unique "Jockey Shift" or Hand Shift with Rocker foot clutch smoothly shifts the 4 speed transmission and is a Fabricated marvel that must be seen in person! Antique accents like Gas primer cups, Gas Tank syringe, and Glass reader gauges exemplify an early century motorcycle but are not required for operation. This bike runs a standard 12 volt system and offers working headlight, tailight, signals and horn! The front forks were fabricated with the help of Factory H.D. Rockers & Springs and also feature one of a kind built-in dampener knobs with Latigo leather discs, all accenting the gold plated headlight bezel! The rear end including rear fender, tailight, and License plate bracket are all hinged and open to the side to allow for rear tire replacement when necessary! It has the standard points and Dyna coil, stock pistons, cams and lifters, the fuel is fed via a M88 Linkert Carburetor and has a dry sump oil system. The bike has been wired with all Mil-Spec wiring, and Euro Components Hand Controls operate the electronics. The riders seat was finished out by Persons Genuine Leather and offers a 3 stage built in cushion suspension. This bike is the nicest riding rigid frame you may ever experience! It is an absolute dream to ride and will draw crowds at every stop. If you have dreamed of owning a vintage Harley Davidson, but want some of the newer technology that makes your ride an enjoyable one, this is your one chance. This bike has about 175 miles on it since it was built and was last ridden in 2011. Since then it has been on display in a climate controlled facility until today.
